This is OK sort of restaurant. On the super bowl afternoon, at 1:30 PM, our family is the only family in this Ho chow. We initially hesitated, but went ahead. The menu states that lunch specials are served daily and no mention of any exceptions. But the waiter stated that those specials are only from Monday to Friday. The waiter is unpleasant and all through felt that he is disturbed by our visit. The waiter happily enjoying his lunch and watching TV and left us alone. We need to shout for all our needs like drink and bill. We ordered "bean curd" and its just that without any vegetables (bit surprised). Spicy eggplant is yummy. Chow mein and fried rice are also yummy. Each entree costed about $10. Given the service and menu mis-statement, I wont visit again.

UPDATE: Saw them drop food on the ground then picked it up then served it on a plate. Saw this from the kitchen where you pay and pickup the food. Will never come here again. I can not believe they do that. One of the guys even for a moment glanced over at our (waiting customers) direction when they put the food back on the plate. ******* Ho Chow food is actually very good. Their customer service sometimes is OKAY. But not bad. I usually order food to go from here for lunch. Its best to call ahead of time to place your order. They are very fast. They have a pickup entrance, so dont go through the main entrance at the front. Drive to the northern side of the building and enter, pay, and pick up there.

I have been a customer since Carol opened 25 plus years ago love the honey walnut prawns.I was waiting for my to go order on 2016 father day enjoying some complimentary wontons observing the cooks do there thing. One cook walks over to the fridge to re-stock his quart size container with food product that was half filled with what appeared to be water, as he reached in the fridge and pulled out the food some of it fell onto the floor I mean a filthy floor he just picked it up put into the container and proceeded to cook with it. I dont know if I will go back after seeing that beware

Truly sad! This once excellent restaurant keeps sliding downhill. As a 15 year eat-in and take-out customer we were used to the excellent food even though the prices were higher than average. We have noticed the decline in food quality over the last year or so but the food we received last night was barely edible. The beef was very low grade, extremely tough and awful tasting. Our fried rice that used to be full of shrimp, meats and vegetables was just about all rice. Theyre just not what they use to be.

Although this is not the most authentic Chinese cuisine - it is certainly Americanized (modified to suit the American taste); nevertheless, it is delicious fare. The have some weird $20 minimum or something of that sort. Pan Fried noodles, garlic eggplant are our favorite dishes to eat at this restaurant. Decor is on the formal side, nice fresh flowers on the table; ambience is decent (surely not bad). All in all, good place to look forward to for some good Chinese food.

I went with a group of 6 people. We each ordered off the menu and some ordered appetizers to share. When the food came we realized that it was family style. We decided to share everything so we could all try different things. There every single dish was amazing. I normally skip beef dishes at Chinese places due it it being tough or chewy but the beef ended up being my favorite. I would skip the appetizers but I would absolutely go back here.

The Spicy tofu is what brought me here and remains delicious. Before they were hit by the Bay Area salmonella spice scare years back the food was amazing. The service is still great but their food quality has been sliding ever since. This lack of quality control has unfortunately resulted in multiple events of food poisoning to myself and family. Its sad to say but we will not be visiting again. Ill miss you Ho Chow, we had good times.

Food quality has gone down but is still OK to visit once a month. Wait staff seems like a cartel, and also tends to behave aloof and with condescension based on race/ethnicity (extra polite and attentive to one group of diners, while another group is ignored...seen it many times) OK if you want to take out and crash before the TV.. but not if you want to host a nice gathering.

I started coming to Ho Chow several years ago. My coworkers and I soon found ourselves coming here almost weekly, making it my favorite place to go when I need a break from the office. Their lunch specials are terrific and the honeyed walnut prawns are practically candy. Also a good selection is the garlic chicken lunch special. A gem of the south bay.

The food was just ok today but the soup is still awesome. The water we have is just not good and we always seem to get the same guy. He just does not care about his guest. The restaurant is still going down hill. The owner needs to bring back what was there when he purchased it, or he will loose out.

This used to be my favorite local Chinese restaurant for over 15 years. For past several years Ive seen changes in food quality and service. I used to take out about once a week but the kitchen is looking dirtier and dirtier. I just dont feel like they care about the food or cleanliness any more.

Since its opening in 1976 my family has been celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and other special occasions at Massimos. It seems special with the elegant rooms, white table linens and large rounded booths. The food is always delicious and you are never hurried.

Really used to love this place, but lately Ive been hard pressed to pay the extra to go here vs other places. The atmosphere is superb and the hosts are really nice, definitely prime for a business meal, but would stick to cheaper places for family meals or take out.

Tired this place for the first time last Friday. The Service was good but the good was just an average. I ordered chicken piccata for my entree and while eating it the whole time I was thinking that something is missing...... or maybe I picked the wrong entree.

Have been periodically patronizing this place for some years now. Food is good and served quick. But dont expect great service. Very abrupt group of staff. They could care less and you would be waiting to be seated, especially so in the evenings.

The food is excellent and the service is the best I have ever had anywhere. We go to dinner there or get it to go at least once a month. If you are looking for great food in a very classy setting with great service Ho Chows is the place to go.

I have enjoyed Ho Chow in the past. Recently my last 2 trips to take out have been a disappointment. The preparation of the food was questionable and the lettuce was not crispy. I need to find a new location

Great food, but was a pain trying to explain what I wanted to order. 5 star for food, 3 star for service.
