There are only two reasons that it even gets two stars. One is the food was very good to our busboy Joao was also on top of his game. Let me explain. First we went in and it took a few minutes for a server to wait on us whose name was Juan. We had to ask twice for our drinks which took 10 minutes and twice to get our guacamole. When are food finally came we had no utensils to eat it with. One seemed to be oblivious to us and seem to be doing other work as they were getting ready to close. Thank God for our bus boy Joao who came numerous times to bring his utensils and to clear our dishes at the end. The entire crew seem to be doing more work to clean up to go home then they were to wait on customers. Two of the servers decided to sit with a table and talk with them for over 20 minutes. On the drinks I ordered which were the same, they came in two different containers. Even at the end when I ordered a Mexican coffee it came with no Kahlua and no whip cream. When I asked that there is no whip cream he said they were out. I pointed to the flan I had ordered and asked him why it was whipped cream on the flan and then and he looked surprised and said it was different whip cream. Yikes. We called the manager over and he asked who the server was and when it we told him we did not know at first because nobody had a name tag on he said "yeah that is one of things Im trying to change." Really? Like I said the food was good but in all the reviews I have ever done this by far is one of the worst I have ever given and it is strictly on the service. As far as I am concerned Joao should be promoted to manager and I would let that manager be a busboy for a while too. Maybe he would learn how to treat customers because Joao seems to know how to be courteous and responsive and efficient. My trip to San Francisco from Los Angeles has a definite black mark on it.

The service here was terrible. It took a long time to take our order and to serve us. It was my Birthday and I had been looking forward to eating here because it had been many years since I ate here because I moved away and there wasnt a Chevys restaurant where I lived. Chevys was one of my favorites before and I was excited that my daughter was taking me for my birthday. My daughter told the server it was my birthday and thought they were going to go through the whole birthday thing they usually do there, but it never happened. Actually, they brought our food to the table and there was a problem with my daughter and her friends food. Mine was okay. She waited some time for the server to come back to let them know. After 30 minutes of not seeing the server she went to the front of the restaurant to let them know the problem. After another 30 minutes they finally brought their meals to them. By that time I was just about finished with my meal. We continued to sit there for another 45 minutes to an hour and we hadnt seen our server for the check. I feel we were totally ignored our whole time here. My daughter finally said she would go ask for the check and pay it from the front desk. Finally, as we were preparing to pay and leave when we saw our server by the front desk. It had been a total of 2 1/2 hours without the server not really caring to ask anything about our meal or any acknowledgement of our dining there. I saw the manager just before leaving and asked if they discontinued the birthday song and things and he told me that they still do it. I left from there feeling like I could have just went to any other mediocre eating establishment. The view was great but that service just offset the whole mood of my special day.

Let me start by saying that I came in with low expectations about food quality due to having a bad experience at another location. I only came here for one reason my cousin insisted it was legitimate. SERVICE : We were greeted immediately when arrived, and our server was very friendly and quick to serve us. We were even approached by a friendly older gentleman asking us about our experience and ensuring we were being helped. I am assuming he was a manager? FOOD: I was able to try the Nachos appetizer and was totally impressed! The chicken was nicely done along with the guacamole, and all in other ingredients were true to the Fresh Mex advertisement. I also tried the Chicken Flautas and OMG! SO GOOD! This was an amazing dish. Not only was the presentation excellent, but all the textures and flavors very fresh. ENVIRONMENT: Great atmosphere near the Marina. Tables were fairly clean. Only reason I gave a 4 was because at the booth where we had our dinner had a very dusty overhead lamp. They need to ensure they are dusting or it might drop into the food. PRICE: I thought the price was good for the amount of food we received and the service we received. RECOMMENDATION : YES YES YES!

Apparently the manager and the staff do not know the parts of a chicken and think their clients dont either. They were trying to convince us that a quarter chicken contains both white a dark meat. Anyone who thinks that should not me let anywhere near a restaurant. A quarter chicken is either all dark or all white meat. We ordered all white and received one breast and one and one leg and thigh. Then the manager tried to tells us how when you butcher a chicken it results in a mix of both and he couldnt bring me an all white quarter. Worse than that he tried to convince the person who had all white that she was stupid and had eaten a thigh without knowing it. Dont try to bully clients and expect them to be happy bring what they order, apologize for mistakes and save the BS for your off hours. And be an honest broker. When you promise to credit the bill for chicken I couldnt eat then do it. Which he didnt if I could give a zero I would. Boo to Chevys.

I chose chevys to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. My husband and I were so excited to spend time together for our anniversary. We were so disappointed. Our server took 45 min to bring our bar drinks. My husband ordered a blended mango margarita, by the time he got it, it had melted, so we had to wait another 20 minutes to have it re-made. The 2nd time it was blended but did not taste anything like mango. Bye the time our food came out my husband was nauseous and couldnt eat. He got sick and went outside . Our server never checked on us once. I had to ask for boxes and my check, it took another 15 minutes. I just wish once when I go out to get great service, the kind of service I would give to my guests. It was our 25 th anniversary, I just wanted to have a good time with my husband, it was a special day . I guess it was to much to ask.
