This is probably one of the few buildings that stands out in Castro Valley and probably the best burger diner in town. Anybody who doesnt eat meat Id recommend you to try out the Black Bean Burger. I always add pepper jack cheese and sauteed mushrooms at extra cost. A fair warning to remind you that the patty is made out of beans---and you may know how that goes with your body. Their curly and sweet potato fries are decent on side. :] I would implore anybody to try out the fruity pebble milkshake! It does have the actual cereal in it and the fact it is delicious. The best time to go there is several hours before closing time---it feels odd with the employees that always look like they want to close shop early thus making me rush to eat. If you plan top get the burger, fancy fries and a milkshake as a whole meal make sure to prepare yourself with a lot of cash because it can get really pricey here.

Great burgers but proceed with caution if you go off the burger menu. Ive had a BLT with avocado which was good but I recently ordered a pulled pork sandwich and it was the worst sandwich Ive ever had and thats saying something since Im 74 years old. It was served on a hamburger bun and there was so much liquid (I wont call it juice) in the sandwich that the bread disintegrated and I had to eat the insides with a fork. The insides consisted of a couple of globs of what looked like nondescript and tasteless coleslaw and this was followed by a pile of "pulled pork" which was mostly liquid with little taste. The worst part was the pork was at least 30% blobs of fat. I couldnt finish it and for the first time ever I tossed a partly eaten sandwich in the trash. The lemonade was decent. Im still nauseous thinking about that pork.

I wont spend the money they charge for a hamburger. Im not willing to spend the money they ask for their shakes or other items either. Im not a burger fan particularly anyway. Im vegetarian and I dont care for the small but high priced veggie burger. I think of this place like I think of Vals- and that is "Whats the big deal about going to it? I feel some people just like nostalgia ; and where they spend their money and the quality of food and the stores prices doesnt really matter so long as they have a nostalgic experience. But hey, those people wont be in line in the places I like to go, so its good for all of us. Give me Nations ,Taco Bell, Raleys- Luckys-Safeway deli, or Subway any day over this place and Vals.

Your 50/50 is amazing, So good that i want to sing You can order both fries and onion rings 50/50, burger with beef and bacon with you, boy was I taken perfect blend and not too salty because other places dont do it well you see Good solid burger, slightly on the small side, but if you eat it with a side of fries, then youre good. Burger was very tasty, and it comes with a lot of condiments. The 50/50, since it has bacon, needs to be cooked medium well, and so it was with a little bit of pink. Solid burger, Id come here again. Oh, but its not too cheap, burger, fries and drink will run you about $10-12 so its not extra value meal.

This places is great if all you need/want is a burger with some non-traditional toppings on it. Their meat is flavorful and toppings are fresh. If you stray too much the compromise is its not that good. (Eg. Their coleslaw is flavorless alone but great on a burger) Prices are fair for the quality of the hamburgers. Its ran mostly as a self-service fast food joint, except for food runners. Still not sure if they bus tables because the dining area is never very tidy. (See note below) (This venues ebb and flow depends on employment turn over. As of recent it seems like they have a solid staff of front of house and back of house.)

BLVD has had an interesting journey since they opened. They started out with a bang and great food quality, and then I feel it may have fallen off. However, due to a shake and burger craving we found ourselves back here. My take - they have returned to basics, and are once again in the conversation with Vals (a NATIONALLY recognized burger). Portion sizes feel a more generous, especially on the actual burgers and sandwiches themselves. Chicken was done perfect, burgers and shakes were all great and the sides felt as good as ever. I am glad to see them back up to their "A" game.

So heres the deal. The food is really good, however the Im only giving 3 stars as I tried to call in an order 2 hours before they closed and some girl picked up the phone and yelled " were NOT taking any orders" and slammed the phone down. No sorry, no thank you for call but.... Not even a hello, it was just screaming at customers over the phone and hanging up on them.... Really classy behavior. Its a shame they allow bad manners to represent them and drive customers away. :( This happened about a month and half ago but I just got around to writing a review.

Great food. Family friendly. Homemade ranch wasnt anything special, but everything else was good. Shakes were especially delicious. 8/4 - Downgrade from 5 to 3. Second visit was a disaster. Wife added avocado and got the pit. The entire pit. On a burger. How does that get missed? Boys milk was spoiled, but not past the expiration date.

I think the food was OK. The servers are really quiet. I wasnt a fan of the chili cheese fries because it isnt shredded cheddar, its made with cheese wiz. The price is great but the dining area isnt very clean. Everything is sticky and the bottles are terribly dirty. I think it just needs some love or a little more attention.

Frightening. Their "medium - juicy burger" was a dark brown all the way through and had no flavor. The milk shakes were thin (esp. compared to Vals). The only good thing was their fries. Id heard good things before. I guess I should give them one more try. If they dont do better, its adios.

Delicious but expensive. Also, the line management is terrible. Seems like you have to wait a long time to order. This seems like a fancy burger restaurant smashed together with a corner dive fast food joint. But, tastes great in any case. Curly fries are good!!!

BLVD Burger is our favorite burger place. If you want a good burger, this is the place to go. We have never had anything less than a great burger here. The meat is perfectly seasoned with amazing flavor. The garlic fries are great too.

Great burger joint in Castro Valley. But compared it to other burger places not in Castro Valley, I would say the burger and the sweet potato fries I ordered were average. The decor is hip for this town. Interesting beer selection.
