Hmm.... Well, I love Burger! It is great from the style and atmosphere of the place to the creative selection of signature burgers to the amazingly long list of awesome beers at the bar, Burger is the shizzle. Also, have you been to the tap takeover? Where a local-ish brewery comes by and brings a bunch of their experimental brews and they put them on the taps and you can get a sampler of like ten beers for ten bucks? I havent been in a while but wow that is so awesome when that happens. Sometimes you get free pint glasses too and well, what can go wrong with drinking tons of beer and eating a juicy burger? It seems they have an affirmative action plan for cute ditzy college girls, and I am okay with that. Is that allowed though? Whatever Burger, someone has to hire them! I would give it five, but they do mess some stuff up, like one in five visits maybe the order comes out kinda wrong. I usually luck out, but have been shafted a once or twice with a burger that was wrong in some way, and Ive seen buddies get their orders really late for no reason or missing some thing or other. Whatever. A grass fed burger with blue cheese and bacon with all the fixins and a whole wheat bun with a side of fries for 7.50 is a good deal in my book. Yeah, the beer is expensive, the fry portions are shrinking, but I still think the overall awesomeness of Burger is stayin the same. Keep crankin em out Burger and I will keep eatin them.

I live three blocks away from Burger. and used to love to walk there with my son and girl friend whenever I was in the mood for a burger and fries. I say "used to" because I probably will not be making that trip again any time soon as our last visit there soured me on the place. My girl friend and I walked over as usual and ordered the usual. Two The Dudes (bacon and Avo). When the burgers came it was obvious there had been a mistake. There were only a few fries in the container. We asked the waitress to give us more fries and she informed us that the new policy was that the fries that come with the burger are a "sampling" of fries and that if we wanted more we would have to order some. Well, first of all, the burgers, while tasty, are pretty small and are not worth the $7.50, since you only get one piece of bacon and a smear of avo. But, with fries, I could have lived with it, since I really enjoy the beer selection. Its a shame that Burger. is gouging its customers right after becoming established in that location. I suppose the best thing for me to do would be to grab a burrito from the Taqueria across the street and walk over to Burger. to get a beer and eat the burrito. Its just not worth spending $30 for a couple of tiny burgers and a couple of beers.

We started coming here in 2011 and over the years, everything at this place has gone downhill. The burgers have been gradually getting smaller and more expensive. One time we came in as they were updating their menu and they refused to honor the lower prices they advertised on their website. The prices online and on their new menu on the wall were considerably different, so we walked out and went to Betty Burgers. We decided to give it another try about a year later and I have no clue why we thought wed suddenly be impressed. This last time (and I mean the last time we went and the last time we will ever come back), I ordered a veggie burger and my boyfriend ordered a beef burger. Both burgers were the size of burgers from McDonalds. And Im talking about the dinky $1 burgers from McDonalds. Dont let the trendy facade of this restaurant fool you like it has done to us multiple times. Its just another sub-par restaurant. Do yourself a favor and check out Betty Burgers or AJs where they offer consistent quality and reasonable prices.

DaveM, Eureka CA (Humboldt County) - April 14th, 2012 Disregard what those less than five star ppl said. They dont know what theyre talking about. Today was my first day at burgerDOt and we found the place to be the best burger place in StaCruz; and weve tried all of em b/c were " burger snobs ". The burgers were hot and totally priced fairly. The Humboldt beef was the first cow meat in town that didnt make you want to gag! The sweet-potato fries were ultra crispy and hot. The shake was light and yummy. Lots of people in line to order but the crew was fast to get to us AND the food came out surprisingly quickly. The ambience was as close to Arcata eateries as youll ever find, no pretentious ppl here. Were avoiding the other places from now on and will communte way far from Capitola to go only there! If you dont like it then keep on going to Mcdonalds and BK, these days the price tag at BurgerDOT is practically cheaper. .

vegans: get the El Chavo made vegan during May. Its a special this month only. Also burger had their anniversary so burgers are 20% off! (5/2017) As you may know the staff & ambiance are really nice. WIFI: theres working wireless here but its not operated by the coffee shop. The SSID (wifi beacon) is BurgerGuest with password hankwilliams. Its painfully slow at 3Mbps. If youre just doing e-mail or instant messenger it might work for you. Vegans & vegetarians should come over on (meatless) Monday when burger. offers discounted vegi burgers. Order the Hank Williams burger substituting their homemade veggie patty, hold the aioli/mayo stuff and substitute fakin bacon. Ask them to add jalapeño if you can handle the spice. Its killer. As always, you need to specify vegan so that theyll remove the cheese. In all, this place is worth a visit.

Lets get one thing straight: this place is a bar. Thats all it really is. Its called "Burger" and they have really crazy burgers combinations, but most of them dont really work. Theyre just random for the sake of being bizarre and eye catching, not because theyre tasty. Ive tried this place on three separate occasions with friends, but were resigned not to give it any further chances. Their burgers are strictly worse than the local diner fair(e.g. Jefferys, Walnut, or Zacharys). And theyre horribly underseasoned and often overcooked. I couldnt even begin comparing them to Bettys, or even some of the better bar-food spots like Rosies. Theyre just not in the same league. A few steps above a Jack in the Box, but not much. Come here to drink, but please go to the nearest McDonalds or BK for food.

I have been to Burger since they opened. I found that the first time I went in there the food was awesome, but as I continue to come it is progressively getting worse. I just waited an hour to get my food, when I noticed that people behind me in line were eating and finishing their food, I decided to ask why our order was taking so long. They said that the order was lost. When it finally came I had to take it to go since I have a 2 years old boy who was getting impatient. Then I get to my car, open the box and one of my main toppings on the bugger was missing, and the fries where cold. WTF? It is such a shame because this place has the potential to be something really good. I usually dont write bad reviews, but this time I feel like I have to.
