My familys experience here was awful. Im making an effort to actually put my review for this place on more than one board. Thats how awful it was. We got there around 8pm and said it would be 45 minutes for dining outside or we could be seated right away indoors, so we decided to be seated since we were really hungry. They took our drink orders, it arrived promptly and then took our food orders. After about 25 minutes we were wondering what the hell was going on back their (and our drinks were completely gone, and no one has come back to check on us). We talked to the young man at the front who seated us what was going on and he apologized for the wait and would see what the hold up was. So, then we got this snobby young brat who was answering the phones in the front to say that we really shouldnt have been seated because they were so busy and should have waited to been seated. (If we had to wait, we wouldnt have eaten their) She was blaming the young man for seating us, when in fact I saw him go ask her if he should seat us. What a piece of work that woman is! On top of the snobby attitudes, people around us were getting served drinks, no food, so Im wondering.....Are they killing that damn cow back their, and are they fishing for my damn shrimp or what?! No one else was eating, everyone was getting drunk around us, so what the hell is taking so long??!! It took 2 hours from the time we got their, to the time we left to eat and get the hell outta their!! Now, my extended family is hispanic and cannot speak english, so my husband and I did most of the talking. They felt very discriminated against because of their skin color and lack of communication. I would totally agree with them, just because when the bill came they were watching us like a hawk! May I say, I left them a $1 tip!! They didnt even deserve that, but the waitress kept looking at me while I was counting the change she gave back to me. Never eat here if you want to be treated with respect and dignity!!! Oh yea, did I say the food is crappy too?????!!! Not worth the $130 price tag for 4 adults and 1 child. (And thats with the drinks being comp too)

Horrible experience!!! After a long drive from LA, my wife and I stopped here for dinner. We thought the menu looked nice and wanted to eat somewhere near the beach with a view. We were seated outside near a small fire pit and were excited for a great dinner. However, after 25 minutes no one had acknowledged our presence!! They werent particularly busy and there were at least (3) servers! walking around on the small patio. One particular blonde waitress, serving the table behind us, wouldnt even make eye contact with us despite her having to bump into my chair each time she poured them a glass of wine. She evidently was more concerned with impressing the table ordering bottles of wine than even getting us a glass of water! My wife and I were dressed very casually and wondered if this was the local "fancy" eatery - fancy used very liberally. We, being from NYC, know you never judge a customer by their appearance, but we can only guess thats what happened with us. We tried to get the servers attention to no avail. We simply walked out after 25 minutes of staring at each other. I hope these snotty little waitresses come to a real city sometime and see how proper service is done! Dont bother going here. Drive to Santa Cruz.

The food makes everyone happy. The Ahi Tuna Salad was terrific because it was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and excellently crusted with back and white sesame seeds. Went back for dinner a week later and had the sugar and spice salmon. It was cooked moist, had a good dusted crust, and was very flavorful. I also got some bites of the Filet Mignon and was totally surprised it was better than a steak house because it was tender and tasty. Both entrees paired very well with the Windy Oaks Pinot Nior. Best fries by far and kids get a Frisbee to take home. I will be back in Paradise the next time I am in Capitola for no doubt! The setting is also very beautiful.

Theres a grimy local crowd that doesnt play pool fair. You agree to their game and we you beat them they change the rules on you then the bounces kick you out of the bar. Ive been here for brunch aND loved it but now that Ive been and been discriminated against for not being an every day local Im done with this place. If you are not a Monday night bat goer I encourage you to also boycott this bar for the sake of not being treated as an equal. I will be reportng this to Santa cruz county. This business should bctshamed of their malpractices. Please do not visit this establishment In effort.to equalize consume activism. Thank you for your efforts.

It was happy hour and we asked if we could sit on patio. Yes, as long as we buy an appetizer. Ok. We sat on the patio and had to ask about the happy hour menu. I chose a margarita (sort of on the happy hour menu) but since we were on the patio it would be 10.50 but if we went inside it would be 6.50. We went inside and sat down but then were told our table had to be relocated because they have live music. We left and went to Margarita Ville which was a tremendous decision. They let us sit on the patio and enjoy happy hour and be happy. We are Latinos and not sure if we were discriminated at Paradise Grill but sort of felt like it.

We had an amazing evening here. The service is excellent, the food we tried was all excellent. The views are of the ocean, pier and boats. Just lovely. The team members we met were really outstanding. Kristy is one of three managers and was on duty that evening Our server was Nicole and Sophia was the bus person. They were all amazingly friendly and helpful. Everything we ordered was excellent. the Soup Du Jour was artichoke soup and it was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and will return as soon as I can get back to lovely Capitola.

Not kids friendly...not even friendly! We came in with 12 months baby in a stroller. We were "welcomed" by an unsmiling waitress who took us to the terrasse and then suddenly took off without saying anything! After 5 another waitress came and denied any waitress took us in mentioning as well that strollers were not accepted in the restaurant. No need to say we did not stay a minute longer. Ended up at Zeldas down the road. It was roomy on their terrasse right on the beach. Staff was very nice!

The drinks are a joke...a bloody Mary was vodka and tomato juice with a piece of celery and a stick with an onion and pepperoncini...nothing else...really. ($10 ea) The outdoor patio was too small and cramped with no shade. Menu was good, but the food was marginal, and way over-priced. Service was good. Youre paying for a view of a smelly river. Just another Capitola tourist trap whereby they dont expect returning locals...and wont get us.
