Best BBQ anywhere. Ive been all over the US and the world... no BBQ that matches Eds Sierra Smokehouse. Ed buys quality and big ribs so it takes longer to cook right. If you are coming back from skiing in Tahoe or just a local YOU MUST GO HERE!!!!! Be aware.. they tend to be a little slow with the service so dont be in a hurry. But I can guarantee you the small wait is worth it. Call 30-45 minutes ahead for a larger order or better yet call hours ahead and they will have it ready when you arrive. They have seating for probably 30-40 if you need to eat in with several TVs for you to watch. Try their cowboy baked beans. They have chunks of brisket in them.

We could smell the BBQ in the parking lot. The food is incredible and the staff is incredibly friendly. We ordered about $100 worth of meat - 4 orders of each. The BBQ beans were awesome as well. We had a chance to meet Ed and his lovely other half today as well. This BBQ is well worth the drive. We have a new favorite place to bring friends and family. The next time we have a get together at the house, we are going to have Sierra cater the event.

Perfect stop on the way to Tahoe! Easy access off 50 Freeway, fill up with cheap gas at Arco across the street, and grab some very reasonably priced delicious BBQ at Sierra Smokehouse! I got the $9.95 lunch special: MOUND of pulled pork & two sides: Mac n cheese + mashed potatoes/gravy, and white bread included! Not to mention family friendly service thatll make Bay Area folks feel like a foothill local!

I went in a few days early to order some food for a party and met the owner. He is an amazing guy and his passion for BBQ really shows. He made sure I left knowing exactly what they had and what I wanted. The food is the best around and Im recommending it to everyone. My favorite BBQ place (in Placerville) doesnt get much love anymore now that Ive found this place.
