Inconspicuously located in Bellflower with a small parking lot attached, my sister and I only discovered this place thanks to LA Weeklys best bbq list. Since this is one of the few places within a twenty minute drive of my house, we decided to check it out. We came here at off peak time to avoid the crowd (around 3pm) and there were only a few people inside. The ambiance is pretty bare - a couple of small tables, some barstools and a patio with some seating in the back. But hey, Im there for the food! My sister and I ordered: -BBQ beef sandwich: I just have to say that the bbq sauce is a tadddd too sweet for my liking, so that applies both to the sandwich and the fries. However, the beef was deliciously thin-sliced and very tender. I could tell it was fresh and made to order, and the portion was very generous. I chose the mac n cheese as my side which was also good. Im not a big mac n cheese person but I did enjoy this portion. -Onion rings: well-battered and the onion did not separate from the batter - always a good sign. Definitely needed some dipping sauce though. -Brisket loaded fries: this on its own could have easily been our meal. I wish the fries were skinnier and crispier. But that is really my only complaint Gooey, cheesy, and the brisket just fell apart with a fork. Yum! Overall, I want to come back and try other items on the menu. I can definitely deal with the sweetness of the sauce, especially since the meat was so tender. If youre craving some ambiance, I suggest ordering to go and going on a picnic.

Usually HAmbones is my go to spot but lately idk whats going on. I placed an order over the phone today and left a call back number and when I went to pick up my order there was no fries... how do you run out of fries?? And why wouldnt she call me back when they found out the fries were unavailable. And on another occasion I ordered 13 tacos and she gives me 2 sauces and lied to me and said there was no more sauce for the night when I asked for more but when I got loud sauce magically appeared in the fridge.. idk whats going on but yall need to get it together. You guys use to have great customer service

Just left Hambones in Bellflower, and the food was superb. Two-meat combo; collard greens, cornbread, Mac and cheese, babyback ribs and chicken. The bbq sauce is tangy delicious, I almost hurt myself eating it. The Mac and cheese is perfectly seasoned. The collards are soo tender, perfect with the sweet cornbread. Oooh the meat is soooo tender to the point that you could suck the meat off the bones. Strawberry lemonade cake not so good. Can not wait to go again, must pace myself are I would be at Hambones errday! This is no joke, and no one put me up to this. LOVED IT!!!

rude cashier chick in the front. didnt hand me my change sat it down on the counter, touches her hair while preparing your order. Food isnt that good, mac n cheese is never cooked all the way through. the green beans werent prepared properly. But ill tell you this. THE OTHER LOCATION HAMBONES BAR & GRILL, ON BELMONT & BELLFLOWER BLVD. WAYYYYY BETTER! nice and polite staff. The food is great and you can dine in its an actual restaurant with a bar :)

"Hambones Made It Right" So, I went to Hambones because my G- Mom and Mom wanted rib- tips. I get home, we open our food with mouths watering for RIB -TIPS and its tri tip #%*%$! I wont go into details with my initial experience with the son, but the conclusion of the matter was, not only did I get an apology from the son and the dad but was refunded my money and given 3 rib- tip dinners! The service was horrible. No one came by. We were seated and served our food. The wait was long and food overpriced based on the reviews. The staff was a joke and lazy. They were unprofessional and just stayed in the back. To give you a picture, 15 employees and 4 tables had to get up and go to the counter to ask for water. Also my meal came with a salad that tasted like soap.

I had the tri-tip sandwich. The French roll was soft warm it held the juices from tri-tip very well. The tri-tip was super juicy and moist BBQ sauce was not overpowering. Their swamp water (sweet tea) is outta this world I must say the best Ive had in a long time. Sorry no pictures but you can go there and order one yourself youll get the picture.

This place is over rated and I went there because of the reviews on-line, however I was extremely dissapointed!! The food was below average and way too expensive! The two meat combo was $18 when every where else thats the price of a three meat combo! I would suggest Texas style BBQ on woodruff and artesia in the same shopping lot as Sizzler.

1st time today, coworker told me about it. I got a pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. You get a lot of meat on sandwich for $6.50, the Mac & Cheese (my fav food) is ok, its not cheesy how I like it. The sauce has a nice tang. They also have daily specials during the week. Ill be back, to try other stuff

Ive been going to Hambones for 3 years. Today was the firsrt time I was disappointed. The 2 racks were dry and Im not sure if someone else is bringing their meat but these were the smallest 2 orders of racks Ive ever purchased. I hope they improve. Hambones has alwas been myself and co-workers choice of ribs.

Unreal how great their food is.. My go to is the ribs and onion rings.. tell them to give u the pinkish sauce for the rings.. for a hole n the wall spot Im shocked that they actually ask me mid meal if everything came out good,u dont see that often.. I tell everyone about this place..

Amazing !!!!!! Everything that I have tried at Hambones has been the best I have ever eaten. I live in Northern Cal and Hambones has become our first stop, even before checking in to our hotel. We take our friends there when we can for this wonderful food. Thank you Hambones

First time trying this place the BBQ itself was good for "restaurant" BBQ places. The greens were salty. The "red velvet" cake was terrible, it tasted like a lemon cake and the "cream cheese frosting" tasted like they scooped it out of its package and onto the cake.

Dont order the Wednesday special A BIG DOUBLE CHEESE BURGER WITH FRIES and a drink looked great in the picture...Then it showed up the burger about 1/2 as the picture showed and only 13 fries .Not worth the wait or the money .Nothing like the picture at all

The food cant be beat! The only issue I had was that the was one girl there (hustling like crazy) taking orders, serving and answering the phones. The was no way she could keep up with the line. Luckily people know that the food is with the wait.
