Finally got around to trying this place! We were there, of course, for the 1$ ktacos, but I had to also try their japche (one of my favorite things at another Korean place Ive been). Im not an expert in ktacos, and I havent been here before to compare whether they used to be better, but I will say, they were pretty fantastically tasty, and totally worth a dollar each (except the tofu one, which was way blander than the others.) Im not an expert in japche, either, but their japche was kinda mediocre. Definitely not bad, but I wouldnt order it again (I will definitely be back eventually - I kinda want to try their bibimbap next time, though I have a feeling the *correct* order when here is just a ton of ktacos.)

Great find in downtown LA. Sura Korean BBQ & Tofu House Restaurant is awesome. One of those places where you know they put a lot of thought and care into their dishes. Its in the details that makes a restaurant/business successful. Their fried chicken is a must. Wonderful flavor and texture, accompanied with a delicious variety of sides/veggies (bibimbap). Was feeling a little sick and ordered their jook tonight (a porridge with chicken broth, chicken, and rice). It definitely hit the spot and reminded me so much of grandmas home cooking. This place serves great food with fresh ingredients and at great prices. The service is always friendly. Pretty much all you can ask for in a restaurant.

This is one of my new favorite places. The food was delicious. The services was excellent. It had a family feel to the place. It was quiet (though the place was busy), clean, and friendly. We had the Korean BBQ roll. Yummy! The tender beef, again delicious. And the Soy Noodles, very, very good! And when we said wed never had the noodles before the chef showed us how to mix the plate and even put in our bowls for us. Amazing service. Absolutely above and beyond. It definitely made me a repeat customer. The price was excellent. All that food (for two) for just over $20 dollars. And really the food we ordered could have fed 3 easily. I absolutely recommend!

I wavered between 3 and 4 stars - the food is really good, but the service is spotty. I am a regular - I am here every Tuesday for lunch. I always order the same thing, yet... often I will go in, be seated, and not have a server (the only one) come around for more than 10 minutes. Its not a huge place - probably 15 tables. They proudly offer many vegan options - but my favorite is the tofu kimchi tacos. Go on Tuesday or Thursday for their $1.25 taco deal. The soups are good, but come out in a boiling stone pot - it takes half a cup of ice before it is cool enough to even eat. Once it is cooled off though, its pretty delicious.

Horrible Korean food. They dont even have the charcoal at each table. They cook this mystery meat in the back and bring it out to you. It is on par with food you would get in a mall food court. Touch and chewy and fatty. On top of that they dont accept credit cards. They charge fees for using a debit card. And then they refuse to accept the living social coupon I bought for this because I wanted to use it on my phone rather than printing it out. Yet when I came here a few weeks back with another living social coupon I could use it on my phone. This place is a joke. If you want real Korean food drive into the city.

My friend and I were visiting from MN. We had researched Korean restaurants in the area and decided that we would go to SuRa being that it was closest to us. The food was really delicious (Korean Tacos are so much win). Id suggest trying the ice cream, its really nice. The server was really fun to talk with, and he made sure we had everything we wanted. It was nice to sit down and eat there. Its small and very cozy. We werent sure how we were going to feel about it, but we will be visiting for sure, at least once, before we head home. (Also, I personally give them brownie points for playing kpop)

It was the worst experience ever. I ordered those glass noodles with veggies and meat. And as Im eating my food I notice the taste isnt really that great or fresh. But later I see some kind of bug coming out of my food and then another one literally walking between the meat. I felt so disgusted especially because I had already ate a portion of it. But after seeing that I called the waitress and let her know about it and left. I would NOT recommend this place at all. It is obviously filthy an who knows if theirs roaches. I feel sorry for the people that continue attending a place like this.

They have awesome food! It is the best authentic korean food restaurant in Long Beach. Omg their banchan... Omg... Their banchan.. Tastes just like home. If you wanna try authentic korean food made by loving korean hands, give Sura Korean BBQ & Tofu House Restaurant a try. Sura Korean BBQ & Tofu House Restaurant literally means "Moms Sister" or "Aunt". Its like you suddenly have a korean aunt who makes you amazing korean food anytime you want. Awesome!!! I swear everything on the menu is freakin fantastic.

I went to eat here with my friend who also left a review and got a bad response from management. Anyway we were served fish broth, cream and milk as vegans. Problem is, shellfish allergies are huge and theyre LUCKY none of us had said allergy because as my roommate said, we would have been sent to the hospital, Kitchen Nightmares-style. And managements idea of an apology is almost comically deplorable. Cant feel good about going back, thats for sure.

Such a wonderful Korean restaurant. I usually dont like Korean food, but this place is too good to say no. The owner (a really cute Korean grandma) is super sweet and always attentive when you need anything. The portion of the food is big, so its better to share and not order too much food. If you do order too much, make sure you take the leftovers home! The grandma does not like that and she might lecture you a little (in a nice and sincere tone).

We ordered sooo much food, and the bill was only $34! I wanted to try everything! We got spicey pork tacos, bulgogi with all of the sides, a huge plate of tempura veggies, and steamed vegetable dumplings on a bed of spinach. The sides were really fresh, kimchi and the daikon are my fav. I cant rave enough about this place how good the food is. And we brought so much home that we have another meal for both of us. Excellent date night!

Passing through Long Beach did a quick search on Google maps for vegetarian, veg-friendly Korean BBQ caught my eye. Got lucky on our visit: there was a food festival going and they had a special prix fix menu with a veg option in each course. Outstanding! So good. Will definitely come back and try their regular menu, which also has a good sized veg section. Friendly and casual place.
