Was looking for a new spot to check out for dinner and stumbled upon this place. First impression....the girl at the hostess stand, was very much not the hostess and didnt seem to have a clue what was going on. Somebody finally came over that understood what was happening and seated us on the patio. Our server was great and attentive. The chips and salsa are different than what you expect, but delicious at that! For dinner, we ordered the pork carnitas and chicken quesadilla. Everything was outstanding. The prices are a bit steeper than you would expect at a typical Mexican restaurant, but that is because this is not typical. It is more authentic and less Tex Mex. I would love to come back and try some of the other menu items.

I went to Sol for the first time last night for happy hour. I had the chicken tacos. I left and went home. Around 2am I started to not feel well. Thats an under statement...I was sick until 7am! I got food poisoning!!! Do yourself a favor dont ever eat there! Ive been going to Blue Agave for years...Ive never been sick from eating there! The customer service was absolutely the worst Ive experienced in this town! I didnt leave a tip, they didnt deserve one! They never asked if I needed anything , they had a bad attitude and were not friendly! I tried to ask for the check and I literally had to yell across the bar to get their attention! Unbelievable! Do yourself a favor stay away!!!

Ive been there a few times with family and its been great each time. The overall experience is what you expect when you dine near Scottsdale Quarter. Ive had their pulled pork which doesnt look like anything special but tastes fantastic. Ive also sampled their fish and pork tacos also worth a four star rating. The rice and beans that accompany both plates arent bland but nor are they bold enough on their own. What I highly recommend is their guacamole for their toasted chips.Very good. Thought parking isnt the greatest on that side of the quarters its well worth the trip.

We were there for a fundraiser so had a private room, but we also sat and ate a meal. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The appetizers for the fundraiser were a little unambitious; for example, the ceviche served on cucumber slices was bland and the cucumber slices way too thick. For dinner, I started with tortilla soup. Let me just say that it was the largest bowl of tortilla soup I have ever seen; and I am a bug guy so I like to eat, but this was just way too much, and again, it was a touch bland. Others in my party had tacos and were very happy.

We tried Sol for the first time last night and it was EXCELLENT. The watermelon margarita was easily the best Ive ever had and their carne asada street tacos were divine. Mmmm my mouth is watering just thinking of it. My husband had the viper and vampiro tacos and loved every bite. Service was great. Manager came to check on us and was very friendly and accomodating. Also, atmosphere and ambiance were great. Its beautiful inside. Overall, a fantastic experience. Perfect date night with the hubby. We will definitely be going again soon.

we went to this restaurant today and we never ever going to go back to this again. The staff was so rude. My wife some food and 2 shots, she started throwing up soon after she finished the food. She never thrown up before like this and she is felt so sick. The staff instead of helping her to get in the car they were using the all F words to get out of there, they are such a rude people. Food is not also not good.it is waste of money going here.

The food was wonderful and the tacos were amazing! Unfortunately, I and my two young daughters all got food poisoning. We traced it back to the black beans...On a completely seperate occasion, my sister and her kids got sick from the black beans as well. We love this restaurant but will not go back as its not worth getting sick again. Management, please figure out what is wrong with your black beans storage/preparing process and fix it!!!!

We had a good time. We ordered the guac which was a little bland by itself but they do accompany it with an offering of salt, lime and chilies for you to spice it up to your liking. Wife had the shrimp taco and sweet potato taco, I had the pork carnitas. Both were excellent. We also had the house margaritas. These were very sweet, not sure if I could have had more than one. Overall good job and we will be back.

Better than outstanding!! Spoiled now for normal Mexican restaurants. Service is personal without intrusion (Katie, Joel are rock stars) and absolutely every time they go the extra mile to make my meal a true experience. Highly recommended for all occasions from large parties, family dinners to romantic couple. Happy hour menu is a wonderful deal as well. So darn unique and the location is prime. ENJOY!

Two stars for really wonderful wait-staff and hostesses with the most-ess, but the food was luke warm. Maybe not even that warm. I fear a Chipotle kind of epidemic coming soon. When meat is cooked and left in a vat at room temp, bad bacteria takes over rather quickly. My carne beef tacos were raw and luke warm" not a good combo. RECIPE for Food Born ILLNESS. Turn up the heat.

The worst waiter and management did not have a clue! My friends have kept telling me to not give this place another chance and now I am convinced it cannot be a good restauyrant in Scottsdale, time for a professional restaurant in its place. Hit and miss service and quality is the very best I can say to this sub par restaurant.

This is 95% bar and 5% food experience. If you are looking for a fun bar, then come here! If you want a good food experience serving not just quality but also authentic food, you must look elsewhere. Average food at best, would hardly call it Mexican. Way overpriced, for what they consider to be Mexican food.

Was here for a work party so didnt get to actually order a meal, instead getting a bunch of samples. Everything we were given was pretty fantastic. Open bar with Macallan 18 and Walker Blue was a nice touch. :-P 4-stars due to the fact that getting in and out of this mall-ish type place is a huge pain.

Tasteless carne asada tacos chopped up like dog food tortas were better but too small to just the price. We were very disappointed drinks were good but also too expensive. Go elsewhere ignore the hype I really wanted to like this place good vibe but you cant eat atmosphere!

We were in Scottsdale for a conference. We tried this place, and had a wonderful experience. The food was fresh, delicious, with a different spin on Mexican food. They have two dished with goat cheese, I would try both. We will definitely go back when in town again.
