Weve been steady customers since theyve opened. Theyre usually pretty good at getting the to go orders right. My wife orders double rice since she cant eat the beans. They forgot to give them to add them with her enchiladas. They barely give you any sauce anymore with the enchiladas. So now our food is getting cold with the inconvenience of time and the cost of gas to go back up there. The older woman owner that she spoke to on the phone was extremely rude when asked if she would compensate with some salsa and chips. Thats not asking a lot and isnt expensive. Most restaurants would gladly do that especially for their good customers. She wouldnt even give a little bit of extra enchilada sauce since they are so dry anymore. She said that would be extra. My wife told her that wasnt nice to treat their loyal customers that way. She said there are a lot of Mexican places to choose from. She said "I know, but your only getting what you paid for." We stopped at La Frontera out by Sandy, coming home from shopping one day. They are priced about the same but the drive is a bit farther. The food is so much saucier with better spices and a bit more kick. Because of the old woman owners customer service at La Luna, it will be worth the drive. Adios La Luna! You just lost some good customers! The one star is for the old woman owner. They should let her retire. She has no customer service skills. This is our second incident with her and she was just as rude. She didnt even have the nerve to come out and confront us when we came to pick up the missing rice. I feel sorry for the younger woman owner. Too bad she wasnt there today. We may have received good customer service from her. If shes reading this, I always wear utah ute gear and ask for the large combo with the taco and tostadas on the side. My wife orders the 2 enchiladas with no beans but double rice.

I went here one night with my wife for dinner. It was a friday night and it was really busy, so I thought this place must have been good. I couldnt have been more wrong. I couldnt even finish my meal nor could my wife because the food tasted so bad. The chips were stale and tasteless, the salsa tasted watery and not fresh. The meal was the worst part. The rice was bland and overcooked, the beans were the only thing that I could eat. I ordered the shredded beef enchilada and what I got was canned dog food wrapped in a old corn tortilla covered in some disgusting sauce. Like I said before, this was the worst mexican food Ive ever eaten in my life. I will never go back to this place or recommend it to anyone. Hell, even Taco Bell has better mexican food that this place. Terrible food and terrible service. I had to track down our waitress just to get a refill on our drinks. The only time they ever came over was to take the order, drop off the food and pick up the check. Other than that, I had to get her attention for anything else. And to top it all off, the place was dirty; the floor, the tables, the chairs, practically everything. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TASTE BUDS AND EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!

We (my wife and I) give La Luna a 2 star, at best. The food was okay, service was a bit slow (on a non packed lunch service). What concerned us was, the restraunt has a front and back seating area. When my wife and I were being seated, we both noticed that 6 tables were available in the front end, but we got seated in the back room (overflow/banquet room area). However we noticed the only other couple seated were another Caucasian couple, after a while 3 other Caucasian couples where seated in the backroom as well. After finishing our lunch, we approached the counter to pay, my wife and I noticed the only folks sitting in the front section of the restaurant were Hispanic. Plus there were even more seats availble in the front area than before when we came in. La Luna isnt the only Mexican resturaunt in the Salt Lake Valley that does this. It is a rude and disgusting practice of racial favoritism and discrimination. It needs to stop.

Been going here for years, but the new place, we waited 50 minutes for our food, they brought my wife the wrong food, and they four-day brought out 2 plates first and about 5 minutes later they brought out two more plates and then 5 minutes later they brought out my plate, my wifes order was wrong, they brought my friend the wrong beer, and my ribs were burnt, I told the waitress and she knocked off 2/3 The price because I had try and easy two ribs and the three tablespoon of beans they gave me, they did five me about 2 cups of rice though, which I barely touched since I like to eat my rice with the beans. I told the waitress and she said I should of told her about it when it took her 10 minuted to check on us, Ive already waited an hour and filled up on chips. I then thought I would tell the manager about our experience and he didnt even respond he just handed me the receipt to sign it. Wtf

Customer service was the worst out of any restaurant Ive ever been to in my life. The people that work upfront are really rude and dont make you feel welcome. They should be fired. Another time I came into eat 20 minutes before they closed and they refused me service.. That is another reason why their service is horrendous, awful.. I have been coming there for 10+ years and the service and food has been getting awful they should go out of business.. They should have realized Im a regular customer and allowed me and my pregnant girlfriend to eat 20 minutes before it closed. I dont think Ill ever go back.. No one should go here anymore its awful food and service. The only thing that is ok on the menu is the choke verde burritos other than that their meat is dry and their food is very bland and basic. I dont recommend anyone should go. They should be put out of business

Ive never had a bad experience at La Luna. The place is almost always packed for a reason. They have awesome food and large portions. The service is always great also. My girlfriend and I have to eat there at least once every month or so. Its definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants for the food and price. Their fried ice cream is a great surprise. We ordered a smothered bean and cheese burrito, chile verde with onion, cheese and beans, fried ice cream and two waters today. Our bill was $15.72. Not bad at all. We have been to other Mexican restaurants around the valley and cant find many that compare to La Luna. La Puente is the only other one that is up to the caliber of La Luna. Im surprised they havent opened more.

Blegh! Been here twice, and both times I was utterly disappointed. Chips and salsa are very mediocre and the rest of their food is just about as exciting. Had their chicken chimichanga both times thinking the first time it was just a bad cook or something, but it was the same experience the second time as well. It literally has only chicken in it. No cheese, no sauce, no nothing, so its extremely dry and underwhelming. Their rice and beans are flavorless, and their sour cream comes in a packet! Seriously, who does that?! Cant remember what my husband ordered, but his was gross too. Their service wasnt horrendous, but wasnt very good either. Wont be coming back here again, thats for sure.
