Beautiful restaurant! We went there for our 1st wedding anniversary, and sat on the patio. Views are lovely, atmosphere was great. A hand-written card from the Manager was a really neat touch. Service was PERFECT, and I cant stress this enough! I am particularity picky, having worked in a five diamond resort for 10 years, 4 of which were in fine restaurants, so I always notice more things than my company cares for. :) Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, both personable and professional, but he was not hovering over us too much. There is nothing I find more annoying (and this normally happens in fine restaurants), than your server making your entire evening into his/her recital, or asking how your food is before you even had the chance to taste it. Everyone at the restaurant we interacted with greeted us with a warm smile, and was helpful. Timeliness of service was impeccable: table was cleared on time, courses went out just on time, but not too soon to make us feel rushed. Food was also lovely. Tuna tartar looked beautiful, and my husband liked it. I had the squash soup, which was so flavorful, and the presentation was great. It breaks my hart that I could not have steak, as I like mine medium rare, but am pregnant. Thats all right, I lived vicariously trough my husband, and my fish was delicious. He says his steak was phenomenal: perfectly cooked and seasoned. I tried the sauces (they brought three different ones, as were indecisive), and all were great. The sides were delicious too. The only thing I did not love, was the side of mac n cheese, but this comes from the self-professed mac n cheese snob (I really prefer strong creamy cheeses, and I feel cheddar is derived from some sort of plastic). Prices were OK for a restaurant of this rating, and especially considering the generous portions. Their most expensive steak is the Porterhouse ($60.00), and it is absolutely HUGE (24 oz). Priced and portioned for two really. Deserts was beautifully presented, (we received complimentary carrot cake). Though I am not a huge fan of carrot cake, this one was delicious. I also liked the mango and carrot sorbet on it (which I think they are making from scratch, and the carrot one was brilliant). All in all, great restaurant, well worth the price and I highly recommend it. - Bojana H.

In a word: Excellent. My friends and I took a bachelor party trip to AZ for Spring Training and we came across J&G. When we arrived, the hostess let us know that our table should be ready shortly. 20-30 minutes passed and we were finally seated. It was a rainy night in AZ so I think diners were staying a bit longer than normal. While I would normally condemn a place for seating me 30m late, the response was too amazing not to come on here and write about it. When we were seated, the waiter, Jeff, informed us that we would be receiving a complimentary appetizer for the wait. This gesture alone likely wouldve sufficed but the manager came to our table shortly after and said that the first round of drinks would also be complimentary. We were quite satisfied at this point with the apology. Over the course of dinner, Jeff was amazing. If you decide to go, you should request a table of his. He saw to every detail/request with ease. Just impeccable service. So, the bill finally arrived after a 2+ hour meal and we discovered that the restaurant had comped ALL of our drinks. This apology more than made up for the wait. We were all floored. I guess I should probably talk about the food too. It was incredible. Every thing we tried was amazing. Too many things to list. Request Jeff and ask him what to get. He will not steer your wrong. Bravo J&G!

Where to begin...had dinner last evening with 12 friends. 6:30 reservations and sat down promptly. That was the last the good. Really poor service for our group. It took a long time to order round of drinks and bottles of wine. Ordering food seemed painful...For the server. He stopped mid order to take care of drinks. Two of our friends ordered medium rare steaks and they came medium well. Returned food and never got their order(by then it was after 9) so order was cancelled. We did not get timely service and it was after 10 before we paid the bill and prepared to leave. Several of us had food boxed up to take with us. We received a "tag" with a number on it to retrieve our food upon departure. Great idea but when we got up to leave no one was around to retrieve food. No hostess, no bartender...no one around to help us. We finely flagged down a waiter ( not ours) and he retrieved food. Great views, atmosphere nice...but that where it ends. Food overpriced and service was beyond horrible! Do not recommend this venue unless you have 4+ hours to kill. I should not even give it 2 stars. No manager checked on a group of13 spending BIG bucks

Our experience at J & G Steakhouse was nothing less than fantastic. Our server, Greg, first suggested a riesling trio. All of these were so wonderful and complementary to our meal. We then ate their warm rolls which were rich and slightly sweet. For our appetizers, we tried the sweet and sour pork belly as well as the tuna tartare. I cant decide which tasted better. Get both! For dinner, we shared a petite filet, the BBQ flat iron steak and the alaskan halibut. The steaks were cooked perfectly rare as we asked and the BBQ was our favorite. The only thing we didnt like was their J&G Steak sauce. Next came our dessert. We had ordered the warm chocolate cake with caramel ice cream. Perfect for chocolate lovers!!! It was our 1yr wedding anniversary, so they also brought out the Raspberry and Rose Pavlova Crisp Meringue, Raspberry Sorbet. BEST THING WE HAD ALL NIGHT! We would go back just to eat this again. Finished off the meal with hot tea.....voila! Perfect evening, perfect restaurant, perfect service, perfect food. Thank J&G for making our night memorable.

Really awful experience at this place. My wife and I went there for our anniversary dinner and were sorely dissappointed. They need to figure out what kind of atmosphere they are trying to create, the hosts demeanor was condescending and rude, snotty and not at all accomodating, as if we would be lucky to have him seat us! The waitress made us feel like we were in a burger joint. Fancy "airs" up front, but sloppy and unprofessional service at the table, better suited to an Applebees. The food was average. Definitely not worth the price. Too bad as the previous occupant, "Mary Elaines" would cringe to see her space defiled by such poor excuse for a restaurant.

Taking the elevator to J&G always makes me happy. The doors open and we step out to find the view of the beautiful Phoenician and the gorgeous mountains. Sometimes we go for a quick dinner at the bar with Julie who has been there since they opened. Many times well make reservations for the dining room. When the weather is nice dining on the patio al fresco rocks. Some of my favorite dinners have included seafood like their chilled lobster starter and a dover sole like no other always cooked to perfection. It always feels like a mini stayacation just dining at J&G. Special shout out to the chef Jacques and the GM Patrick for always taking care of our family.
