We took our kids there (at the time, they were almost one and the other was celebrating her second birthday). The wait for the food was a bit long, but they were pretty packed. The food, while a tad on the pricey side, was all good. My daughter got nervous around the elephants during the storm part, but our son (infant at the time) took the elephants cries as a challenge and roared back. The waitress did all she could to get us a comfortable fit in the crowded restaurant. The kids also loved looking through the gift shop. For those of you complaining about the cost of the food, think for a second- How high do you think their utility bills are?! That is a lot of electricity, maintenance, and water (because you know, actual aquariums) to go through. Not everyone buys from the gift shop, of course the food will be high. Most people I see complaining about food prices here ordered freaking seafood and the most expensive desserts, so OF COURSE your food will be expensive. Have some common sense, add up the cost of your food since the prices are on the menu, and budget yourself. This is a novelty restaurant. Anyway, my daughter wants to go back for her next birthday, so we will be taking them back this year. My son has a wheat intolerance and I hear that Rainforest Cafe is very accommodating with gluten free needs, so I have high hopes.

I had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe in Tempe AZ a few weeks ago. The food was adequate, and the staff was courteous, I even dated a few of the waitresses. But that was how I learned of the special hell that they, and the rest of the kitchen/server staff, endured everyday at the hands of the most incompetent, purposely negligent, and abusive restaurant management I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Im still not sure what the worst part was... -was it that the mostly low income server staff never washes their hands? -was it that there is a persistent roach problem? -or was it the overly priced/iced drinks? And Im also having trouble deciding which would be worse to deal with: 1. The slobbering equivalent of Former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford that the General Manager is [just with not as much meth abuse] But he is definitely abusing some sort of vice, maybe just booze, but heavy marijuana would also account for the strange behavior I was witness to [long cigarette breaks in his big red pickup, parked in his covert manager only parking spot...] Or 2. The sneaky, high-school level maturity and bullying tactics that shift leads use to harass employees into either quitting or shutting up about their sexual harassment complaints. What kind of a company allows this level of treatment in this day and age?

First time here, we got seated next to the elephants. They had a thunderstorm show. The show was fun but the food wait was pretty long. It look 40 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food and this is not during rush hour. My son was pretty fussy because he was really hungry. It would have been nice to give my son a cracker or something while we waited so long. I do remember the waitress coming up and asking if everything was okay at the 20 minute mark. My husband and I looked at each other, like we dont have any food. When we finally got the food, it seemed like the cook bought the food with his own money, like the amount was very little for the amount paid. I asked the waitress if cheese was extra, she said yes. Then I asked the waitress if the meal came with a little bit of fries, and she said it would be extra if we wanted more fries. My husband said his meal was good but nothing great, especially for the price. My mash potatoes were good but no where near as good at Ive had and my bean hamburger was super dry. I had to add 3 different sauces to give it moisture. The waitress asked if we wanted water when we were done eating. My husband was never given a refill for the soda, maybe it was extra for that too. The place is definitely underwhelming for the hype of the visual look of it.

The only good thing about this place was the "rainforest" decor From start to finish it was all bad. Waiting to be seated i was approached by a host who made it seem like a huge inconvenience that i brought my infant in a stroller (who doesnt bring a stroller to a mall?) After being seated all you see is employees running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We felt so rushed through our ordering, after the food came our server literally ran by our table twice, stopped once to ask how it was and before i could speak she was gone, i had already been sitting with an empty cup for most of my meal. I just walked the whole mall i was thirsty so the next time she ran by i had to yell to get her to stop. Finally got our check and she was nowhere to be found! My family left while i wait and wait, i finally got up and walked around till i found her. I didnt even get my receipt cuz i was sick of waiting. The price wasnt as expensive as some have said. For a family of 4 it was only a little more than we pay at Applebees. But we got 3 souvenir cups at $8 each on top of our meal makes it seem more. Will not be going back or recommending anyone go here

So I have been to this Mesa location several times for the past 2 years or so. Since I have been going, they have never had any fish in their fish tanks. Its just empty tanks with bubbles. You would think that in all this time they would get new fish. I think they cant afford it. The food was always decent, the service was decent, and the prices were decent. I have never been fond of their alcoholic drinks. I dont think they taste that great. I went there again yesterday. The last time was probably 2 or 3 months ago. They totally changed their menu. I was so upset and disappointed. Their new menu sucks! They now have less items, nothing really from their previous menu (everything I liked is gone), and on top of that it is now pricier. They even raised their prices on the kids menu. Honestly you guys lost a customer. For the current selection, and prices.... I would rather go to a nicer restaurant and have a better experience. I think your new menu will put you guys out of business. When a restaurant changes their menu it is usually an improvement. This time its the opposite.

We have eaten at several Raiforest Cafes across the country. Each one has its own flare. Ill try to break down the points I gave each section. The food is a little expensive, but it is mall pricing. I think it could use a little more seasoning. It also tends to run on the dry side. The portions are large though and big enough to share. Kids Meals include drinks so all in all, the kids meals are cheaper than most sit downs. Still the food needs some improving 2. The decor is fun! The animals come to life, there is thunder and lightning, and it is exciting for the kids. The only down fall is that it is pretty loud. Still very fun decor! 3 out of 3. The service was excellent at Arizona Mills. Ive been to a few and it is hit and miss. Our server was exceptional though! He made us all laugh, included us in the service, and even brought us an umbrella. We were all suppose to crowd under it (its a drink umbrella) to stay dry and wed also have shade to the car when our meal was done. His name was Matt and he is the by far the best feature at the location. Service a 10 out of 3!
