What a disappointment, after the high ratings of others. We were especially disappointed by the rooms which were devoid of some the usual amenities in hotels ,no less those in this price range. There was no bottled or water in pitcher bit --if you want to buy some, it was $8. We were not told where the ice machines or soda machines even existed outside the room; when we found the latter, it was non-functional. The room drawers had non of the usual wine (and bottle) opener. The shelf in the shower was too small to accept soap and shampoo, certainly not for two people. As for a view, it was OK--but our particular view onto the part of the resort was not as nice as others seem to feel (and no view of mountain and no balcony). Lastly, perhaps due to weather and the end of holiday season, I felt that we were overloaded with "Happy New Year" .but rather limited sense of true warmth by the greeting staff (3 of whom were chatting rather than helping) However, to give credit where due, the people at front desk and in business center were very helpful and genuinely warm. And the food at the restaurant was excellent. Any one of these negative comments by themselves would be picky, I realize, but combine all these together, it ended up to be a disappointing stay. I definitely would not return.

We stayed here to celebrate our 20th anniversary and couldnt be happier. The staff was very friendly. We mentioned it was our anniversary while checking in... They all congratulated us and gave us a free daypass for the Spa/Fitness area. The next afternoon we returned to our room to find a wonderful cake/card wishing us a happy anniversary. The grounds are beautiful, with views of Camelback Mountain on one side, and Sleeping Mummy Mountain on the other. The pools were great with a wonderful wait staff if you want to order drinks/food. We stayed in a Casita with a small patio which I would recommend. It was nice to sit out there and have coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Even though we didnt have our kids with us, there were plenty of families around as well. This is a great place for all ages to stay and enjoy!

I REALLY love the 30s vibe here, its feels like an old property that was for the "beautiful people" at one time. Really the renovation was green and redone in much the same way it was 70 years ago,(in a good way) I love the way everything is set in and back, feels cozy and private. My third trip back this year and I could go to many places, I choose the Camelback for three main reasons, the property, the spa, the food. I really appreciate this place. P.S. I can only imagine the guy who talked about his not being able to find his place and wondering around and the people who came to clean etc. This guy was toasted before he even got to his room sounds like to me and really they have safes in every room so go figure the comment about the staff and leaving money in his room. People like this need to stay at the Motel 8, or Lucky Inn.

Trying to locate the room was like a rat maze! Took my lady 30min on this massive piece of land. And once she found it there were ants in the sink. Also when we left to a banquet @ 6pm & came back @ 11pm our room key didnt work. WTF! K now Im ticked off. Went back to the car drove to the front desk witch ill remind u its not close on this chunk of land! Got new keys. Went into the room and notice that our room had the cleaning crew go threw here. WOW! Bed made, new towels, curtains closed, TV off, and not to mention i was freaking out wondering if the $500 i had was taken and whatever else might be missing! K this isnt cool. Had to throw it out there. Will c what tomorrow brings us!

This was my first visit to Arizona and so glad I stayed here. Walking into my room it is rustic and beautiful. You have your own private patio which was perfect for your morning coffee and evening glass of wine. The staff goes above to make sure your every want and needs were met. They were so friendly from management, telephone operators to housekeeping and even the grounds keepers. You will say hello and thank through out your stay. The pool and property are absolutely GORGEOUS! My intent for this trip was to relax, take a break from the cold and clear my head and I did exactly that. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the CAMELBACK INN! Traveled to JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn for a conference. Stayed two nights. Rooms were spacious and clean. The shower in the bathroom holds wonderful temperature and water pressure. Staff is friendly and very professional. I had a leak in my first room (flash flood in January) which I didnt notice but they did. Moved me quickly when I returned from meeting. Second room just as wonderful and relaxing. Grounds are absolutely gorgeous with beautiful flower beds, native trees and cactus. The Camelback Mountain in the background is breathtaking, just perfect place to relax. Would love to stay here again either leisure or conference.

*******************BEWARE****************** The resorts restaurant BLT served contaminated seafood the night of 6-30-15. At least 30 people became violently ill with food poisoning, and one person is known to have gone to the hospital. The BLT restaurant, The Camelback Resort, and the Marriott claims corporate office is aware of this massive out-break. However, they refuse compensate the victims after flights and work days were missed, not to mention the extreme pain and suffering Save yourself an overpriced stay at this resort which would likely end in horrible, violent sickness from the contaminated BLT restaurant.

Beautiful grounds, nice rooms. Be aware of extra charges! I really enjoyed this place and especially the firepit and outdoor lounge area. But, it is always frustrating to find out that the price isnt the price. First, they do disclose that they have a resort fee but they dont tell you how much on their website. You have to call and it is $25. Then, they charge extra for internet - $12.95. What is the resort fee for? Towels I guess. So, just be aware that you have to add $37.95 to the list price - $25 of that is mandatory and $12.95 if you want to use the internet - and who doesnt?

The resort is very nice, pools have been renovated in the past year, and there is a nice separate adults only pool and they serve some great drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) even while youre in the pool. The grounds are very nice to walk through, although it gets very warm and sunny on the summer (to VB be expected in Arizona though). Theyre very willing to provide water in multiple areas so you can stay hydrated, and can drive you around in their golf carts if its too warm for you. Overall a very nice resort to enjoy warm weather and some pool time with family or friends.

Beautiful hotel. Staff was useless. I needed to find a ballroom for a meeting and was told to go out the door to the left down the walkway and it was first on the right. Nope after walking around for another 10 minutes, and seeing absolutely no one. I called a few people I knew who were attending and found out from where I was originally - it was straight out the door, straight ahead, furthest building(3rd), needed to go around the grass/garden circle. They need to learn to give better directions or better yet, get up and walk with you.
