Visiting Phoenix for the week for business and was craving some food from the motherland. Checked out reviews online and all signs pointed to Khyber being the go to place. We went there and the food and ambience was better than expected! Chatted with the super nice ladies (who I am assuming were the owners) and they were extremely nice and very welcoming ( not just because they realized I was afghan too lol) but before they even knew they were very nice. The food, prices and service was beyond exceptional. Theres a reason why they are rated so high! We will definitely be back Ps I hope the weird dude didnt harass you guys much more lol Thanks again

Pretty good restaurant, very friendly and patient staff, large portions, their bread is really good, prices are ok, they have plenty of tables. Ordered 2 samosas (veggie/chicken), loved the veggie one and the cream or green sauce that came with them; also had Chicken Tikka Masala spicy, it had a great flavor and the bread was a lot better than I expected. My Chicken Tikka Masala came out VERY! Hot and I loved that, besides how spicy it was. Had to ask for a small box to take leftovers since it was a lot of food. Cant wait to go back and try something else and experience the real Afghan dishes.

There are 2 types of restaurants; those with customer service, and those without. Khyber showed no Afghan hospitality during our visit. Take out only is from 8-830pm, food was ordered just before 8pm They let us eat outside at 8pm in the parking lot, looking at us eating like we were cretins. Meanwhile, there were still people dining inside. We even walked back Inside to use the sumac off the table, and walked back to return the sumac to the table...still staring, not offering us to come finish our food inside. Food had no strength too!

They are not professional at all! We arrived to the restaurant (all the way from Flagstaff) at 8:15pm because we read in Google they close at 9pm. However, they did not welcome us to dine in, instead they told us that we will be closed in 15 minutes so we cant serve you! You can only order to go! And they blame Google for wrong hours!! Seriously? We told them that we came all the way from Flagstaff, and they said nothing about it! Even if you close at 8:30pm, you should serve your customers until at least 8:29pm!!

I normally do not write reviews. But this one asked for it. I never thought Biryani and Chicken Karai can go wrong. Chicken was white instead of being golden, bland flavour and the taste was no where close to chicken karai. Biryani was basically yellow rice with chicken pieces mixed in it, absolutely bland, not even close to biryani. I ended up paying more for bland food which no one ate.

Best Afghan food ever! Excellent customer service. Very clean. Very reasonable price. My favorite dishes are - Nehari ( if you love spicy food ), Samosas are awesome ( Crispy, fresh and flavorful ), Naans and Kabob are perfectly done. My eight years old daughter favorite is rice and chicken Kabob which is unbelievably flavorful. Pretty much every dish comes with salad which is healthy.

Samosas are perfect, the Afghani rice is tasty, and all the curries, especially the nihari, are superb. Note: the large plates are /really/ large. The naan here is kind of yeasty and has a malty flavor, which Ive never had anywhere else but I actually really like it. They really appreciate cash tips so bring a couple bucks on you to leave them!

This place is fantastic. Chicken Boti is always a hit, and I really enjoy the pulaus and the Mantoo is a great way to start off. If you call ahead you can get the Bolanee which is one of my favorite items. Parking is a bit sparse and the decor is simple but the food is excellent.

Delicious food every time I go here. My favorite is lamb kabob served with this lovely basmati rice mixed with slivered carrot and raisins. Add some hot tea and garlic naan, and youre all set. A lot of the menu originates from around Kashmir where a lot of food cultures mingle.

I had Chicken Biryani and it was not spicy..so I ordered spicy Biryani for my friend who was going to join me shortly..but in spicy Biryani, it was tasting like the spices are sprinkled on top so it is giving hint of spice in mouth..but was not like authentic Biryani

We love this place. Amazing food, spicy amazing. Chicken Handi is one of my favorites with brown rice. I crave each week! Try it out. The people are friendly! I always compliment mother (cook) who works hard to make every dish complete and consistent. Hidden gem!!!

I do not recommend their "Take Away" food. I was so disappointed driving all they way to grab some food but it was not fresh. The food was reheated and also very expensive compared to what you get. NOT HEALTHY at all.

My Gyro had only 2 pieces of meat and th bread was tough. It looked nothing like the picture in the window. Service was mediocre. The place was packed so the other stuff must be great but I wont be back.

The menu options are great and the food is very flavorful. They have they best hummus by far. They do make the naan fresh, so its piping hot when its brought out to you. Love this place!

My favorite Afghan place in Arizona. Nice service and great food! I dont understand why some people rate this as pricey, but its NOT! The Afghan rice and the lamb shank are amazing!!

If your up for something different than burgers, try out this Afghan food. There is plenty of interesting options on the lunch menu and the service is typically great.

The food here is really tasty and the portion sizes are enormous for the price. All told this place is a good deal for some great food. Id recommend it.

Its a great idea experience to taste afghani food here. Chicken boti chicken harai are good to have. Value for money spent.
