I went to Anvil on a Sunday afternoon to meet some friends (first time there). I wasnt sure what to expect because its a mens bar and I went in there wearing khaki shorts, white loafers -- basically everything not leather. Lol. Gotta admit, felt a bit awkward. Well... Everyone in there was very friendly, the bartender absolutely hilarious, made good strong drinks, good music selection, and he is officially my favorite bartender in Phoenix.

Anvil is a chill place and a very laid back attitude. It is the Levi and leather gay bar in Phoenix but dont let deter you. The bartenders are friendly, drinks are inexpensive, and there is something different each night of the week. Monday nights, underwear nights, are very popular. Keep an open mind when you come in, no judgement.

Saturday bartenders are consistently annoying. They never acknowldege me when i am standing at the bar order area. i wait for them to do busy work or talk to other patrons.. Monday bartender is nice and attentive. Otherwise this is a fun and popular place.

Pleasant waiters. Comfortable setting. Music was perfect. Need more diversity in on screen meat though. Turkey and chicken breast gets boring after a while. Try pheasant, beef, thighs, lamb...would probably draw line at fish.
