I dont normally review anything but this restaurant experience warrants this review. My moms bday is today. They winter out here & she enjoys this place usually. We decide to meet @4pm for dinner. Knowing the show next door lets out at 5 & would become busy. 3 of us arrive 5 min before so we decide to go in get a table & order some cocktails. Were told they cant seat us, the other 2 havent arrived yet so we have to wait. There is 3 other tables with people. 48 tables are free. Now there is a 2 top, a 4 top table and booths, 6 top and a 8 top. Where we gonna sit, basic math says the 6 top so wither you sit us now or the next 5 min Im still gonna be at the same table. So we wait, they lose out on us ordering cocktails. My dad walks in and says why you waiting here for us you could have sat down. I said no they wont seat us till you arrived which makes no sense, when what I discovered to be the owner woman comes up to the host desk & with a venom spewed its the policy & I cant have you holding 20 seats & they dont show for an hour!! My dad who has no idea whats going on cant believe how an owner would so rudely spat that to any customer but gives it back to her & rudely says Thank you for that explanation! She then starts to rip the menu out of our hands & says maybe we would be happy someplace out. Now its my moms 70 th bday. Shes getting upset cause within 2 min of walking in her family is getting yelled at &she has no idea why. Again they been there many times never had this policy happen to them when waiting for guests. We sit at the 6 top. Basic math people. As the waitress approaches she says come back next month that wont happen. Her own staff doesnt follow the policy. Now had it been 5 to 8 basic rush hour dinner time and the restaurant being over 50% full I can see this policy. But theres 48 tables free & only one couple came in ahead of my parents. We then realize the owner woman who looks like she should be washing dishes cause shes dressed in a tank top and jeans. Not dressy if you can dress up a tank top but certainly not the appearance an owner should be giving. Have some pride in your appearance and your place. She has not once cracked a smile to anyone coming in but is kinda rudely talking to people as she meets them. Coming from a family that worked in business offices and got degrees in business I can say customer service training is sorely lacking in this owner. Anyway when we sat I ordered a to go pizza to take home to my spouse who was gonna work an overnight. Waitress says I will put it in when you get your food so its ready when.your done. Bill comes no pizza. Shes assures us it will take about 5 min. Really? Now were timing it cause no way is this gonna happen. 28 min later we get our pizza. Now thanks to this owners rudeness and lack of common sense she lost out on us ordering drinks, we sat at a table 28 min longer(now theres a line waiting for our table). Course the waitress forgetting our pizza cost her the 20% My dad would have given. Instead she got 15. What she did get though was my parents going back to there 55 + community where I have to say they are very popular and telling people what this woman just did. Again he got blasted by someone who should have had customer service knowledge & common sense. She lost our business, my parents and Im sure some of their friends. Not gonna shut them down but any business should be careful of there reputation& not want to lose any customer @ this point. Now food wise it was ok. I had the spaghetti. Wasnt gonna pay the ridiculous $ to put cheese on top when it should come with it to begin with but it was ok. There was an order of Italian sandwich. Which basically looked like a french bread pizza and tasted like bagel bites. There words not mine. Another had wings that tasted like boxed wings that they microwaved. Guess I would avoid ordering those items. Course a place in a bad strip mall, your not getting quality to die for food. Too bad the owner takes her place down herself.

I have been to this establishment a few times on slower nights and have had a decent experience. I went there tonight(Friday in snowbird season) and I will never go back. I went with my parents and my 2 yr old son. I arrived first with my son and waited almost 10 min to have a host or any employee to even acknowledge my presence. A simple ill be with u in a minute wouldve been just fine. But nobody even made eye contact. Once we finally sat down service was horrible. Theres too many things to mention that went wrong. Needless to say the server did not get tipped, and I tip a decent server 20 to 25%, Im not a cheap person. I worked in a restaurant for 5 years and know when the problem is with the server or the kitchen. We were getting into our cars when the manager chased us down with the check presenter and said in the rudest tone was there a problem tonight? Ok first of all you do not approach a customer like that. She didnt even introduce herself. Needless to say I was a little less than polite because I have never seen a restaurant manager act in such a way. Her excuse was well u could see we were slammed. Thats not an excuse. You shouldve staffed accordingly. Theres millions of people out there that need a job and wouldve done it better than anybody in that establishment tonight. I will never return after being treated that way. Absolutely absurd. A tip is deserved but not guaranteed. You never ask a customer why they didnt tip.

This place has been in business since 1989, and the decor is nostalgic for those missing the bygone era of the early nineties. No shortage of oak veneer and brass. Ah, the good old days! We both ordered the lasagna. Our server recommended adding the mozzarella cheese to the garlic bread. The lasagna has sliced meatballs and mushrooms between layers of pasta and cheese, and was served piping hot after a wait that seemed long but was quickly forgotten after one bite of the delicious gooey layers. The marinara sauce was fine, not sweet but not acidic either. Nicely balanced and definitely not pizza sauce, so no cheating here. The garlicky mozzarella bread was a treat, although I was initially disappointed that it was not made with sourdough bread. That was nearly made up for because its made with that nice soft French bread like you get from Albertsons, and I mean that as a compliment. Nothing French about it but its lovely and was certainly nicely cheesed and garlicked. One soda was ordered, no refill was offered but thats not the end of the world. The server was sweet and otherwise attentive. Be aware, they close rather early during the week, started cleaning up at 7:30. Pizza is discounted on Monday nights.

We have been going here for years as our children have allergies and gluten intolerance. The last few times we have gone we had to bring our own rice noodles so my ten year old son could eat with the family. They only had corn and he can only eat rice. I looked at the bill and they charged us 8.15 to boil the water and serve them and added another 1.00 because they were gluten free! Full price for an item we provided does not seem right to me. I called to verify that there had not been some error in the bill and she said yes full price for all the work they had to do. We go here anytime we have a family birthday or event because it was one of the only "out to eat places we could take the kids and all eat together". My family and relatives will not be back, and it is a shame that they feel justified in ripping people off just because they have a special need. I can only hope they feel it is worth the loss of our patronage to adhere to their policy of full price for a meal that is nothing more than boiling water and washing a plate.
