Mediocre food served slowly by uninterested staff. We have been to Maxwells before and liked it, so through we would go there for lunch today; what a disappointment. We arrived shortly before noon with many tables open and were led to a massive booth. Ordering went fine, but it was over 1/2 an hour before our salads came (we were starting to joke that they were growing the lettuce), followed closely by the lunch specials we ordered. First the salads - when we ordered small ceasars, we asked for red wine vinegar also and the server said, sure. when the salads came, there was no vinegar. When we asked the waitress again, she had no reccolection that we had previously asked, said she would get it, disappeared and then came back past us with out to the computer to enter other orders. We are still not eating our salads at this point and her back is to us. When she turns around, she then stops a busboy and asks him to get the vingear. He bring us balsmic vinegar. By then the entrees had arrived. She could have just said they dont have red wine vinegar when we ordered. We have tortellini, a philly cheese steak (their featured sandwich) and a chicken parmesan sandwich. The tortellini was fine, but very rich, The Philly Cheese steak was mediocre at best - way overcooked, limp meat with hardly any cheese sauce. The chicken parm sandwich is a slab of breaded chicken with one slice of mozerella on it on two slices of bread with the marrianra on the side, but not spoon to scoop it onto the sandwich. The chicken was dry (the marinarra is excellent). At this point, about 40 min after we ordered, we were so hungry that we ate the food as we couldnt deal with starting over somewhere else. Then the topping on the cake - server never came by to give us our check. We finally went to the hostess stand to ask for it. No one (hostesses, server, manger) asked how our lunch was, so along with my payment, I wrote a note that I fully expect will not be read, since I was standing at the hostess stand writing the note on their sticky notes and no one even cared to ask what I was doing. With so many choices in NewPark, we wont be going back to Maxwells.

Shaina was our waitress. It was about 10 minutes of bein there before we got water brought to us. Then before ordering food, she brought soda to us. (Which she never asked if we wanted anything to drink in the first place.) After telling her we didnt order soda she came back to get our order, still not asking about appetizers or drinks. The side salads were brought out with no silverware. Having to ask for silverware?? When the food was brought out to us, everyone got their food and I had to ask about my chicken parmigiana 3 times, everyone was done eating so I asked them to take it off my check. She said she needed to talk to her manager. When she came back she said it was almost done, and If I wanted it in a to go box. By this time, I was just over the awful service so I said no. I felt ignored by all the waitresses but we had a bus boy waiting on us as well named, Constantine. He was very intentive and brought us everything we asked for. The check was brought to us and we asked for it to be separated. When we checked the separate checks we got charged for my sisters side salad. And over charged for the single slice pizzas. Then when she brought our cards back she made a comment saying that shes sorry if she made us have to go McDonalds. Making the atmosphere very uncomfortable and awkward. Very upsetting that she never made any attempt to make these small mistakes better. Besides the terrible service, the pizza was amazing and delicious. I will not return to this establishment nor will I refer anyone.

We had a large group and the waitress from the beginning had a horrible attitude with us. They didnt have enough seating there for the whole group, even though we called ahead with a reservation and they said our number of guests would not be a problem. We did not sit by each other. After they broke us up into different tables they told us with this group she can only separate the ticket five ways. The waitress was just wanting to make sure she could charge gratuity because she didnt want to work. She complained that we were making her job too hard, but we finally got her to take our order. After that, we did not see her again the whole night until our bill was brought to us - Drinks were empty the whole night. We then didnt see her again till the bill was brought to us. She was by far the worst waitress Ive ever had ever. As a local, I am incredibly dissatisfied with the service and the restaurant as a whole and will not return. I will be sure to tell friends and family to go up the road to Del Taco instead; their service and customer appreciation will be far better than Maxwells.

Great location and the atmosphere was great that is about where the two stars end. After hanging by the bar for a bit (slow service) We decided to order a "fat kid pizza" and salad to go. They said they would call or come get us at the bar. A good 45 minutes went by and we decided to ask the hostess where our order was. She first brought out the wrong order and made a claim that was the only to go order they had. After looking a little harder they found our order and went to the back to get our pizza. It was cold. So how long had it been back there? The pizza itself was mediocre. We ordered a Hawaiian and the pizza had maybe a dozen pineapple pieces total. They didnt include any utensils for the salad...we had to go back inside and ask for them. For overpriced mediocre food with terrible service...go somewhere else.

Went Friday night at about 5:30. Beat the crowd cause it was packed, line out the door when we left. But we got right in with the party of 5. Nice booths, great for conversation. Ambiance is your usual sports bar. Lots of TVs and pretty noisy. Server wasnt super attentive, and, truth be told, somehow the dish for one of our party was missed. They took care of the bill for it but turns out that was the one worth waiting for as it was a Philly cheesesteak and was awesome. Cheese pizza for kids was mass consumed. Guess it was good. Chicken parm was disappointing. Pretty bland, unfortunately. I had high hopes. 2 pieces of breaded chicken with marinara Fettuccini. Maybe worth goong back for the cheese steak but only if convenient.

Each Thursday, during the summer months, there is a free concert directly across the Plaza. So, we went to the concert and decided to eat at Mawells outdoor area. Big mistake. Service was horrible. Our waiter was non-existant and seemed confused! The folks that deliver your food were wandering the tables looking for whoever ordered the pizza they had. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan, which was absolutely tasteless! They boast that Guy Fieris Diners, Drive-ins & Dives visited here (what was he thinking?) Maybe the Salt Lake operation is better? The only reason I gave it two stars: I left my credit-card with the bill and they secured it for me. At least you know they have an honest staff.
