I would say that Mangos is THE place to eat in Downtown Mesa. There are quite a few other good restaurants on Main St., but if you could only eat at one in Downtown, it would be Mangos. Mangos is the perfect spot for fresh, authentic Mexican food, and I have yet to have something I havent liked. I would HIGHLY recommend the Grilled Shrimp Burrito or the Al Pastor Tacos. Ive always had great service, and the owner/employees are very friendly and attentive. The only minor issue is the price. It wont break the bank, but its not a $4 burrito from Filibertos either. However, I think the quality of the ingredients is worth the extra price. For about $8-$10 you get a great meal with free chips and salsa as well. The decor is somewhat outdated if youre looking for that chic Chipotle type of look, but it is still clean, festive and perfect for what Mangos is: a family-owned Mexican food restaurant that delivers consistently delicious food, made evident by the line of regulars that reaches the door during the lunch rush. Basically, you should eat here.

This was our first time coming here and everything was phenomenal! We had the nachos machos with beef and it was super tender, chips were crispy not soggy. My husband had the al pastor burrito and it was delicious, I had the carne asada street tacos. Everything we tried had a different sauce/ flavor to it and we practically licked our fingers . The service was outstanding, this place is very authentic and is definetly our new favorite, we will most definetly be back!

I used to go to mangos weekly AND buy the salsa in quarts to take home. The cafe is pricey... But thats not why I stopped going there. After repeated bad visits Ive stopped my weekly dining there. The staff is mostly all friendly, except for the main guy behind the register. SO RUDE!!! Hes always been so rude and I refuse to support a business when they display such outrageous behavior towards their guests!

Mangos is one of those hidden jewels in the valley of the sun. Its located in Downtown Mesa, its small, but it packs some amazing punches in the food area. They do the whole Baja Seafood cuisine perfectly. You wont find better fish tacos and shrimp quesadillas anywhere else. I travel to downtown Mesa just to have a nice dinner here.

Been eating here for YEARS!!! The food is great. Always consistent. The service is hands down terrific. Whether I come in by myself for a quick bite or with my family, we are always greeted like we are family. I hear the same all around when Im eating and visiting. When the weather permits, the patio is fantastic too!!!

My sister originally turned me on to this restaurant. The food is beyond amazing here! The salsa and guacamole are very good. I absolutely love their chili rellenos and enchiladas. The owner and staff are very friendly and want nothing more than your satisfaction. I highly recommend Mangos Mexican Cafe. I will be back!

Ay dios mio! My partner is Hispanic and he swears by the authenticity of this place. Says the food reminds him of his mothers and grandmothers cooking back home. Its a great little café. Highly recommend it! The ONLY downside is that their housemade lemonade isnt bottomless, but its not worth taking a star away.

I work at Linton Milano Music right next door and come here for lunch all the time. The food is delicious, and the owner is super nice and friendly, and its super convenient for a quick, delicious lunch. I personally reccomend the carne asada burrito with cheese. Best lunch in Downtown Mesa!

When youre tired of the chain "mexican" places go try this place its really good! Personally the burritos are better then chipotle, the meat isnt all gristly, and the chips and salsa are amazing. The staff are all really friendly too. Not a bad place to eat on the patio in the winter

Not only is the food top notch at Mangos, but the staff is wonderfully attentive and welcoming. Mangos is certainly the most treasured restaurant on the downtown Mesa strip. I usually can base judgment of a Mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa and Mangos has the best in town!

Super consistant, good quality, fast prep and flavorful. Not the least expensive place BUT worth the price for the quality. Salsa can be to hot sometimes. Chili Verde is A+ but can also be a degree or two to hot. Great tortillas, great chips. Can be quite busy sometimes.

The food was fresh and delicious. Authentic Mexican food. They have really good choices of fruit drinks. While it is a sit down restaurant you order at the counter and they bring you chips and salsa then your food. Highly recommend.

their food is going from bad to worse place should be health inspected without warning also has their employees go to other places to give bad reviews and give good reviews to their place of employment if they want to keep their job

I eat here at least once a week. The food is great, its priced well, and they give you chips and salsa even if you get your food to go. The staff is friendly and always working hard. My order has never been messed up.

We LOVE Mangos! It is our favorite restaurant. Their salsa is spicy and flavorful but not too hot. There carne asada is melt in your mouth delicious. I rarely have fat or gristle in my meat and I hate both.

Excellent service and excellent food! I particularly enjoyed the fish burrito. Depending on the time of year, its perfect eating outside in front, and then taking a stroll down main street afterwards.

This casual Mexican restaurant is the best downtown. A very friendly staff will take care of you, sit inside or outside. Try their pork al pastor, its the only place you can get it and its amazing.

One of my favorite places. We go there often. The breakfast sandwiches are the best served on a fresh made croissant. Try the fruit cup sandwich combo..the coffee is free with that order.

If you go on a night when theres something happening in downtown Mesa, be ready for a wait and the possibility of them running out of food. BUT...its WORTH it! :O)

Nice casual Mexican restaurant in downtown Mesa. Really liked the salsa. Had #1 combo. Taco was ok...but enchilada rice and beans were really good!

Shrimp in the enchiladas was delicious. Going through the kitchen for the bathroom is interesting as you get to see the cooking in action.
