The food is not good at all, may want to spend your $25.00 at ihop. Went this Saturday early morning to get breakfast before work with my boyfriend. I really wanted some fluffy warm pancakes!!!! I wanted a good breakfast and didnt want the usually Ihop. (No offense to Ihop) We usually dont go out to eat but when we do we want it to be able to enjoy the food aWhen we got there I was a bit confused if we need to sit down and order or if we needed to go to the counter. We decided to walk to the counter. They have the menus in the counter they have one kind of plain pancakes. We ordered 2 set of pancakes with bacon and a side of fruit. When the food came out the pancakes with super thin and chewy. I took a few more bites and couldnt take it anymore. It was not the fluffy pancakes I expected. I went up to the counter and informed them the pancakes were chewy and not good. I learned they dont make there food there. I was eating warmed up food. I didnt want to be a pest so I exchanged it for the French toast. And again it was chewy. Food service is not their strength!!!

We went here on May 28, 2016 at 8:15am. Whenever we can, we prefer to support small local businesses instead of the big corporate coffee corporations were all familiar with. We were especially excited to learn that HG roasts its own beans, because were both coffee connoisseurs. Nice cafe, friendly staff, but absolutely terrible coffee. I couldnt even finish mine. I ordered the 12oz "House" and my girlfriend got a 16oz decaf (I dont remember what roast hers was). Both were EXTREMELY bitter. Not "strong" or "robust" or "full bodied" but BITTER. Im not sure if they somehow burned the coffee during brewing, or if the beans were over-roasted or burned. Im guessing the latter. Im no expert in coffee roasting, but Ive drank everything from "green" to the darkest roasts. We love coffee. So, we know enough to know that coffee is NOT supposed to taste like this. Something went wrong somewhere. Extremely disappointing. Our first and last visit, Im afraid. We had really high hopes, so I guess our search for the perfect coffee place continues...

I really wanted to like this place. It has a cool vibe and the newish, nice employee behind the counter was helpful. I tried the french toast upon recommendation with the seasoned potatoes. The potatoes were delicious, but the french toast mostly tasted like burnt bread. I also had a chai latte that I didnt enjoy as much as most other places, but thats probably personal preference as I like them a little sweeter. The real disappointment was that they seemed to not care that I didnt touch my second piece of french toast. Even when I was the only person there for the first 15 minutes, no one asked how it was - which isnt a big deal. But when I hand my plate in to the manager because I didnt know what to do with it, she told me to leave it at the counter and didnt say anything else. If I was running a small business, I cant imagine not asking if everything was good and especially so when its obvious a 190lb guy didnt come close to finishing a reasonably portioned plate of food.

Lunch with a dear friend is always wonderful, but lunch with a dear friend at Higher Grounds Roastery and Café is downright incredible! My friend and I enjoyed the Thursday salad special, a caprese salad with chicken. Im still thinking about that salad, and Im not one to dwell on salad greens. The iced chai latte was refreshing and flavorful. The only thing I can think of to suggest for improvement is to invest in sturdier tables. Our table was a little on the rickety side, however the friendly service and the high quality of the food and drinks more than made up for it. I will definitely go back! I want to try the prickly pear salad next time!

What a great Coffee Cafe! I love their Iced Coffee. They have baked goods, breakfast and more coffee! The environment is very comfortable, not too busy and plenty of places to sit. A perfect place to hang out. The music is fairly louder than most coffee lounges, so I would recommend it for a place to visit with family and friends. Unless of course you can tune out the music for some studying. Customer service was great and all smiling faces. Everyone seems to be very happy to be working their job. I waited 45 seconds for my drink! Great Place! Very pleased! I recommend it to everyone!

Food, coffee, lemonade, tea, pastries, and more! This place has INCREDIBLY hipster/high end coffee with prices much fairer than Starbucks. Dont like coffee? No problem! They have a variety of tea, lemonade, and other beverages. Every drink is super customizable, and there are so many flavors you can pick from. The staff know everything about coffee & tea, are friendly, and tell good jokes! Lots of great choices with their food, and its all delicious! Clean bathrooms, plenty of seating, fun art and decor, even easy to read menus. Nothing to complain about!

This place has amazing food and even better coffee but when the delivery guy tells us "its annoying that you guys make separate transactions" I find that to be really rude. Look were an office, obviously no one is going to pay for the entire bill, if its a problem we wont go there anymore and Ill tell people to go else where because of the service. If you hate your job that much go back to school and get an education to work someone else. - cy

This coffee house needs our communities support every day! Service is excellent, all the foods Ive tried are yummy and they keep this place spotless. For Christmas, I purchased 10 ten dollar gift certificates for my childrens teachers. I stop in at least twice a week for a cup of coffee or cookies and muffins for my children. Love the fact they showcase local artists paintings on the walls. Look out for their daily special for lunch.

Dianna, Dani and the rest of the HG Roastery crew are fantastic! I am addicted to their Hercules (iced blended goodness) and their Cuban coffee (its rare to find coffee shops serving this). The breakfast burritos and homemade salsa are really good! I often run into Dani and HG Roastery in the community; catering or donating for a good cause. Thats a testament to what kind people are behind HG Roastery!

Definitely a different kind of coffee shop. They roast their own beans, make unique blends (hot and cold), have a quaint sitting area with a large centerpiece style table, light music, and fun staff!! They put a real spin on their shop with delicious food (looks pretty too) and I heard they offer catering. To top it off, they support the community, especially the artist community which we love!!

Food is good. But they where out of everything we wanted, they only have one high chair, family have to sitt and hold there kids while they try and eat at the same time. A little better planning on the owners part could go a very long ways. As a business owner I understand the logistics and I feel a little big more time in the over all plan could make this place amazing.

Always friendly staff. Their coffee has a great roasted flavor. Their food is always spectacular. You can watch them make your food through the kitchen door. Everything Ive eaten was and could only have been made in-house. I live nearby and occasionally walk here on weekends. I do miss the Englishman breakfast sandwich, but the Frenchman is a great substitute.
