I cannot say enough good about the Black Pearl. My wife and I eat here on weekly basis and have never been let down. The cool lettuce wraps are awesome - something we order every time we go. I love the peppered steak here because of the great flavor and tender meat.. some of the softest I have had... My wife doesnt even really like peppered steak, but loves theirs. Normally she sticks with either the sesame chicken or Mongolian Beef - both of which are very tasty... Because of their location, this is almost always my goto when company comes over and we want to stay in - I just call in, 10-15 mins later I am walking out with my food! Just like us, I have never heard a complaint from my company when it comes to the Black Pearl... Cant beat em...

Best Chinese food in Birmingham. The Colonnade location is pristine, extremely clean and provides an upscale environment. The staff is always extremely nice and always goes above and beyond. No matter if I am dining in or call in a to go order my food has always been prepared quickly and fresh at that. The portions are great, as I can usually eat two to three meals off of one meal. This is the only Chinese food I will eat in Birmingham for many reasons. I dont even put in many Google reviews but I did for these guys because they have been consistently great!

My husband and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. We arrived at 2:20 pm and they closed at 2:30. It was not a problem, we were seated and no one acted like they were put out because we were interfering with their break. I had Almond Chicken and my husband had the House Egg Foo Young. I can say it was some of the best food I have ever had. You could tell all the ingredients were fresh and everything was so tasty. The egg rolls were wonderful as well. We will definitely eat at The Black Pearl again.

Overall, the food is pretty good and the service is great! Everything is very fast and fresh (always hot) in my opinion with the exception of the fried rice... everytime it tastes bland, dry and old. I have had a few things off the menu and all have been great when taking out personal preferences on tastes. Our server had a little bit of a hard time understanding us but she made it work. Won-ton soup and egg rolls are great!!

Went to sister restaurant off Lakeshore. The place was very pretty. However, I was very disappointed they added pork jock(feet)into the lamb dish I ordered. And played dumb when we questioned them. Since I had both type of meats before so I knew there was something wrong. Wished they just told me they didnt have enough lamb to make a dish instead of doing that. Would had been ok ordering something else.

Great Chinese food for a great price. This little gem is a great spot to grab lunch. Seating is limited, but the friendly, accommodating staff will seat you as soon as they can. Portions will never let you leave hungry - and thats a fact. In the mood for some Chinese? Black Pearl has what youre looking for

Black Pearl Asian is the best chinese restaurant in Birmingham AL in my opinion. First because the food is great and always tastes so good. Secondly, Michelle the owner is soooo nice to all her customers and does a great job making sure everyone is taken care of. Awesome place

The excellent reviews from others on here surprises me. I had Kung Pao Chicken that was not very good. The chicken had an odd flavor and consistency. The hot and sour soup was sort of like gel and the egg roll tasted stale. This was a waste of my time and money.

I love every thing about this place but I love there sesame chicken and beef and broccoli it is never a waist of my time to come to this restaurant and you can enjoy a free coffee and cookies when your waiting on your meal it is just a great place with great food

Nice place, friendly waitress. Pad Thai LOOKS like Pad Thai. However, it DOES NOT TASTE like Pad Thai. Ive tasted it many times in many different restaurants. This is NOT one of them. Its like another spicy noodle dish lacking the prominent, slightly sweet taste.

This is, by far, the best Chinese food in Birmingham. We always go here. Our favorites are chicken n broccoli, Mongolian shrimp, Singapore noodles and crab rangoon!!!!! My mouth is watering. I love Asian flavors. I think I have some Asian DNA!!!!!

Staff did not speak English, food arrived without eating utensils and had to ask 3 times. Food was typical Chinese take out type. Could taste msg. Egg roll was over cooked. I would not recommend eating here.
