"Do you really need to order Chinese food in Pinson?"...that is the question one should ask him/herself when he or she is considering Chinese food for lunch or dinner. I wonder why so many people give this place good ratings. I went with my mother and one of my ex-coworkers to Panda Chinese Food on the way back from a trip to the pumpkin patch one day. We placed our orders but we got stuck waiting forever. One customer came in after us to get his food and we were still waiting on ours when he left. We finally got our orders and sat down to eat. The food wasnt all that great either. Plus the atmosphere was kind of dull and drab. Maybe this is one of those places that used to be really good in the past but their staff changed? I would not recommend Panda to anyone unless you want sub-par food quality and you have nothing better to do than to wait around a long time. There are much better Chinese places out in the Trussville area.

The chicken fried rice had only rice, chicken, onions & chives. At all other Chinese restaurants they add peas & other veggies. The house lo mein also had a huge abundance of onions & noodles but no other veggies. Very little meat in it (literally 2 VERY SMALL shrimp). The in restaurant menu says the meals come w/soup or eggroll but when asked they tell you no. I remember this restaurant opening & we went at least once a week b/c it was so good. With the Panda on Deerfoot, Im really wondering how this place is staying open. Disappointing! While waiting on take-out food was told "sit down." We r not children & if we want to stand & wait, it shouldnt matter. The good food & friendliness have left the building.

As I walked in to make an order I saw someone preparing what looked to be a to go order(without any gloves) drop a piece of broccoli onto the floor, pick it up off of the floor and put it in the box with the rest of the order. I made sure to make eye contact with him to let him know he was busted and turned and walked out of the restaurant.. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EAT THERE AND I ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY!!!!

The food was simply average Chinese food. Their restaurant location looks more like a high school cafeteria. But the amount of food you get for the price and the fast service for take-out (I called as I left the house and my food was ready when I got there 7 minutes later) makes this place worth visiting. Dont expect fancy, but if you are looking for value for your money, this is your place.

I had the Pepper Steak and white rice with egg roll. Was not pleased at all with the Pepper Steak, was the worst I have ever had in Birmingham. The eggroll was ok but want say delicious. The best thing about my meal was the cookie sad to say. Maybe I should have tried the sweet and sour chicken or sesame chicken. Food looks nothing like picture on website. disappointed

Panda is one of the best Chinese restaurants around. The staff is friendly and considerate. The food is made quickly and always hot. It has a calm vibe to the dining area. The prices are reasonable and the quantity of food is adequate. Best of all the cooking is delicious!

New owners? Had dinner to go. It was gross. I have been eating at the place for years. This is the first time I have ever gotten anything bad. My family could not eat it. We had to throw it away. If it has changed hands the cooks are terrible. Will never eat there again.

Always nice staff, pretty good food at fairly reasonable prices, fast service. Not my favorite, but by no means bad quality in any way. For me, it is more about the convenience, only 5 minutes drive from home. I dont have anything bad to say about them.
