If you have a preconceived notions about Chinese food- throw it out the window! And come to Hunan Springs! This place is amazing. The owner, Mai is so incredibly friendly and sweet that you will feel like hugging her. We order out all the time and MAN do they give you a lot of food. They dont use MSG (nasty preservative thats not good for people) and everything tastes fresh and homemade. We usually get the sesame chicken, Lomein, and Garlic Shrimp. The sesame chicken is SO good. Im craving it now as I write about it! Its not doughy or gooey. Its super crispy and the flavor is amazing. Their fried rice is superb and they dont skimp on how much they give you! We brought out of town family here and we all ordered Sesame chicken (because I kept raving about it). There was so much sesame chicken at our table that even the waiters were giggling. (one of them asked "Do you have enough chicken?" and we all died laughing) We learned that from now on everyone should order something different and share! You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. ... hmm its lunch time right now and I think I know what Im going to be having! The lunch prices are incredibly reasonable and the portions are really no less than at dinner!

Disgusting! The Hot and Sour soup STANK! It was so bad I could not get it anywhere near my mouth. Then the chicken meal was putrid and undercooked. Had I eaten it I am sure I would have gotten Salmonella poisoning. I had to wait 20 minutes before the waitress came back. I told her I would not be eating the meal, and asked permission to leave. She okayed it. I left. Next thing I know I am ARRESTED for Dine and Dash. But I NEVER DINED. Cops said I needed permission to leave. But I HAD PERMISSION to leave. Cops said I absconded with merchandise. I absconded with NOTHING of the restaurants! Not a grain of salt! Not a morsel. I spat out what went in my mouth. Cops said, you order off a menu, you pay. Never mind the facts. 1. I never ordered off the menu. 2. What I ordered - food - and what I got - poison - not ordered. 3. I never ate a scrap. Woman cop tried to tell me its customary in the USA that unhappy customers are forced to pay. Rubbish, Nonsense, Bull! I worked as a waiter in my younger years, and management always trained us to automatically remove from the bill any uneaten food. Save yourself the hassle. Go somewhere else.

This is THE BEST CHINESE FOOD Ive ever had. Ive eaten in places all over the country, & this place is like a hidden gem. The food is 5 star, but the prices really dont reflect the quality...not only do they have the BEST food, they are, by far, the most inexpensive. Not that I want them to raise the cost (lol), but they could double the prices, & I would still order just as loyally & frequently (they know me by name, now lol). Everyone that Ive personally dealt with at this restaurant has been so nice, helpful, pleasant, professional, & delivered super quick. I order A LOT, & not once have I had a complaint; the food is ALWAYS fresh, hot, exactly as I ordered, & delicious. Ive always been really hesitant to try anything new from a Chinese delivery place, but with this one, Ive tried a ton of new things & LOVED it ALL. This place is the whole package - I cant think of a single negative thing to say. Hunan Springs is one of my all-time favorite restaurants, not just in the Springs, but anywhere, PERIOD. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I had a hankering. The service was outstanding! I cannot tell you how wonderful the service was. I was waited on absolutely superbly. I started the meal with hot and sour spicy soup. It had a bit of heat, but nothing major. The iced tea was fresh brewed and refreshing. I had two glasses before I even ordered my meal! The egg roll that came with my meal was hot and crispy! The twice cooked pork, extra spicy, with steamed rice, was a delight. With many flavors and textures it made me happy. The portions were hearty and they did not skimp on the pork. I believe they do a lot of carry out and delivery orders, but the dine in experience was great. I will come again. You should also. Youll be glad you did!

My school orders from Hunan ALL THE TIME. We have a pretty good relationship with them - as a student leader, Ive ordered from them and theyre good with deliveries, pricing, etc. Their Chinese food is not very good. The sesame chicken is always dry. The stir fry noodles are just nasty and drentched in oil, bleh. Ive had dollar scoops that were better than what they serve. Then again - Ive only had their party trays, so maybe individual entrees might be better...? Buuuut I doubt it. Ive had better Chinese at Coal Mine (no, I do not work there nor did they pay me to say that). If youre looking for Chinese - Id say go there instead. Its northwest downtown, off Uintah, you dont have to worry about parking.

Everything in our order but the lo mein was inedible, the sweet and sour chicken was fried to the point beyond consumption and the "fried rice" was white rice with soy sauce dumped on it. Their egg drop soup is filled with soggy tofu and old corn which is the first like it Ive ever seen. The crab rangoons were filled with old cream cheese and hard to chew. Even better was the answer I got when I called to inform the management of my issues and was told that she wouldnt argue with me and would comp me a beef lo mein. Thanks but no thanks not worth the gas. I would stay away, I wondered when I walked in to pick up to go and the place was empty in a downtown location.. Something is obviously wrong here.

Dont believe the reviews that claim this is the worst restaurant on earth or the best. Hunan Springs is right down the middle. The eggrolls are completely unimpressive. Dont get them. The baked curry beef dumplings, however, are amazing. If you do go here (and arent a vegetarian), be sure to order them. I liked the hot and sour soup, but my husband didnt. The General Tsos Chicken was fine. Ive had a lot worse. Nothing special, though. I DO like how if you ask for it extra spicy, it actually comes extra spicy! The service was just fine. Everyone I interacted with was very nice. I probably wont be going back because its located directly downtown, and I live on the north end of town.

We order here a lot because of the online ordering. Weve tried a few different things, some things are great, others not so much. The General Tsos chicken and Moo Shu are probably the best dishes in our opinion. Dont care for the sauce on the lo mein, tasted like cardboard. Sad that the sweet and sour chicken did not come with pineapples or any vegetables, sauce was on the side and the chicken was dry. Id steer clear from those two dishes. Rangoons are yummy, never displeased with those. Delivery drivers are always very nice and food is always delivered quickly, no problem with service. Three stars for food at this point, but will keep ordering and trying new things.
