Today we went to eat around 3 something pm and I ordered a Crispy Chicken salad, which was very good, and my wife ordered a patty melt with Chedder cheese. We gave instruction to have the meat cooked on the grill instead of the char broiler so that the meat wouldnt be burnt, because the char broiler pretty much always burns the hamburger. when we got the meal, my salad was correct and very good, but the Patty melt was a Reuben. No problem, traded it in and got the Patty melt. The hamburger was burnt, obviously cooked on the char broiler, and the bread was also burnt and pretty badly as well. Since we got the Patty melt with out having our instruction followed, meat cooked on the char broiler (desired to have it cooked on the grill), we felt the waitress had not made sure our Patty melt was prepared correctly by the instruction we gave. We want the management to know the qualify of the food on that part of our order was very low. Cozy diner would not want to post a picture of that meal on the web, thats for sure. We asked that the Patty melt be removed from the bill, but that was rejected because we said ok to keeping the meat for our dog. My wife was not able to eat a meal she ordered and that is very disappointing. We left the meat and ended up paying for a meal my wife didnt get to eat. Definitely not fair. The waitress informed me the cook doesnt listen to anyone. In my mind the management needs to be a little more aware of what takes place in the restaurant so things like this dont happen to such a bad degree. I guess I chalk it up poor food quality from Cozy Diner on that occasion.

Went to Cozy Diner earlier today and ordered the Surf and Turf, as its one of my favorite meals there. Ive never had a problem with Cozy before, and I was in the mood for steak, as in beef, and I was in a rush so I got my meal to go. It was only once I got home I realized that it wasnt beef I got, but pork. A pork steak... now Im wondering if Cozy Diner is taking the path Ive noticed many restaurants are taking, where they give pork and say its beef because beef is more expensive and they dont want to spend the money on something expensive when they can order something cheap and pass it off as the expensive stuff. Is that the case, or was this a one time thing?

What you get at the Cozy Diner depends on whom is working there at the time. Some of the staff and cooks should be fired... out of a cannon... into a wall.. on the sun. Some waitresses are so great, and others are just absurdly bad at their job. *ALWAYS* ask for freshly cooked bacon, as they WILL attempt to pawn the unused, cooked bacon from the morning rush on you. Old bacon is nobodys friend! Despite these problems, we still go there every few weeks. When you get the good staff members, it is a nice place. But it is the kind of place where they fry your bread in butter. If you have a grease deficiency in your diet, this place will fix it.

Its really sad to see what this diner has become, over the years the service kept getting worse and worse. Once they bring your food they drop off your check as well, which means that you will have to try hard to get a servers attention for a refill or if there is an issue. Today, not only did my order get messed up, I also found hair on it. When I told a manager, he didnt even try to apologize or offer to get my order recooked. Cozy has become a very pathetic diner. I dont recommend this place to anyone. One star is honestly giving them more credit than they deserve.

Ive gone here for quite some time and and slowly but surely it has gone downhill, now its just awful the standard is out the window. the lettuce was wilted and yellow, They served a rotten Broccoli soup and thought it was funny, my wife asked for grilled fish and it came battered and fried. Then it was a problem she wanted it cooked right.. disgusting attitudes to have in the food industry, I recommend going elsewhere. let this dump close.

This restaurant is convenient because it is open late and they have a wide variety on the menu. However the food quality is so so. The Cozy Dinner in Paradise on the other hand has superior quality food and service. If you are looking for a dinner in Chico like this, try Russells on Cohasset. They are a sister company and have the exact same menu as Cozy Diner but the food quality and service is far better.

We always get friendly service here. Never skips a beat. I had the 1/2 Turkey Sandwich and a bowl of Beef Barley soup. Soup could have had more beef, but still very tasty. Lots of meat in the sandwich, so that made up for the soup. Their Fried Chicken is also very good.

I always enjoy eating here. The food is done right, and the staff are in tune and on time. They have many good eats here so to single out one is rediculous. I do suggest the lumberjack special for breakfast, and the seafood platter for lunch or dinner tho!

Service was okay, but the food (if we can call it that) really was horrible. Every bite was an epic battle to try to keep it down. It easily rates in the top two most disgusting places Ive eaten, well below McDonalds or DQ.

I am not sure if I will go back because of the prices. Biscuit and gravy cost them .40 cents to make then they sell it for 10x the price. Breakfast: 2 Biscuits and Gravy: $4 3 Sausage links: $3 1 Coffee: $2

This review is specifically about the cream pies which are AMAZING. The chocolate cream pie is my favorite. Its creamy and fluffy on top and goopy and thick and pudding-like at the bottom.

Comfort food at a reasonable price. This has been a Chico institution forever...The food is heavy and traditional diner food. If you are "fried food adverse" you will not be happy here

We dont eat out very much, this is one stop we will make if we do. Usually clean and friendly most of the food is okay quality for the cost. Breakfast special is good as of now.

Our local fall back position when unable to decide whats for breakfast around the house. Affordable, tasty, unpretentious and uncomplicated just like a diner should be.

We had a lunch there and it was a great experience! Price is very reasonable. Waitress was nice. Food tasted good and serving amount is big enough for a male adult.

The fried chicken is so superior to KFC . The gravy, however, really sucks. Can no one at Cozy Diner make a simple milk gravy to go with fried chicken??????
