I really like it when restaurants marvel me. I came right here looking ahead to the food to be true however now not high-quality. Boy turned into I incorrect. The cacio e pepe is the satisfactory i have had (dare I say, I loved it greater than Lilias). I hate pizza, however the sausage and kale pizza become perfection and gained me over. The crust had simply the right amount of chunk and salt. The estrella chicken liver pasta turned into delicious. If I had to pick a "weakest" route, i would say it was dessert however the dessert is sincerely well worth ordering right here. We attempted the labne semifreddo, which jogged my memory of an icy, greek yogurt-y cheesecake with a first-rate pistachio crust and cherries on pinnacle. The cookie plate came with 3 cookies-- hobnob biscuit (rings a bell in my memory of a brown butter oatmeal cookie), chocolate chip, and a brown sugar (tasted like a snickerdoodle). it is difficult to reduce to rubble heat cookies and milk-- easy crowd pleaser. portions have been generous for upscale eating. provider was top notch. The eating place is heat and relaxed with rose gold decor. the crowd is dressy informal, on the whole suits at lunch, however without a doubt now not stuffy. its amazing for a date spot or fine dinner out. it is now not too loud, so you can pay attention everyone at your desk.

Upland is your new go to brunch place. And maybe even your new favorite dinner place. It can be a pain to get in for dinner, so book ahead, or skip the wait and go for brunch of weekday lunch for a similar but unique menu. Look past the jars of frozen human heads at the entrance, apparently a cryogenic lab ran out of space. The cuisine is California inspired, which ends up meaning great avocado and fresh greens. The staff is superb, with something like 5 people per table each very a very specific function such as water boy, coffee man, or head napkin folder. The donuts were fantastic, particularly the Nutella one. Its a fresh doughy donut with Nutella in it, need I say more? The bucatini comes highly recommended for good reason. The pasta is perfectly cooked and melted into cheese with a creamy consistency and a not too heavy flavor. The burger may have broken into my top five NYC burgers. The meat was flawlessly seasoned and cooked. Even with the delicious avocado and shredded lettuce, the burger shone through and melded into the melty cheese. Even the fries were excellent with a light rosemary hint and nice and thin and crispy but not crunchy. Its even better than Upman Whats Upman? Not much dude!

I was thrilled to have dinner at this wonderful restaurant last night with my husband and very good friends. Dishes included the Little Gem Salad with scrumptious frog hollow apriots, the duck wings, the cioppino (scrumptious lobster and other seafood in a perfect red sauce, aged rib-eye, seared and juicy, ending with 3 scoops of a flavorful citrus sorbet. I had traveled extensively throughout the US and spent much time in London with my husband, having the opportunity to eat at many 4 and 5 star restaurants here and abroad. However, nowhere have all of the elements been present in the way they were at Upland: excellent meal presentation, savory dishes, knowledgable and friendly staff, and a tasteful, well lit surround. I loved every moment, and morsel. Thank you Executive Chef Justin Smillie and Sous Chef Josh Stumbaugh, and our waiter, Jeremiah!! I recommend to my friends visiting NYC or already living in NYC to reserve a night at this up and coming restaurant.

Taking advantage of a beautiful day In NYC, my family and I decided to head to UPLAND at 345 Park Avenue South for brunch. After being seated we were quickly greeted by a nice polite server offering us sparkling and still water. Three of us had the most exceptional Bloody Mary’s. We started with a wonderful pastry basket then the five of us decided to pick an item each and sample the others dishes. Granola ricotta agave (a must) Eggs in hell tomato, oregano, fresno chili and grilled bread Eggs benedict poached eggs, country ham and lemon hollandaise Farm egg omelette, bulgarian feta, spinach and mixed greens Estrella chicken liver, sherry, rosemary and sage Spaghettini with fried egg All of us were floored by the changing flavors and no one was disappointed everything was excellent even the couple items I would have never ordered on my own. From our service to each dish, this is definitely a restaurant I look forward to returning to.

Larger restaurant with tables around the entire space with the bar and sit up seats in the middle The food was a hit! If you can try a little of everything I highly recommend you do. Come with 4 hungry people and share share share because everything is good! My favourite was the mushroom - make sure you get it. The beef tartar and carrots were good as well. Our group tried the crispy duck wings - they were tasty but way too salty. The oven baked thin pizza full of sausage and kale was made perfectly. The pappardelle with spicy sausage and kale was also a great plate. The bucatini cacio e pepe tasted amazing but the pasta was still hard and very undercooked (I like my pasta al dente and this was just not cooked). Overall Upland had a friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food was good with the potential to be great. Had the duck not been salty and the pasta cooked I would give Upland a higher rating.

I was visiting my companys HQ for a week in SoHo. I love the Bay Areas food scene, but we are seriously lacking in the ramen department. For my week in NYC, I had a few spots to hit up with this being one of them. It was 30 degrees out and I saw that Momofuku Noodle Bar was a mile from work so I figured a total walk of 2 miles in freezing weather would be nothing for the prize of this ramen. I gotta say, I really liked it. The noodles are perfectly al dente and the broth is very tasty. I showed up about 5 minutes before opening and was seated at the counter right away. I slurped up every last drop! I wish a Momofuku restaurant would come to SF, but ever since David Chang insulted the culinary scene here, they are still pissed at him. So, whenever I go to NYC, I get my Momofuku fix. Oh, and I always get some birthday cake truffles for the road.

As I turn the corner of Guerrero I see a line of 20 people standing out in the cold five minutes before this place opens. Rain, sleet or snow couldnt move these people out of that line this Sunday 10/16/16 7:55 am. Local regulars as well as people from all over the world are in this line and they know of this place through all sorts of different social media. I chat it up in the line to pass some time. Yes, this is my favorite bakery in the city too. I can understand all this who - ha. It feels like your in line at some uber-cool club -- only dont mistake it. Those bar/club lines are likely artificially created to create buzz... this line is for real. We are all people who are tired of mediocre baked goods and there just isnt enough for everybody - especially those who are not diligent in waking up early.
