From the outside looking in, Evergreen definitely does not look like a diner. But after you take a look at their menu, their selection is definitely on par. You can pretty much order whatever you want. I went for the philly cheesesteak (which comes with fries). It was alright. If youre in midtown and youre craving a philly, then this will probably do the job. The sammie wasnt as big as I was expecting it to be. Ive had bigger, better-tasting portions for a cheaper price at delis nearby, but I guess youre really just paying for the diner experience. I dont know of many diners in midtown so Evergreen might just be your only choice!

We always like to try a hole in the wall authentic restaurant when we travel. This fit the bill. We were quickly seated for breakfast although it was quite crowded. Very efficient service. Food is tasty, filling, and economical. Good coffee. I had an omelette, but they also have waffles and other breakfast foods. I would go there again. Someone in another review said "no frills". I agree, in a very complimentary way.

Terrible experience. From the outset the waitress was rude. We asked for waffles without sugar and they brought us waffles with sugar. We brought it to their attention, they took it to the back and just flipped it over before taking it back out. When we told her that they just flipped our waffles around, she said so what do you want me to do!. When we asked for new waffles they said machine was already off. Never again

hahahha oh man how does this place have any good ratings. The food arrived very quickly which is about the only plus I can think of. The food was cold, our Tuna Melt was a slice of store-bought white bread with cold tuna and a piece of processed cheese. All for $9! wow! The service was terrible, everyone was rude, the cashier didnt say word to me as I paid, while the waitress knew nothing about their own menu.

in the space of five nights I ate here twice, both times the food, service and atmosphere were brilliant. I had the lumberjack breakfast the first time, a shed load of pancakes bacon eggs and coffee. the second time i went for something smaller I could actually finish. The staff were lovely and pointed out my newbie mistake of writing in the tip box the total amount of the bill eekkk!

Awesome little diner, when i first stayed in the hotel next to it, i was in there every morning, food was really nice and so was the service, quick with serving the food especially as it can get very busy in there of a morning. Ive been back to NY since and even went out of my way with a 15 min walk to go there as it was really nice.

Came here with my husband since it has such good reviews for breakfast idk what is wrong with people and their taste buds I can say its one of the worst breakfasts Ive ever had and overpriced two breakfast sandwiches and two coffees 32 dollars the service wasnt all that great either we will not be coming back

we went to Evergreen diner for breakfast on our first morning in NYC wow it was amazing i had the pancakes and lots of coffee that was the best ive ever had highy recomend loved it staff are fantastic will defo go back we had about 4 meals in there and they where all fantastic want to be there now

Rude service, very salty sausages and pancakes. The guy who was serving us food, he literally tossed every item on the table and not responded once to our thank you. I highly suggest not to go to this place if youre looking for a nice breakfast and a pleasant environment!

One of the best. Breakfast is amazing here. Tastes wonderful, you can come as one and sit on the bar in secs. The staff is amazing and they serve you your food 40 seconds after you ordered. Coming back to this place for sure!!

Service was seriously awful - waited for 15 mins for an apple juice and a coffee, waitress showed up with our food before those! 33$ for a kids pancake, my waffle, a coffee and an apple juice is ridiculous even for NYC.

Every time Im in the city, this is my first stop. The food comes out faster than any place Ive ever been to. The Eggplant Parmesan is amazing. The only downside of this restaurant is living six and a half hours away.

Food was okay but the service was awful. It took over 20 mins for my sister to get a few pancakes.. The rest of us were finished with our meals. Also, my drink was empty and our waitress was eating at the bar.
