Orchid of Hawaii is apparently a popular karaoke spot. A lot of people were in the bar Friday night waiting for the party to start. The dining room is bright and clean, and the waiters pleasant. The vegetables in our Tangerine Beef were fresh. But otherwise the food was disappointing. Everything had too much oil in it.

If you want quintessential American Chinese food like pupu platter and scorpion bowl, you can enjoy this very well prepared here. Decor is vinyl booths and Formica tables with some surprisingly nice touches. Beware: bar is crowded and noisy karaoke nights.

Always loved it here. Made some great friends there over the years. Food is 99% consistently outstanding! Wait service is quick and friendly. The Orchid is a place where everybody knows your name. Excellent local hot spot.
