This is HANDS DOWN the best Italian restaurant in Sacramento. My boyfriend and I have been searching for an Italian place like this for the last 2.5 years since we moved from Los Angeles. Not easy to find in a land where everyone seems to be enamored by chain restaurants, and so proceed to rate them on google and yelp like they are the last places for good food on earth. If you are reading this its probably because you have waded through pages and pages of crap on google already. How unfortunate that GEMS like this get buried under so much BS. This is the first truly AUTHENTIC Italian place weve been able to find in all of Sac. We were seated right away, as it was only moderately busy on Saturday night. They serve unlimited AMAZING bread with olive-oil and balsamic, so youll start eating as soon as you sit. Its owned by an actual Italian family, and you can feel their hospitality as soon as you walk in the door. They are truly HAPPY to have you at their restaurant. The owner/head chef came to our table immediately, and so passionately explained his specials to us that I knew we had found our new Italian go-to place before we even took a bite of dinner. The entire staff was SO attentive and helpful. As soon as any one of the staff members noticed we needed more bread or were ready to order, they came right over to help us. This is a place you can count on not getting ignored just because you arent in a waiters "section". The food was just hands-down INCREDIBLE. Im going add a few more adjectives because it was that awesome- FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL, DIVINE, AMAZING... I could keep going. The food was piping hot when it came out, beautifully plated, and just so soulfully good that I almost wanted to cry. You can taste the difference when the pasta dough is made in-house rather than cooked out of a Barilla box. At the end of our dinner they gave us a free serving of Tiramisu to share. We were already SO happy and satisfied, and then they just raised the bar another notch, which I didnt even think was possible. It was the best Tiramisu Ive ever tasted. It just melted in my mouth, Im still dreaming about it. Do yourself a favor and stop going to Olive Garden and give this place your business-- youll pay the same price, still get unlimited bread, experience FAR superior service, and not have to wait 2 hours for a table. Youll be MUCH happier and youll be supporting an incredible small business. I love this place and Ill be back next weekend. See you there!

My girlfriend and I went to Via Roma on a recommendation and we were not let down. I love Italian food and their Raviolis are one of my top 3 favorite meals anywhere. Its the only item I have ordered because I cannot bring myself to order anything else! My girlfriend has tried the lasagna and loves it (VERY hot though) and is also a big fan of their cream sauce. Usually have a couple specials and reasonable prices ($25 for our dinner). Smaller family run restaurant but always very nice and aim to please. I was very happy to see every table taken last time we had dinner, so you may want to make reservations. Bravo Via Roma!

I love enjoying the outstanding food in their quaint dining room. When you walk in, you are greeted instantly and they treat you very well from start to finish. My water never goes empty, and the service is quick. In a day when customer service is lacking, Via Roma is excelling. I can not say enough great things about the level of service I have received here. Whenever its time for dinner out, my first thought is always Via Roma. Thank you Via Roma for your continuous quality of food and service. You are like no other. I can not wait to enjoy your restaurant for years to come.

Search no longer -- go to via roma and order everything. No need to read any other reviews. What are you waiting for? First time here we got takeout. It was really busy but the service was excellent and huge portions of yummy pasta. So we decided to come back to eat in the restaurant. Great decision! Cozy and friendly atmosphere, great food and wine options, and amazing personal service again. Officially one of my favorite places for date night or family get together. And get the tiramisu. You wont regret it.

My husband and I went to Via Roma at the suggestion of our hairdresser, I guess I owe her a larger tip! The food was fantastic, Henry the owner was so kind and helpful. They were getting ready to close when we arrived. I suggested we leave and Henry insisted we stay. He said, "I am blessed that you are here". He waited on us and made us feel so welcome. It is a restaurant that I would recommend to all. You wont be sorry. It was a pleasure having lunch there, I am looking forward to dinner soon.

Great service, they accidentally miscalculated when wed be able to get in for a reservation and did all they could to make up for it. An appetizer on the house, many apologies and offering of free espresso. Some of the best service Ive ever received. Not to mention the absolutely delicious food. Lasagna and Alfredo sauces were the stars. Maybe the best tiramisu Ive ever had as well

This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants that is still a bit of a secret. The gnocci is excellent and something youll find yourself craving from time to time. The Mista salad along with spinach and pesto Pizza makes for an excellent dinner. The owner and staff are always friendly and so happy to see visitors to their restaurant. They make you feel as if youre in their house.

We knew from the moment we walked in that this would be a restaurant to add to our list of favorites! Henry and his staff greeted us with the warmest welcome and it only got better from there! The Cesar salad, lasagna and tortellini special were all amazing! To our surprise, we were treated with a tiramisu on the house! It was excellent! We cant wait to come back!

This is a true Italian restaurant. The owner takes care of each table personally to make certain your experience was the best possible. He makes all the dressings, sauces, breads and even the noodles himself! We had the Fettuccine Pollo paired with a glass of Ca Momi Rosso di Napa. Excellent choice. And then to top it off we had the tiramisu. Prefect!
