This was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had in a restaurant. My son ordered a dish on the menu that was described as pasta with a spicy sauce, however the sauce was so extremely spicy that after a few bites he couldnt continue eating it. The 2 others in our party (including one who loves really hot, spicy food) and myself all took a bite and we all agreed none of us could possibly eat it. We notified the waitress there was a problem with the food and asked if he could have something else. Then the cook ( who I think is the owner) came out to our table angry and asked my son what the problem was, and we told him. He said "it says spicy on the menu" and we explained that this was way beyond what someone would think of as spicy and we had no way of telling that from the menu, and that there was no way anyone could eat it. The cook just walked away. They took the plate of food and brought a different entrée, however by this time my son had lost his appetite. Then, on leaving we realized they had charged us for both entrees without telling us they were going to even though they had taken the entrée away. When confronted by this, the manager refused to refund us for the entrée and said that the cook (owner?) said we had to be charged for it because he had to throw it away. If I had know this I would have taken the entrée home and made it edible myself, but I was never given the chance. Instead they just stole the money that I paid for the entrée from me. The cook came out and gave my daughter a dirty look. This was a birthday dinner for my daughter that was ruined. We will never return to this place again, the owner/management are bullies, they are deceitful and have terrible people and communication skills.

If you have special diet requirements, avoid this place! Overall the food was tasty, but rather small portions. The lasagna was flat and my understanding was that it just tasted OK according to other members of my group. My biggest issue was that I informed the waitress at the very start of our visit that my husband and I didnt consume dairy or meat. I asked her to give us a heads up if we were ordering anything that wasnt vegan. She repeated back to me, so I assumed she understood the concept. Fortunately neither of us have allergies to dairy like his cousin, or wed probably be dead right now. She brought out breadsticks and prepared oil plates with no grated cheese on them for us, so I figured the bread was safe until someone else in my group mentioned they were like Olive Gardens. My husband had already tasted his and suspected it had butter. When I asked the waitress if they were prepared with butter, she just said "oh, sorry" and walked away. For dinner I wanted veggies with my pasta, so I requested the Pasta Primavera with pomodoro sauce. I was told no, the chef wont do that, so I just got spaghetti with pomodoro. It tasted good, but at this point I was suspicious of all the food and couldnt enjoy my meal. I would have liked some bread, and asked it there was any kind of bread without butter. Again the answer was no. We were told no to relatively simple requests probably three or four times, but I dont remember what the other ones were (the other requests were made by the non-vegan members of our party). Personally, my husband and I will not be returning due to lack of vegan options and no willingness to accommodate simple customer requests.

Dined there on April 28, 2017. Id give this place 7 stars if I could. I hate to throw around hyperbole but this was maybe the best restaurant meal Ive ever had. Its maybe not fair to other restaurants how good this place is. This is an excellent place and not just "for Whitewater." This is big-city good with a small town atmosphere. Another reviewer said this was "one of the best Italian places in Whitewater." Theres a better one? We started with the bruschetta and it was outstanding. Then the warm bread with the rosemary-infused evoo with parmesan. Excellent touch. The salad was also very good with an excellent ranch dressing. I forget the name of my entree, it wasnt the regular spaghetti, it was the bigger one, sort of spaghetti-on-steroids and it was outstanding. It was a heaping plate of food that I didnt think Id be able to finish but it was so good I ate it all. For those few reviews complaining of small portions, is your stomach the size of a bathtub? My only regret was eating so much I didnt have room for dessert. Even the after-dinner cherry candy was excellent. The chef came out to the dining room to greet guests, also a nice touch. Its hard to say enough about this place. If I were a better writer, Id be more eloquent in my praise. Its that good. Whitewater is very lucky to have a place like this. Ill be back.

I was visiting from out of town and stopped in to order carry out!( I was dumped by my daughter so forced to dine solo lol) I was greeted by several of the staff who were genuinely welcoming! The decor is very very nice! Unexpectedly so quite frankly! I sat at the small bar waiting for my order of Alfredo w/ chicken. began talking with the friendly staff and a lively conversation ensued!!! When my food was ready i changed my mind and dined right at bar! The food was absolutely amazing!!! Quite possibly the best Ive ever had!!! I have to commend the owner and staff for truly making it a memorable experience! Great food, laughter, and enjoyable conversation! I highly recommend and I will undoubtedly return when in the area!!!!!! Note to staff... Talking heads!!! You better be listening lol, travel to Europe!!!! and finally kudos to my fist bump Alfredo friend!!!! Thank you to all who made a dumped dad have a memorable night !!!!!

A true jem hidden in small town whitewater. Went there on an extremly busy night, (parents bringing their kids back to college after winter break) but still received excellent service. The owner and 2 waitresses were overwhelmed with the amount of people pouring into this tiny place, however they still made time to come to our table to chat. Food was incredible, my lasagna (the special) was perfect comfort food, and my wife ordered the arrabiata. We were both delighted by the spiciness of the sauce. Rarely can you find something spicy on a Midwestern menu, much less something this delicious. You can tell the sauce was prepared fresh as the prosciutto was crisp not soggy, and the flavors were bright and bold. Yes it was spicy, but pleasantly so, if you order arrabiata, you should expect that. It is a shame that some Midwesterners fear flavors like this. Very excited to come back.

My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place!! A perfectly beautiful little mood lit Italian Restaurant for a romantic evening in our little Whitewater community!! The food is absolutely outstanding, very authentic, and homemade as well as an absolutely delightful staff. I recommend Jake as a server to anybody, very friendly guy who will make you feel right at home! (I believe he is there Tuesdays and Thursdays) You may also request gluten free for everything I believe!! Overall, I absolutely recommend this place to anybody who loves homemade Italian food and who is looking for both romantic, or even casual outings!!
