Wanted to love it but didnt. For mobility challenged folks and those carrying kids...a warning...the front step is unusually high. We went for breakfast...pleasant surroundings good service. Neither of us cared for the breakfast potatoes, all crust no flavor, and you cant depend on them to soak up any soft egg yolk. My husband had the steak and eggs. The steak was definitely flavorful and tender and would bring us back to try a lunch or dinner. No toast was served, and it was necessary. I had the Philly steak skillet and for me it was a fail. It was very greasy drenched in oily onions and peppers so nothing else could be tasted. The eggs appeared to have been cooked surrounded and under the meat and were unseasoned and underdone. The overwhelming taste was of greasy onions and peppers, emphasis on greasy. The meat on its own was tender. Based on that meal, I was glad to leave, with most of the greasy meat and veggies remaining on my plate. Thank heavens for the toast to soak up some of the grease in my stomach. Recommend: Serve small and large juice. The OJ was good but really too large a serving for most people. Remove the Philly dish from the breakfast menu or learn to cook without so much grease. Add toast to the steak and eggs plate. We will try Green grass again solely because of the quality of the steak but wont dare breakfast again. Parents: they do have a supply of kids toys and books to keep the little ones entertained.

I was recently at Green a grass cafe and truth be told- the service, food and atmosphere were all around great. As a manager at a local restaurant, I enjoy eating at small local restaurants, and I chose Green Grass because their employees all Enjoy their job and they make you feel welcomed. Today their Chef (Deshawn) personally came out and asked what I would like for breakfast, told him roughly what I was looking for and he said, "Say no more". My food was hot, delicious and again The Chef personally walked my food out. Green Grass is a great addition to our small, yet up and coming community. Awesome service from the back of the house, all the way to the front. Two thumbs up.

One of my favorite restaurants with a fun atmosphere and great value breakfast food that will not disappoint. Located just off of UW- La Crosses campus this is a frequent place for students to grab a meal. The restaurant has a very mellow cafe feel without the chain coffee shop feel. They now offer Pearl Ice cream - a local favorite of very creamy ice cream without being overly sweet. This is one of my favorite restaurants to bring friends and family from out of town!

Ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich for take out the service was prompt. The atmosphere was great very relaxing clean hip cafe feel. Lots of TVs if you want to catch a game while you relax and eat. Now lets get to the food which was actually real! You could tell the ingredients were nice and fresh the chicken was cooked properly overall good sandwich. If your looking for cafe in La Crosse I would recommend that you check out Green Grass Cafe.

The perfect collection of unique breakfast choices have attracted our repeat patronage! Standouts - quality FRESH fruit, really good bacon, "Java Lava" pancakes, memorable taste combinations on the menu! Weve even noticed the low-level bins of activities that young kids can easily reach. Note accessibility is accommodated through the east door for wheel chairs - not the best, but it works.

We walked in with our three kids and were optimistic after reading the reviews and seeing toys for the kids at the door. Unfortunately, we were never able to try anything since the first and only words that were spoken to us were "we arent seating any tables for 45 minutes." I can completely understand that, but perhaps a welcome might be justified? Or at least some type of explanation.

Very large menu full of great food. Weve always had good service. We go for breakfast and for lunch. Both options are great and the beer selection is nice. Their pancakes are really good- made with Pearl Street Brewerys Java Lava. I wish they had a sandwich punch card or something where you could try them all! I always end up ordering the same thing but am never disappointed.

State track meet going on. Maybe that is why service was average to below average. Wife loved her breakfast wrap but the Denver omelette I had was just ok. Had to ask for "bottomless" coffee a couple of times even though it wasnt very busy. Seemed extremely short staffed.

Food was really good, staff was friendly and efficient and prices were moderate. I loved the cozy feeling I got when I walked in and how enjoyable the service was. I would definitely go back and recommend it to people visiting the La Crosse area!

Food was very tasty. Service was marginal. At 8:30 on a Monday morning they had no pancake batter available. Menu offered strawberries on the pancakes they also where not available.

Great service. Large portions. Pretty cheap too. The shrimp po boy was delicious. I recommend getting a side of coleslaw in addition to what comes on the po boy.
