relaxing setting, cheerful good service and good food ( dont get the homeade sausage patties) my opinion however menu clearly states substitutions avail here is my issue ive been eating here alot say 2-3 times a week for breakfast one of the only decent places ive found (for breakfast) in this area this place clearly does a brisk good business IT IS MAKING MONEY NO DOUBT IT CHARGES $10 FOR THE CHEAPEST BREAKFAST ( 2-EGGS, POTATOES ,ENGLISH MUFFIN , MEAT ie bacon or sausage) where i live in south florida i can get this meal at several places for under $6 i understand we are not in florida ok i get it but i substitute the english muffin for another bread ie bagel and IM CHARGED 15% EXTRA ON TOTAL BILL????? THATS CORRECT AN EXTRA $1.50 IF YOUR GONNA HAVE GENERALLY HIGH PRICES AND PUT SUBSTITUTIONS AVAIL ON THE MENU AT THE VERY LEAST ADD THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA FOR A SUBSTITUTION IF YOU DO MAKE ONE PS. IM AN EXCELLENT TIPPER BUT WOULD CLEARLY TIP LESS TO MAKE UP FOR BEING GOUGED FOR A PIECE OF BREAD AND I WILL SEEK OUT OTHER PLACES TO EAT BREAKFAST SUCH A SHAME BECAUSE OF A CLEAR MONEY GRAB BY MANAGEMENT THE GOOD WAIT STAFF WILL LOOSE TIPS GOOD CUSTOMERS (LIKE MYSELF) WILL LOOK TO SPEND OUR MONEY ELSEWHERE TO BAD GOOD PLACE OTHER THAN THIS ISSUE :( TAKE NOTE MANAGEMENT SORRY JUST FELT I HAD TO RANT ABOUT THIS

BEYOND AWFUL! Ive been Here once before on a Saturday. I had GF pancake. It was good, served with real maple syrup. Service was average, not terrible. Since Nowhere nearby serves gluten free pancakes, I decided to come back today. Since it was a Sunday I called ahead to reserve a table for two. We arrived and the place was extremely crowded. Regardless, because I had called ahead we were seated within 5 minutes. We ordered coffee drinks and breakfast at the same time. Drink order took 15 minutes to arrive. Another 35 minutes passed, but still no food. Other tables that had been seated later than us were already served their meals. I asked the server about our order and she said it would be an additional 10 minutes: a total of 45 minutes for a standard breakfast order! We said that was unacceptable and let them know wed be leaving and I asked to see manager. He apologized saying it was busy. And offered his Business card so that we could CALL him next time we were coming. Call him!? Apparently to give him a heads up so that our next experience would be better...why couldnt TODAYS experience be better? I told him we were visiting and wouldnt be back. He did not even offer to pay for our coffees! WOW! That came Straight from Management! What a class act.

My wife and I have family in Baton Rouge, and its become a tradition that the family gather at Another Broken Egg one last time before we head out to the airport to leave. Yesterday, we called ahead to notify them that wed have a party of 10 arriving at 11:30. We were thanked for the heads up. When we arrived, we found out that nothing had been communicated to the hostess about our party, and we proceeded to wait almost an hour for a table. Service was slow and generally disorganized, but I felt like our server was more a victim of poor organization than he was at fault. The worst part was when our food actually came out. Half our party ordered lunch items while the other half ordered breakfast. Burgers came out first, and one of them was raw in the center. 10 minute later, breakfast items finally came out and it was obvious they had been forgotten under the heat lamp. Poached eggs were now hard boiled, hollandaise sauce was coagulated, and pancakes were like rubber. Meanwhile, tables seated after us had been served, eaten, paid and left. We werent alone in our displeasure that day. We overheard two other tables complain about issues with their food. Needless to say, well be finding a new place for this gathering tradition.

For some odd reason a restaurant with "egg" in its name has trouble with the art of how to fry an egg. If you go to another "steak house" you wouldnt expect when you order a medium well they would bring you a rare steak. Why is it ever time I order over MEDIUM I get either a hard yolk or a runny egg including egg whites that run. Over Medium is a cooked egg white with a gel like yolk, not hard and not runny. Another broken egg seriously needs to invest in training their cooks on the difference. Bacon is thick and good. Sausage is good which I never tried but they messed up my order and brought me that, so I tried that. Everything is good here but the eggs, unless you like them scrambled or boiled. That seems the only way they know how to cook an egg. ABE, take the "egg" out of your name. Hire more staff for the weekends, especially in the bar, this server is too busy to offer great service.

Restaurant was not busy, maybe half full. We were seated and got our drinks. Ordered an appetizer and two meals. After a wait another waitress brought us our meals. We asked where our app was and she told us it must have been the one that had been waiting. She offered to take back our meals and keep them warm. We said no thank you and in a few minutes our waitress brought us our app. The baked brie was barely warm, not baked. The crab cake on my meal was cold. Our waitress did not visit our table throughout the entire meal and we had to flag her down to get the check and a box. UPDATE: Manager contacted us and apologized. She gave us a gift certificate and we wnt back and had a nice dining experience. Had a different waitress of course.

One of the best breakfast/brunch places in Baton Rouge. If only they opened 24hrs. ;) In my opinion the must haves are the all-you-can-drink coffee , the mini beignets with that orange and mint mermalade that is to die for , biscuits and gravy (biscuits were so fluffy yet they had substance) and any of their skillets. Trust me cant go wrong on this place. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and the atmosphere feels like being on a newer American dinner but with its own Southern flair. Service is awesome! Staff is friendly and courteous. Food is just superb! The menu is not long but they have plenty of options for everyone.

The worst service and food !! There was maybe 5 tables n the whole place and the food took 30 mins. when it came my eggs was so over cooked it I had to send them back just to get them so under cooked I couldnt eat them my steak was under cooked getting blood all on my English muffin gross! By then Everything else was cold so I gave up paid and left. So I had to pay 40 $ for 2 meals (which my boyfriends food was just as bad )just too have to go get more food Cuz we both left hungry ! Only goof thing was the coffee

Sigh. Maybe I should take a break. After waiting 26 mins for my order, this is what I received. Mind you, most visits Im wondering if its The Flash cooking since my order has never taken more than 10-12 mins...With a great presentation. Today wasnt the case. This was far and away the worst experience Ive had at any restaurant in BR in a while...And I STILL TIPPED tho not my standard 18%. Another Broken Egg is my first choice most days. Yep. Im taking a break.
