To give an update on my personal experience I brought some friends here about three weeks ago and we ordered five burgers and we were seated at the table that is set off by itself near the bar closer to the kitchen. While the wait was longer, around 30 or so minutes on a Saturday evening, we all were happy with our burgers and sides. I had the special Porkys Revenge and it really had some excellent flavors. --- Wanted to add as of 03/25/16 We noticed gluten free bun as an option. We have several friends that cant have gluten. Very glad they added this. --- High quality, superbly cooked 10oz beef patty. On a choice of high quality bun. Extremely flavorful. Reasonable price for a large gourmet burger I would call it. $8 for a burger or $10 for a cheeseburger. Certain toppings extra. Both burger and cheese burger include a modest side that complements the burger nicely. You can build your own or order a special from the board. Also there is a board for the current beers on tap. Give it a try, we enjoyed it very much. We will be going back to give some new combinations a try. Staff was attentive and helpful. We sat down when it wasnt real busy and got our burgers quickly. --- Update 7/10/16 4 Stars.

2.5 stars - Service was good, drinks were good, food and wait time were average at best. We were seated as a group of 6 in a little alcove that they admitted was unfinished (had a plastic folding table set up), and that was fine. However, the booth and table were both clearly stained and dirty from other eaters, with crumbs and spills all over the place, and mold on the ceiling. Service was relatively attentive, bar service/drinks were good (though they served a 13% imperial stout in a 14oz jar! - not necessarily good or bad, just odd), but our food, 6 burgers, took about an hour and 15 min to come out, and they still didnt get the orders right, despite their ordering system, which should be foolproof. The burgers were all okay, though the cook level between 3 people who ordered medium rare varied between quite rare, medium rare, and close to well done. Toppings were fresh and plentiful, but the patties seemed overly salted/seasoned, and really pretty average considering its the only thing on the menu. Seems like they werent ready for a busy night, or simply arent ready to run a restaurant of this size. Probably wouldnt return.

The burger was honestly really good, the pulled pork was just as good. The reason for 3 stars is as follows. You walk in, are greeted by a friendly waitress which is great, then they give you a 2 minute speech on how to order. Rule number 1, you cant add or remove anything from the burgers on the menu, they explain that the chef is very sensitive about his "flavor profiles", come on man, this isnt Chopped or whatever, this is Algoma, im hungry. IF you want something you dislike left off of the burger they actually make you fill out a form and sign your name, its kind of ridiculous. But really, the burger is great, the chef just seems a bit pretentious. My only other complaint is the soggy fries.

Staff, atmosphere, and food all awesome. The staff were friendly, helpful, and quick to greet you at the door to explain how things work. The building is a unique setting, and the background music was spot on. The food (I got the Cuban and Chicken Fried Idaho Potatoes) were perfect. Although the Algoma Burger Company is very different than any other eating establishment that I have been to, it is well worth the learning curve. [Tip: Do not go with picky eaters, as it may become a bit of a hassle]

Very good burger. We came right after church let out on a Saturday evening and we waited only a 15 minutes for our food. Seating is limited but great charm. They use a "fill out yourself" system for their menu. Chicken sandwiches, burgers and wings menu only (which is great). Beer is available. Overall a great burger and chicken fried french fries to be had. I wouldnt suggest a party larger than 6 during prime dinner time.

Very good burgers and service. Drinks were poor and expensive. Ordered a glass of wine, should have taken a picture. Lucky to be considered half a glass and tasted like it was open for week. Given $44 bill for two burger, a 1/2 glass of opened wine and a beer in Algoma, WI. I doubt Ill revisit much.

Edit: Bumped down, called for a carry-out, they got literally every item wrong. They made it right, but I had to drive back to get the ingredients to fix the order at home. Burgers are tasty if consistently overcooked. Sweet Potato fries are not worth it, soggy.

The wait was a little long but the burgers and fries were good. A little pricey for a burger in my opinion ("gourmet" or not) maybe just do without the extra cost for the standard toppings. The place is charming and unique, has great potential.

Cool place to eat right on the main drag. Food was awesome! I got the Porkys Revenge burger (burger, slaw, pulled pork, bbq, & bacon). Staff was very friendly and attentive even though we were there at a busy time. I will definitely be back.

Good food but had to ask for sugar 3 times. Got our food and no sides,asked twice for the sides and when they came mushrooms were cold. Told the manager in training and he argued that they were right and I was wrong. Will not go again.

I went here once before, in December. I loved my experience & I suggested that they got gluten free buns. I had eaten mind without a bun, due to allergies. Now they have a gluten free bun and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you!

HUGE BURGERS! Came in and thought wow, 14$ for a burger . . . Ordered the Red Hot Chili Pepper and it was awesome! Make sure to get the cole slaw because you wont be able to eat all the onion rings! 5/5 ill be back for more! :)
