A friend recommended Earthdog Cafe and we couldnt have been happier with our 3 trips there while we stayed in Berkeley Springs. All of our food was outstanding but I really recommend the Pork BBQ w/ their Potato Salad. It was just perfect. Their menu is a bit limited but they are new and I can only imagine that their selection will grow as time goes on. The atmosphere is very casual and all the staff is welcoming. They are VERY kid friendly too and offered our 20 mos old son toys to play with at the table, not just the typical crayons. They have kinda new age hippie thing going on with the decor and it gave the place a quirky kind of class that I havent experienced before. They seem to be adding on to the restaurant in stages. It looks like the bar area was recently finished and they just got their liqueur license. Service was great. Tommy waited on us two of the three times and he was attentive and eager ensure our experience was as good as possible. Ask for him if you check it out. You will not be disappointed. 5/5 stars and 6/5 if you considered that Earthdog Cafe is way above the competition in Berkeley Springs. To be fair there are a few places we havent had a chance to check out yet.

This place is closing and I can see why. I dont even know how it go that many stars and good reviews. Maybe a change over from how they use to do bbq. We ate there this past weekend and food was bland. Although good portions, potatoe salad-meh, no seasoning and not really a taste at all, fries were fine, brisket-possible that it was baked because it sure wasnt smoked; it was tender, but again no taste at all, ribs-were boiled ribs, then finished on grill; no seasoning, not smoked, bland as well. BBQ sauce not homemade, tasted like Sawyers BBQ sauce. No bread with entrees even though pretty sure menu said it was to be served with some. The only thing was decent was the kids grilled cheese. Place is grimy looking, needs a good detailing, but hey they are closing anyway so who cares. They had random nick nacks for sale inside (like a thrift store). I mean the outside appearance should have given it away to be set for disappointment. Good portion sized food, but very bland and nothing was smoked. Go to Tonys Butcher Shop down the street

Ive been going to BS for 20 years and only until recently have some restaraunts opened for the average diner (I love fancy too but the artsy fartsy gets a little trite for guys who want good chow). I MUST admit that I by=passed this place for over a year because given its name I thought it was gonna be some tree-hugging vegan place... only when I passed by and they had the BBQ fired up and doing it thing did I venture in. Good BBQ, nice casual tavern-like atmosphere. we sat at the bar (which at the moment was not well stocked - but we made due), ate, and watched a game. Am definitely going back. Comments - Better TV corner for the sports fan and a little bit better selection of some of the more popular booze

The staff was very friendly but the food left something to be desired. We had the Reuben and a turkey sandwich which were bland and messy. The homemade fries were fresh and delicious though. Maybe its because were from VA and dont understand the liquor laws but it is my understanding it is legal for a restaurant to serve beer at 4pm on a Sunday..they have advertised online and even on the menu that they serve beer but when we asked for the beer menu, they refuse, saying they dont serve alcohol. That was confusing and frustrating because we chose that restaurant based on its reviews and the fact that they advertised craft beer.

Requested gluten free omelet, my granddaughter got sick. Waitress brought out 3 meals, 10 minutes later, 2 more meals were brought out. My meal was delivered 15 minutes after the first 3. It looked like it had been thrown together. Cheese steak with mushrooms and fried onions. Cheese was hanging off the roll, had 3 mushroom pieces and few onions. They were not busy at the time we were seated and the were not busy through service. No excuse for any of this. Gluten intolerance is serious. And we were assured a gluten free pan would be used. Why would we ever bother to return to this dive?

That place is the most dirtiest place I ever stepped a foot in, the floors are not swept or moped, had dead spiders on benches that we were seating on.. order our food to bring us spoiled potatos that they called fries... Burgers were burnt.... Very bad service.... Me and my family got up and walked out.... And I cant believe people here in this town recommend this place... Please take my word, go to McDonalds two miles up the street..... Trust me. .

Good food! Kinda strange wait staff but friendly. Waitress with half shaved hair and a guy wearing a floor length skirt but great people! Had a West "By God" Virginia style of gyro that was fantastic! Folks we were with had wings and BBQ and said that was good as well. Kinda strange decor too but it was clean. Long story even longer enjoyed the experience but its a piece of genuine WV kitsch. Go expecting odd.

We know BBQ, and Earth Dogs is poor. The brisket was dry and uninspiring, and the pulled pork very bland. Their sauce tasted like it had "liquid smoke" in it, and was gooey and almost bitter. The people were nice enough, but if youre interested in authentic barbecue, head a few states southward. It would be great for the pitmasters at Earth Dog to do the same, so they could learn how to prepare real cue.

Wonderful food, excellent prices and very laid back attitude. I have never had anything on the menu that was not delicious, house-made and great quality, from their salads to their BBQ. Breakfast all day, and a darned good breakfast too - home made corned beef hash, home made hash browns, smoky bacon, and a fresh fruit cup... yum!

My wife and I found this hidden gem on our recent vacation in Berkeley springs and have will definitely be returning any time we come back through. The breakfast is fantastic, large portions and great flavor. Waitstaff is very helpful and friendly, and this restaurant just has a very homey vibe. A must try for everyone!

Good food, nice folks, service is great until they get slammed, kitchen too small to handle it all, sometimes not enough wait staff. If your not in a hurry eat here. I recommend the endless summer salad and the teriyaki wings, the brisket with brown gravy is awesome too! Oh and go for karaoke fun too.
