Drove past this on my way to Santa Cruz from San Francisco with my family of six until my wife said "Hey turn around and go back to that bakery". I am so glad we did. Between the six of us we sampled most sections of the menu. The burgers, crab cakes and calamari were awesome. My wife, who doesnt normally eat burgers, loved it - home made buns, hand patted meat. My picky 11 year old ate every bit of the clam chowder. And the price didnt empty my wallet. Oh yeah, the backery part was great as well. If you are looking for quiet, quaint, etc etc, this isnt your place. If you are looking for a unassuming hole in the wall that is awsome this is it.

The chips were excellently cooked and the fish fresh - but the batter on the fish was beyond excellent - just exquisite - service was friendly and attentive without being in-your-face. Did I mention the portion was large - I was full - so much so that I had to pass on the delightful looking fruit pies and patries - my only regret!!

Sitting here waiting on my food. My wife got hers a while ago. Shes almost done and Im still waiting. And shes eating slowly. Wish wed gone next door to the whale. Update: food was really good, almost worth the wait. Upgrading to three stars.

This is actually located at Highway 1 and Ocean Street, Davenport, CA. Unfortunately it has been claimed at Local Business Center so I could not drag it to the correct location on the map.

A great lunch spot while driving Highway 1. They have a sun soaked patio that is really nice (even though its next to the highway). Some of the seafood is a bit tasteless though.

July 2010: The food was spectacular. The ambiance was sweet. We sat at a table by the window, and enjoyed the beautiful views of the ocean. Its a diamond in the rough :)

Food was fresh and service was prompt. I would definately dine there again. My only (minor) complaint is that there is only 1 restroom and it was constantly in use.

Friendly staff, great food and tasty baked treats assuming you have the room for them! If youre headed north on Highway 1 its the last good food for a few hours!
