I didnt even get a chance to go inside. I parked and began to approach when I was stopped in my tracks by some woman. She said " This is not a public parking lot, customers only so you have to leave" with a nasty tone as...i...was...approaching! Do I not look the part? Because I planned on spending big after reading the reviews. I didnt bother to protest because if thats how they treat people who arent dressed to impress or maybe minority then I want nothing to do with it. Someone told me that Italians in general dont like blacks but I dont entertain stereotyping or hearsay. Ill take my money back to the Marriott where they treat me with respect. I thought Seattle was diverse and open...disappointed but their loss. If youre ok with this then goodbfor you but I dont support companies that do such things.

The lamb burger is back - my wife had it Friday night, Nov 25. This is a restaurant weve always wanted to try when we lived in Seattle. We were visiting from Anchorage, AK, and took our friends to dinner there. I had the Portugese Fish Stew, which is actually a fine cioppino with a Portugese Sausage on top - very tasty. One of our guests had the chicken for which they are justifiably famous - most excellent. On top of the good food, the service was non-pariel - very knowledgeable server and the wine wasnt bad either. Next time in Seattle, we are going back!

I made a Google plus account just for this review. Thats the length Im willing to go because the service was that bad. Food was undercooked to the point of being dangerous. Although I asked for medium rare, it came out blue. But make sure you dont tell the passive aggressive staff who are pros at talking down to you with a smile on their face. Never in my life have I been treated this way in a restaurant. Left without tipping for the first time ever. EVER. Stay far, far, away from here.

This mine and my husbands go to spot to treat ourselves. Best burger in Seattle, the Saltoro burger. Their medium is perfect! Steak frites, the halibut, and the sea salt chicken are among my favorites. Its cozy and romantic inside. The staff is amazing, although Christie is our favorite server. She always remembers us, and is super down to earth. LOVE LOVE LOVE having a restuarant this lovely in our North Seattle neughborhood!

Looked forward to this meal all week while my husband & I were traveling in Seattle. The reputation of the owner (who has several other restaurants in the vicinity) attracts visitors and locals alike. We indulged in several appetizers, salads and entrees with another couple. Stuffed grape leaves were amazing. Unique selections, beautiful decor. It was a splurge at $80 for four, but it was quite a treat. Highly recommend...

Lived near Saltoro for years, never visited until a few days ago. Very pleasantly surprised! The food was awesome, and the restaurant had a nice cozy interior as well as lots of outdoor seating! I had the seafood stew, which was delicious, and an amazing goat cheese panna cotta for dessert. Overall a great place if you feel like a fancy dinner without driving all the way downtown.

I have been a semi-regular at Saltoros since they opened. They are not perfect and its true they dont have some of the really cool things theyve had in the past (lamb burgers and a fried wonton that was awesome), but they are consistent and they are a true neighborhood gem. Its a place for locals to have a nice meal, decent wine and outstanding service. Prices are reasonable.

My fiance and I love Saltoro. A decently wide menu of excellently-prepared and scrumptious food, My current favorite is the shrimp alfredo...OMG: it was beyond delicious. My other favorite is the Short-Rib Agnolotti. She prefers the Roasted Cauliflower appetizer and the Halibut with a Charred Broccolini side. The atmosphere is cozy, even romantic.

Great restaurant for an Italian meal with family or friends. I was a little dissapointed because when we arrived they did not have the outdoor seating set up but we were happy enough inside. The food was delicious, we got truffle fries and I went with the half chicken which was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were a bit lumpy though.

We are locals and do regular date nights here. The food is good (not blow your mind), prices decent, and service* has always been great for us. Best place your ever eaten? Nope. One of (the only?) higher end experiences in the Shoreline area, absolutely! *we usually dine in the bar, but have also had great service in the restaurant.

Absolutely delighted with my dining experience at Saltoro. The service was excellent, very attentive. The food was top notch, and its very evident that the chef really knows how to cook. As an out of tower I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in Seattle. Five stars all around!

Saltoro is a great mix of all the things I like in a restaurant: great food, interesting menu options, sophisticated but casual atmosphere, neighborhood friendliness, all at modest prices. I especially loved the pear ginger cocktail and the feta appetizer.

This is a place everyone dreams of...great food, comfortable atmosphere and gracious service. This is our go to place when we want a quiet well appointed dinner. Definitely a favorite of the neighborhood, but up to the caliber of all Seattle restaurants!

Eat here all the time never been disappointed. Where I popped the question to a lady who is now my wife. What else can happen here!? Will I scratch off a lotto ticket there and win big? No matter, this place is amazing through and through.

My wife and I recently ate here after living in the neighborhood for nearly two years. We were blown away buy the food and the atmosphere. Didnt know that North Greenwood/ almost to Shoreline had anything of the sort to offer.

Ill admit that I go to Saltoro primarily for their lamb burger. It really is one of the best that can be found in Seattle. Soooo yummy! And in the north end, there is no other place to go.

To call Saltoro, an Italian restaurant, is to miss all the wonderful, nuanced, flavors that are expressed in their dishes. Try it, I think youll like it.

Only place in the world that I will go to just for the chicken. Everytime I eat chicken somewhere else I am disappointed.
