The first time we had dinner at Budd Bay Cafe it was a great dining experience, however, tonight we had dinner there and, to say the least we were very disappointed. Started off with dirty silverware on the table, then we ordered the Seafood combo and the halibut fillet was nothing more than a fish stick. When we talked to the waitress about it she showed no remorse at all.. if anything the attitude was more of "how dare you make a complaint". She did end up taking the fish stick to replace it and came back with the same piece of fish (cold no less) and another piece that was more appropriately sized for the dish that was ordered. I dont like to complain but when you order a dinner from a place like that and you end up with basically the same meal you can get from skippers for half the price, its a bit ridicules. When you order a Seafood combo you expect to get seafood, not a plate full of french fries.

This has traditionally been our go to brunch spot but visit on 8/20/17 was extremely disappointing. Halfway through the meal I finally had to go to the crepe station to find someone and ask for something to drink. The gentleman was very nice and tried to locate someone for us. We were able to get coffee and water and hot chocolate for our grandson but were never offered mimosas which is kind of an intrinsic part of the whole brunch thing; at least orange juice would have been nice. We believe we may have spotted (will refrain from actually naming him in this review) the waiter who was supposed to working our section as he did at least take time to flip open the check folder from another abandoned customer- checking the amount of his tip perhaps?

Personally I love Budd Bay Cafe. The drinks are simple but you get what youre looking for from them I love the seared Ahi appetizer and their clam chowder, the steamer clams rock as well. The establishment is kept clean including the restrooms. As far as the waitstaff goes its really the luck of the draw. I enjoy all of the wait staff but some members or just a little slower in their response time than others but thats the Human Condition. Depending on the time of day that you visit parking can be either a breeze or a bit difficult but the restaurant is located right on the bay so what you gain in viewfactor you lose in parking, personally I think the trade-off is worth it

I had Budd Bay cater my wedding in July and they were AWESOME! I had prime rib and crab stuffed chicken breasts for an entree, pasta and salad delight, we ordered the clams they have for their weekend lunch buffet, and the service was absolutely wonderful. Steph was patient through all my revisions and special requests and the day of the wedding, one of the families that were our guests told us they were allergic to gluten and the staff immediately remedied that by going down to the restaurant and getting what was needed. I cant stop raving about the service enough! Trust me, this is DEFINITELY the place to get your catering from!

Whenever we go through Olympia and have time we love to stop in to Budd Bay Cafe for a bite and a drink. It has a great view overlooking the bay and a nice patio to sit and enjoy the meal if weather and time allow. I had the panko crusted lingcod (a wonderful local fish) with fries and slaw - basically fish and chips. I loved every bite. My wife had the seafood salad and really enjoyed it. Budd Bay Cafe has great atmosphere, good food, good service and reasonable prices. Highly recommend going there if you are in Olympia in search of some place to eat. Also nice to have a leisurely walk along the pier after you eat.

We had the Raging Cajun Salad but with fried calamari instead of chicken. Although it is good with the blackened chicken, it is even better withe calamari, just ask for it. The staff is very accommodating. The clam chowder is the staple here with sherry added. This is a local favorite. The shrimp and crab cocktails are always fresh and clean. The cocktail sauce is mixed a bit stronger with fresher horadish. It is quieter on off peak times and a romantic spot in the later evening. The views of the marina is great. The summer has outside seating and it is well managed. You may see me here from time to time.

My family and I are First time diners at Budd Bay Cafe as of today 8/12/17 I have to say the staff was very pleased, respectful and accommodating even thou we had a group of eight drop in without reservations on a Saturday night. The apps were excellent! Best crab cocktail Ive had in a long time. My wife and I both had the Fillet and lobster tails. The lobster was over cooked and the Fillets were not fillets, we inquired with our server in this and he told us their has been a mistake and the order he put in was for a top sirloin, not fillets. Whoops!!!!

Went for lunch for the first time today, my server was rude. Not just cold or unfriendly, straight out Rude. I ordered the mac & cheese and it was mediocre at best, my fiance ordered tuna tacos and they were also very underwhelming, my friend ordered the rosemary chicken and I will say that was actually really good. We also ordered the cobbler for dessert and it was disgusting. Anyways Im super disappointed because I wanted to try this place for a while now and my experience was horrible. I think its safe to say we wont be back.

I took my wife to B.B.C. for a nice dinner, and I was not disappointed. Her steak was delicious and juicy and my chicken parmesan was excellent. We showed up just moments too late for the sunset specials, but our waiter let us order them anyway. We got a seat right by the window and got to see the sun set and people walking by on the board walk. The price was ok for such a nice dining experience. I actually spent more when I ate at the Outback steak house, then at Budd Bay Cafe.

Horrible experience overall! Made a mistake on my order in which they took the food back, I asked them if I could place another order was told the kitchen was closed at 7:30pm when the sign out front says 8:30pm. They still charged me for the food they took back to the kitchen. We paid $21.99 for a meal we did not eat, when asked if I could have it to go since they would not take it off the bill they told us that it was already thrown away.

Casual waterfront dining with a great menu. Had the blackened salmon, the best salmon dish Ive had in awhile. It haunts me. I must return to try it again. Dont know what was going on with our server, so speak up if you see something odd about your tab (not overcharging us--she was going to short herself a tip)! Free parking out front, long sunset now that its summer, and an early bird menu that is even more reasonably priced.

I had the scallop prawn pasta it was warm and gross. Not very appealing as far as looks go. Small scallops under cooked asparagus and tomatoes werent evenly cut. More like three big half ass cut up bs. lol Idk even where to start with this place. My mom had the blackened con tacos that was underwhelming and thin. The mojito tasted like sugar water with no lime at all. Slow service rude staff. Not personable at all.
