Market Chef is my go to place in Friday Harbor. Was turned on to it about 4 years ago. I was in Friday Harbor on holiday. They prepared the box lunches for our kayaking trip. Excellent! Have been returning ever since. I now live in Friday Harbor and often have lunch there, great location fine staff. The crab cakes are a thing of beauty and flavor. I only wish it stayed open for dinner..but one can get food to go. Definite favorite!

We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and quality of the food! This crowded place first looked like a nice deli with outdoor seating, but their food is really delicious, well prepared and made-to-order sandwiches. Make sure to poke your head out into the garden for some quieter tables

Great sandwiches, ambiance and employees. We had the hardwood smoked ham sandwich, which came with sharp cheddar and a delicious honey mustard chutney. Also try out their cookies; we tried a key lime iced shortbread cookie which had the right amount of sweet/sour/buttery flavors.

AS a local, this is truly my favorite lunch spot on the island. Eating out of the deli case is my favorite way to go, the daily specials are amazing. I usually take stuff home for dinner. What a great place for fresh, local foods. Truly an island experience NOT to be missed.

I head straight to Market Chef after getting off the ferry. Fresh ingredients and knowledgable preparation are paired nicely with friendly staff and a neatly appointed dining area. Enjoy!

Fresh and healthy options in a mostly greasy-food city. Best meal on our 5 day stay in Friday Harbor. Deli style but great warm dishes. Had an amazing tuna salad and grilled veggies.

Service is great... Food is hit or miss. Soup was honestly terrible and I hate to say it becuse the people are so cool and nice. They need a new chef.
