I ordered a salad to go and was informed that they were busy and it would be 30 minutes - it was rude enough that I felt like they didnt really want me to place my order. I wouldnt have, but I had already spent too much time trying to find a good salad in a town full of restaurants that I have never tried. I got caught up at work so I was closer to 45 minutes getting there, but my salad still wasnt ready. I was hard pressed to find an employee that wasnt letting the lunch rush dictate the look on their faces (barely a smile in the joint). I ordered the turkey salad, with substituted cheese, and extra dressing ($0.40). The salad greens were plentiful and fresh. Thats all the good I have for it. There was little turkey, the turkey was obviously packaged out of the cold cut section of the grocery store, and I kinda expected the turkey to be warm (it wasnt). On top of that I received the two ranch dressings (remember I paid extra for one) that were not even half full, so ultimately I feel like I got one dressing split into two cups and charged extra for it. I had gotten good reviews from friends, but the restaurant did not live up to the hype. It only got 2 stars because the greens were fresh.

This is one of those mom and pop places you are always looking for. For under ten bucks I got an Italian sub, including Molinari salami (THE Cadillac of Italian dry salamis) that I could not eat but half of and then for under $4 a crazy big salad, loaded with tomatoes, and cucumbers and blue cheese dressing. It was crazy, especially after always feeling like most restaurants are cheaping out on their customers. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE on Commercial Ave near 5th street in Anacortes. You will NOT BE SORRY you went there. Promise! I just ate the other half for dinner!

Every time I go here I get the fresh mozz sandwich. it is so good! I cant say much about everything else because I think that is the only thing Ive tried. My mom got a shrimp sandwich and it was PACKED with shrimp! my 2 year old shared with her and she loved it. The sandwiches are good sized and filling. It is a friendly, lively atmosphere. I dont think I have ever gone here on a slow day or time. Lots of cute retro type advertisements on the wall. Looks like a cute local deli.. can imagine lots of teens have their first after school job here :)

Wonderful Lunches! old style Deli, everything homemade, and wonderful salads, great strawberry-lemonaid I would have knocked off a 1/2 of star and given a 4.5 if google let us, but not because of food, or cleanliness (which is great) but it is normally a little chilly inside, and it is very noisy during lunch hour which isnt their fault they have a line that goes through the building with the door opening and closing all the time. Its a WONDERFUL Lunch, try the French Dips, Sandwiches, Soups and Homemade Salads.

Typical deli, with very large sit down area. Done up in 30s to 60s advertising memorabilia. Order at counter with food delivered to your table. In good weather, a few outside seats. Menu runs from a few breakfast items to soups, salads and deli sandwiches. Clam chowder is often served and is a favorite. The sandwiches are huge. Rubin, French Dip are very flavorful. I found the meat loaf sandwich loaded, but without flavor. Desserts are very good here. Based on serving size, it is good value for the money.

This is THE PLACE to go in Anacortes for lunch. We always stop here if were in the town. Killer sandwiches, interesting and tasty desserts, and good home-made soups, too. They get quite a crowd, including what seems like half the people who live in Anacortes. But they are masters at handling the crowds on a summer weekend or really any time. Highly recommended! Bring a big appetite...

The best deli in Anacortes! Also the only deli in Anacortes, but despite that, still the best. Since I dont live in town anymore, I hadnt visited in years. I had a Supremo and it is exactly as I remembered it from when they first opened just down the block in 1981. Consistently delicious! I also had them cater an event at the depot recently. Everything went off without a hitch!

I am a big fan of lunch. I have been many many places for lunch. This is my favorite. The soups are always outstanding. The sandwiches are simple and delicious. I have been a twice a month regular for 25 years. Perhaps the best way to put it: If I were on death row, the Deli Club and a cup of chili beef stew from Gere-a-Deli would be my last meal request.

Gere a Deli catered our wedding reception last weekend. The food was amazing (appetizers, lasagna and salad) and the employees were very friendly and helpful at the event. Johanna helped plan the meal and was very attentive to details and the food was one of the few things I did not feel like I needed to worry about the day of the event.

El lugar es muy bonito. El trato es agradable y la comida es muy sabrosa. La única pega es que los sándwich van con patatas chip en vez de fritas

This is where I grab breakfast every time I come to Anacortes - staff that are genuinely friendly and human, food that is hearty and filling and not over-priced. I usually sit outside and people watch, breath in the salt air. Recommend going for a rambling drive and stopping here for breakfast!

This place will not disappoint any palate. Best quiche Ive ever eaten. One of our daughters is a finicky eater. Even she loved it. Her sandwich she said was the best turkey sandwich shes ever eaten. And thats saying A LOT! Their bread is AMAZING. Salads are top notch. The menu is fantastic.

The Fidalgo cookie (made by Gere a Deli) is the best we have ever tasted. It meets ALL the requirements of cookie, period! We were only passing through Anacortes, so we dont have access to them regularly. Good thing; wed gain a pound a month!! The sandwiches were great, too.

Great food, friendly service. Went during an off hour, so plenty of space and not busy. Most often I never think a place with this many things on the menu can do well, but the two very different things we got were really, really good.

Fantastic caterers! Gere-a-Deli catered our wedding and they were easy to coordinate with, provided fantastic food and service AND provided several tasty gluten-free options. I highly recommend them for events in the Anacortes area.

This place offers fresh food that is well priced. The location is great and the setting is nice and open. Outside seating is available and they offer a wide selection of deli goods and specials. One of, if not the best place in town.

Great simple food in hearty portions. Cookies are awesome, sandwiches and salads are delicious. Atmosphere with all the old signs is kind of like a county fair. I live in Kansas, but I felt right at home. A must visit.

We ordered several trays of fruit/meat/cheese/crackers to take around to business associates for Christmas - they were beautiful, professional, and exactly what we wanted! Everyone was impressed - thank you!!
