I went with a friend on a Friday night. We would have expected it to be busy, but it was practically empty. There was nobody in sight. The host showed up after 5 minutes and brought us to our seat without a smile, and mumbled asking us if we wanted drinks. It took us 20 or more minutes to get a chance to put in our food order. Our appetizer was good, but the rest of the food was nowhere near the quality Ive had in other places. After bringing us our food our server (who was also the host) disappeared. He never checked on us. We waited an hour for him to bring us our check and finally my friend went looking for him in the restaurant. I take pride in being very polite and gracious when eating out because I work in the service industry and know how hard it is. We gave this man no reason to treat us the way he did. I left incredibly angry and almost didnt leave a tip. I will never be returning.

Takeout order Pros: Food ready on time Kids meal portions large Cons: They forgot to put in fried rice with main combo Fried rice tasted like a burnt pan Drummettes have about 3 inches of fried coating BBQ Pork has a strong chemical smell and taste Kids and I agree that it may have been the worst Orange Chicken ever. Since this was a takeout order I have no comment on service, but since the parking lot was nearly empty on a Saturday night I have should have know what to expect. Two thumbs down.

Take Out was disappointing. Since our favorite Chinese Restaurant closed, we gave Golden Mum a chance. The Chicken Almond Sub gum and pork fried rice werent bad. The Sweet and Sour Chicken and Deep Fried Prawns had so much breading that it was doughy in the middle. It was like a treasure hunt to find the meat. Thankfully, the meat was fine. The soup and sweet and sour sauce need a new recipe. Not good. We wanted to love this place, we really did and hope the owners will tweak a few things.

This was our first time in the Golden Mum. The food is good as is the service. The furniture appeared old, but clean. Seating was kind of cramped. The environment was dark and noisy. It appeared the bar area had been recently renovated and that is where the customers were. In all fairness, the business is under new management so they may be updating the restaurant.

Low quality and not at all authentic chinese food, decided not to order after the place wreaked of cig smoke and low class company... more of a bar atmosphere. No one ever seems to be up front when we came in either. Waiting for next round of management... :-/

The food is the best Chinese here on the Peninsula! Service is warm and friendly, family oriented, comfortable, fair pricing and enjoyed by everyone Ive spoken with! Simple little place but good.

Takeout. Over breaded & overcooked small pieces of dry chicken for sweet and sour chicken. Sauce ok. More vinegar taste. Rice dry. Stir fried rice not very flavorful.
