I and a friend were at the Bellevue location one fri afternoon around 2:30 PM unaware that the location was closed. the door was open and we were greeted by a guy who seemed friendly. He informed us that the restaurant was closing soon and that we had to order quickly. (I wish we had decided to go elsewhere then but I am a pregnant lady and was quite hungry..note: I am not trying to gain any sympathy here with my pregnancy condition.)We ordered pretty quickly and was served soon understandeably since the guy was closing. I must clarify that the food was good and there were no issues. However, me and my friend decided to split and wasnt informed the price was going to a higher due to the split (found out about it only when we were about to pay). And then when I requested for more soup, I was told the kitchen was closing and didnt get extra. And then we had our main order and requested for hummus and was told the same reason - kitchen was closed and couldnt get it..can you imagine not getting hummus in a mediterranean restaurant? I was willing to pay but no...If the guy was closing (or closed!) why did he even decide to take customers and serve poorly? Poor service is worse than no service at all..and then half way through our meal and we got our check. Paid the guy since i knew he was in a hurry but thought we could eat comfortably..once i signed the bill, he said the restaurant was closed and literally asked us to leave (what resturant would throw customers out while they are still eating after getting his money?) I am not even done and we had to leave with our food in hand. There was no point arguing with this man who seemed like he was only concerned about the money and not quality service. I and my friend have decided NEVER (repeat NEVER EVER) going to visit again. I have never seen anything like this anywhere and my sincere hope that nobody ever gets treated this way.

I got great recommendations about the restaurant from friends and colleagues at work, so I decided to celebrate my wife’s birthday with my family with a dinner at the restaurant. I booked a table for my family the day before and mentioned that we are celebrating my wife’s birthday, so the person on the phone confirmed that a birthday cake will be served after the dinner. We went and were nicely welcomed and seated and we were served tasty food, exactly as we expected from all the recommendations, but unfortunately, we went back very disappointed from 2 things; the first was that there was no birthday cake as we requested, second, which was really disappointing is that after we paid the bill, and went out of the restaurant, the waiter stopped us on the street and said with a loud voice: hey, you know, the tips are not included in the bill and I think I gave you a good service and pushing the receipt on me! I was astonished and embarrassed in front of my family, but did not want to argue with the waiter or complain as I did not want to spoil a celebration of my wife’s birthday, so I put a small amount on the bill and went to the car …

I was impressed from the get-go. The wait staff was friendly and eager to help us and referred to me as "friend" which I thought was a small but warm gesture. They were quick to suggest some favorites and immediately brought us some warm lentil soup before we even ordered, which was nice considering it was a cold day. The food was fragrant and in more than generous portions, enough to give even a hearty eater like me a big lunch the next day. The only drawbacks I found were that the food could get rather briny tasting after a while. There needs to be a side dish or complement that is starchy or something to break it up. Also, they were pretty liberal with onions which for some might not be bad but it could get overwhelming to those around you if you go back to work afterwards. Despite that, the service was friendly and attentive more so than one would usually expect and then some. The food was generous and well worth the price. I would whole-heartedly recommend eating there.

The Mediterranean Kitchen has been a family favorite for years and thankfully my husband took to the bold flavors right away. Weve passed many evening meals in its warm and aromatic locale. Schooling has called us far away, but neither of us can wait to be back again and enjoy the fantastic cuisine Seattle has to offer, and Mediterranean Kitchen is top on our list! Fantastic Shawarma with amazing sauce. (Their lamb is great!) Heaping portions for lunch leftovers. Spinakopita has a buttery crispy filo crust, with a warm and rich spinach filling. Kabobs are a fantastic standard, too, just to name a few of my favorites. If you dont like garlic or have a hard time appreciating ethnic flavors, this isnt the place for you. But for those who seek an endorsement, there is a pregnant lady across the country that is clamoring to get back to the Mediterranean Kitchen. Appreciate and enjoy it while Im gone!

Id heard great things about this place and went hungry yesterday for lunch. The service was attentive, warm and friendly. The dipping sauce for the pita was fiery with so much garlic but addictive! The garlic flavor still lingers in my mouth a day later. I ordered the beef shawarma. Normally, I stick with lamb kebabs or gyro (no gyro on this menu) but since the hype here was so positive, I was eager to try something different. The large oval dish arrived piled too high for lunch and almost completely covered in barely cooked large chunks of white onion. The beef was abundant but super tough and chewy. The taste was equally disappointing. Had an almost lighter-fluid, chemical flavor - maybe it was from too much seasoning that made it off and muddy. I ate a little because I was so darn hungry, but thats the only reason. Unfortunately, I wont go back.

We were very disappointed with this restaurant. We had believed the reviews and so we made reservations for six (5 normal sized adults + 1 kid) for dinner. When we got there, at first we were ignored and then we were led to a small table ( 3ft x 2ft). We couldnt believe that they expected us to sit around this tiny table and also have dinner!! The "manager" showed up and he was rather arrogant. He claimed that he regularly seats 6 people in this limited space and nobody has complained in the last 10years. So, I did the honors and let him know politely that it wouldnt do. I dont think he cared about that. Fortunately, that area in Bellevue has plenty of restaurants to choose from where seating is comfortable and service exemplary. So, the six of us had a wonderful time far away from the claustrophobia of The Mediterranean Kitchen.

We arrived hungry on a Friday night at dinner hour. We were greeted immediately and got the last table. Within two minutes we were served warm pita, split pea soup and an onion dip. Our hunger was quelled by this generous opening. The service was great even though they were busy. My wife avoids gluten and dairy. We had no problem finding two dishes to share. We got the Farmers Plate (chicken wings) and lamb shish kebabs. The portions were enormous. We feasted and had enough for lunch the next day. The flavors were intense and interesting. Absolutely delicious! The prices were reasonable, especially considering the amount of food and the preparations. We would go back again.
