Brought a friend to Hitchcock Deli BI at lunch and quickly claimed a barstool at the front window. We ordered the corned beef and roast beef sandwiches, both were incredibly good. Sure, there is a wait, so be prepared. Chef Brandon makes much of the meats in-house and you can taste the difference remarkably. The bread is baked the same day, very fresh. The coffee is also outstanding. If youre lucky to get a guy named "Kale" to make your coffee, you may get some nice latte art. Aside from that, the baristas know how to pull a shot and can make a very authentic macchiato. TIP: Get it for here, in a small heated demitasse cup. If you are in a hurry, you may not have the time to fully enjoy the experience as it is a small deli and they cut, heat, slice and hand make every order with care an accuracy, similar to Salume in Seattle. It takes time. The long lines and busy deli should indicate to you that they move enough product to ensure that every sandwich is fresh. And it certainly has been the case each time Ive been there. Good food isnt cheap either. So, expect about $10-12 for an awesomely delicious meal and have a cup of water (free) and enjoy some of lifes good things as a treat for yourself.

I had high hopes for this place as my girlfriend and I were hungry and a quick deli sandwich would have been perfect. We waited in line for awhile to place an order as they had no one taking orders for ten minutes. Then we waited another ten minutes to pay since the guy working the register was also making coffee so he only rang someone up every few minutes or so. Since it was crowded we went to wait outside and chatted. After 25 minutes when our name still hadnt been called and we had to make our way back to the ferry landing soon I went to inquire as to our status. When I was informed that they werent even close to making our order I asked if they could make ours next since it had been a to go order from the beginning and now we really had to leave. I was told this was impossible and they would have to refund our money. As I final negative point they guy working the register couldnt figure out how to refund my card and we had to wait until someone from the back was free to assist. Bottom line no sandwiches and we missed the ferry back. Anywhere that claims to be a deli should at least warn you when you place a to go order that it is going to be over a 40 minute wait. Frustrating and ridiculous.

As we walked in, it was BUSY. We decided to go for it. As we arrived at the ordering station, a woman walked up complaining about her pastrami sandwich being to "fatty". I thought, this is a house of charcuterie, expect fat, thats part of the flavor. The hostess explained what pastrami was (politely), then offered a refund. The customer was rude. The hostess brushed it off and was fantastic help for us. We had the club and pâté sandwiches. DELICIOUS, on both accounts. The staff was as top notch as the charcuterie and breads. I will surely visit again!

We found this place while exploring the island one afternoon. The food here is fastastic. They have a small town feel in the deli and offer some delicious sandwiches. I tried the BLT and it was probably one of the best BLTs Ive ever had. It was very flavorful and satisfying. I would highly recommend this place. Though, a word of caution, its right next to Hitchcock restaurant. They share the same name but are different businesses. The deli is smaller and to the right of the restaurant.

Snooty hipsters looking down their pierced, tattooed noses at you, charging $8 for a tiny filthy glass of cheap red rotgut wine (in a non-wine glass - sheesh!) you could get at RiteAid for $8 a bottle. If you know Southern California at all, youll understand why Ive dubbed this island Santa Bainbridge. P.S. The music was loud, obnoxious and your service was tone deaf given that woman in flag hijab poster in your window. Cant even treat a local with respect! Huh!

I stop by this sandwich shop every time visit Bainbridge. Their sandwiches are always incredible. This deli has larger volume than they typically can handle on any weekend. Seating can be a challenge to secure and thats only worsened by a slow pace that sandwiches are turned out. The sandwiches are totally worth the wait. I recommend resetting expectations that this isnt a national chain sub shop and you can settle into the relaxed Bainbridge vibe.

My hubby picked the Pastrami sandwich for us to share, but I was the one to suggest that he ask for it to be piled high. That was definitely a solid idea! The meat was super tender and moist, the raw sauerkraut was crispy with nice flavor (without being overwhelming). Their dressing topped it off nicely! The service was friendly and quite fast. The place was clean and they had all of their beautiful meats on display!

Delicious sandwiches. The casual counterpart to the restaurant next door, which is one of my favorite restaurants in the greater Seattle area. Be aware that opening hours change with seasons. They close at 6pm during the winter months, and during spring (May I believe) closing time moves to 7pm. Google doesnt always reflect this correctly.

Good sandwiches and decent pricing. Its a small place but you can get your sandwich to go and find plenty of outdoor spots to sit. It can take a bit to get your sandwich if its busy but you can tell theyre working as fast as possible since you can see the guy making the sandwiches. Its a good lunch spot that also has some beer and wine.

I didnt dine at the restaurant but at the deli next door. We had the meatloaf sandwich and the pulled pork and it is worth a trip to Bainbridge just for this alone. We sampled some of the other meats too...theyre excellent. Homemade pickled items, coleslaw, macaroons are fantastic. I wish this place was down the street from me.

Club sandwich is probably the best sandwich I have ever had, but service is not good. Tried ordering online multiple times and it didnt work. Tried calling in an order and the phone doesnt work. So slow to wait on a sandwich. I wish they would get it together so I can get a sandwich in a timely manner.

Very small, and crowded. Take your sandwich to go. Very nice staff however. I bit on the expensive side. It took a while to get the food as well, the staff were working on a big order it seems. The food though. Oh. The OG roast beef was amazing. Get it. The food took it to 4 stars.

This review is for the deli. I had a roast beef sandwich with Italian white bean soup with sausage. The sandwich was merely ok, and the soup was severely lacking in sausage. Combined, they cost $18.50. I realize this is a tourist island, but I imagine there are better options.

Ok- we came the day after Christmas. We were hungry and tired; I had the pastrami sandwich and it was amazing! Melt in your mouth delicious! Now I wont be able to a eat another pastrami sandwich anywhere until I return to Hitchocks! Thanks.
