So many things that could have made this night better, but The Rock just failed. It was Sunday night, maybe 10 tables filled. I counted 3 servers, plus the hostess and bartender. Still, they were slow taking orders, serving food, etc. It was our Friday, so a celebration of the end of the work week for us. The wifey ordered "vodka with a splash of cranberry juice" because she does not eat sugar, and everything tastes sweet to her if there is any sugar. She got a glass of cranberry juice with a whisper of vodka hiding somewhere around the glass. I had to take the drink to the bar and have it remade. The bartender told me that the server asked for a "cranberry and vodka." Strike one. I ordered their brand of dark beer. Cant recall the name. Its described as a malty, balanced beer with chocolate notes. It was sour. Im not sure if the keg turned bad, but Ive had my share of dark, chocolaty brews, and this was horrible. So, we ordered wings as an appetizer, wifey got a personal sized pizza, I got a 12 inch pizza. 2 different sizes. We waited at least 20 minutes for the wings. They were good, but given the amount of patrons, it should not have taken nearly as long. When we got the pizzas, they were the same size. I asked the server what size they were, she said personal sized. Remember I ordered the bigger size, but got a personal instead. Strike 2. The wifey order a margarita to finish off the night, ordered it "not sweet, please." She got the sweetest margarita Ive ever tasted. Either their bartender has no clue how to make a drink, or they are not allowed to deviate whatsoever from the recipes. Either way, it was a complete waste of $11. Now, I do enjoy their pizzas. However, with their slow service, their inability to make a decent drink, and their sour, bad version of beer, they really have no business doing anything other than takeout, which is what I will do if I want their pizza. We should have gone to Hop Jacks, which is 30 seconds away, and who has Happy Hour every day. This is what we will do to celebrate the end of the work week from now on. Sorry Rock, you failed miserably.

They seem to really struggle with their new rewards program through Five stars. They rarely credit you the points that youre supposed to get for a visit. My family and I went to this location on 04/02/2016. They credited me zero points on a $52 order. I called in at 1:15PM on 04/03/2016 to try to get the points credited. I was told that a manager named Greg would call me back as they were busy with the lunch rush. Greg never called me. I called again at 7PM. I was told that they needed to put me on hold and would go get Greg. At 7:30, I went from being on hold to being hung up on. So I immediately called back. This time I got ahold of Greg. His tone made it clear that I was taking up his time. I didnt get to tell him of the issue before he set me off. At this point I was beyond pissed, so I left a message with their corporate office and edited my prior 5-star review. Depending on the resolution from their corporate office, I may be leaving a credit card charge back instead. What I originally considered to be a very minor and easily correctable mistake warped into a bigger ordeal than it ever needed to be all because of the sheer incompetence and poor customer service skills of one person.

I was hesitant to try this place after all of the bad experiences mentioned in these reviews, and as it turns out, that concern was warranted. The staff is unprofessional starting with how you are greeted at the door and how they just meander around without even acknowledging customers. Our server had kind of a hurry up demeanor about her, too bad her work ethic didnt involve much hurrying in spite of a pretty slow night. Waters remained empty for most of our appetizer and meal. We got deep dish which was like 6 slices of nothing special thick crust pizza with very (as in black) burnt edges for over $20. My kids barely touched their pizza, and myself being a pizza lover only had 1 piece. The meal sucked, service sucked, price seemed ridiculous on the deep dish offering at least. The one redeeming factor was that their cheesy garlic bread was pretty good. I wont be coming back.

Good happy hour deals, pizza is actually pretty good and reasonably priced. I was hesitant to try because of the one star reviews below, but then saw they are the same person reviewing restaurants and all of them are one star, racist-harboring places. I had originally rated four stars but my past THREE visits I have received terrible service. Im not even picky, I just dont want to have an empty beer, for twenty minutes, without seeing my waitress happen TWICE in the same visit. The manager picked up my glass, but did not offer another one. Now I see why the service is poor, the same manager was talking to three females at a table next to mine and said "Guys" at least five times. Just atrocious service and mannerisms, and their best bartender quit recently.

My wife went to The Rock yesterday to purchase 3 pizzas for a family gathering we were having at our home. Wen she left your store carrying the 3 pizzas the gentleman or lack thereof, did not even have the common courtesy to open the door for her. To add insult to injury she left a $13 tip! We have patronized The Rock on perhaps a dozen other occasions and with mixed results from horrible lunch buffet to outstanding dinners. Would strongly suggest that you have your entire staff walk down the street to Hopjacks and learn what good customer service is all about. Bottom line is that you have lost a customer not as a result of food quality but strictly because of the insensitive and totally apathetic guy at the entrance.

I am stunned and disappointed about the nonexistant customer service at Lakeland Hills Lake Tapps Rock. I called to order pizza for dinner and was told that they were busy and would not be taking any pizza orders. I have never heard of a restaurant responding in such a way. Then to make things even worse, my husband and some of his fellow police officers called hours later and they were told the same thing. I have eaten in and placed to go orders a number of times, and the customer service has been lacking more than it has been good. It is a shame that our local Rock Pizza has become such a problem.

We made reservations for my daughters birthday. When we got there (on time) they had given it away. We were offered two boothes in the bar that were back to back for our party of 8. The manager, Jenny, was not concerned at not honoring the reservation at all. We ended up having to go to the Mexican restaurant next door. My daughter hates Mexican but we had family in from out of town and they were not happy to search around for another place outside of Lakeland. I would be VERY hesistant to ever have confidence in reservations for a special occasion again.
