Pros: Good sushi, great variety, very nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. Great ice cream bar (new) and the variety of sushi has greatly improved. Cons: Not very customer oriented... COLD (and always) inside which doesnt sound like a big deal but TRUST me when I say, it it so cold it ruins your meal. My husband is always warm and was still cold with his winter skiing jacket on. Everyone is wearing their jackets and even hats and earmuffs. Due to the size of the restaurant, they need to try to keep it at 85 degrees so it actually is 72 in the eating area (rather than what management said, 78). I wrote an email last summer to management with the same complaint. The waitresses tend to rush you through your meal by providing you the check while you are on your second helping. This is seems to be a custom typical of most Asian buffet but only translates as rude to most American customers. Also although they dont close until 10pm, at 8 pm, they were wiping down seats and chairs (with the same wet dirty rag with no solution), asking for your soy sauces, and literally making you feel unwelcomed. We made a comment while eating that we werent ready for our check and the waitress was accomodating. Overall impression: If the restaurant was more customer oriented and fixed the tempurature to be constantly pleasant (not for the workers but the customers) and didnt rush you out, we would frequent this place A LOT more. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Unique experience.

Surprised at the name. I thought Byuffe was a typo, but I guess it makes them standout. My family and I decided to try this place out since most of us are huge fans of sushi. This place was not that bad. You do get about 2 rows of hot food. The typical Chinese buffet dishes such as fried rice, lo mein, dumplings, General Tsos, crab rangoons then sushi. You get a lot of rolls with fruit, tuna, salmon, fried imitation crab meat, nigiri and sashimi. I really enjoyed the tuna, salmon, and eel nigiri. I didnt try the Pho, but a couple families sitting next to us kept getting refills. Overall the quality was OK. Nothing that will get your super excited over. I was just worried about the coloration of some of the food. IE the avocado, octopus, seaweed salad. I was to scared to try these dishes and you may want to avoid them as well if you notice it a bit dark. Im giving this place a high rating because everyone in my party enjoyed our meal. The waitresses were great. Our dining area had a lot of people and yet the waitresses gave us great service. The sushi chefs were awesome. We kept requesting more of particular rolls and nigiri and they accommodated each request. Value wise for $17 you cant beat this buffet any where in this area. Yeah some of the food maybe old, but other then that everything else was delicious. Good enough that some of my family members decided to return in the same week.

Just abysmal! Ive written a lot of reviews on restaurants through Google, this is the worst restaurant Ive been to. Im a sushi lover and I know what true Japanese sushi tastes like, I knew the sushi wouldnt be anywhere near that quality given this is a buffet but this was poor. Now if you dont like or appreciate high-end sushi this place is probably a good value as you get to try different things. I stuck to the nigiri as you can really tell from that how much they care about their quality. Just terrible, the dish was oxidized bc it was left out for so long and had dried and become firm. The rice was cold and had no flavor, as traditional rice is served body temperature and seasoned. I wanted to try the oysters on the half shell but honestly this is the first time in my life that I actually thought I might get sick from the restaurant. Just a really bad experience and for people saying this is the best sushi theyve ever had, well they are idiots and have no idea what real sushi is and I feel bad for them. The rest of the food on the buffet looked like a typical Chinese buffet. I do not belive that Yahoo said they were the best buffet in va beach, if they did the person the reviewed them had no tongue and should be fired.

This is no Vegas buffet but Yukai is one of the best all you can eat Asian buffets Ive ever been to! There were so many options to choose from. Crawfish, flounder, salmon, clams - all for me at the Chinese section! Red Snapper, salmon, tuna sashimi + dozen of specialty rolls and sushi continuously replenished - i must had eaten 3 normal orders of dragon rolls alone. They even offer made to order hibachi and LEGIT PHO - my husband was overjoyed. The cherry on top? the frozen yogurts - 4 flavors to choose form (or have all) - espresso, birthday cake, strawberry, vanilla + toppings. Yukai, you are just too much for my stomach not to love. Did I mention that they offer rotating coupons on their website (definitely check it out!) and 15% off for healthcare professionals (get your badge ready!)? With discount, my dinner was only $13 + tax and tip - all that awesome quality, tasty food for that price? unheard of! Service - plates were taken away immediately, our server was extremely friendly and warm - she even stopped by to chat + get to know us. Honestly, the saddest part about dining at Yukai is knowing that it is in Virginia beach. Save your stomach and your wallet- come to Yukai now!

I have heard many great things about this restaurant. Ive visited today for lunch and was very pleased by the atmosphere. I tried several cold salads they had to offer however some of the food had a "peculiar "taste. The cube raw tuna had eight Ill Texter similar to rotting watermelon. Very offputting smell. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she did not understand what my complaint was. I then had the manager demanding that I pay for the food since I chose to eat some even though I did not complete one quarter of my first plate. I then noticed the chef was cooking food ENTIRELY with a propane torch! And explain the heavy fuel and chemical taste that my food had. I took the mantra to the side and asked her very politely and quietly to please reconsider the situation and she escalated the situation unnecessarily. I told her that I absolutely would not stand for it nor would I return. Sadly, already feeling sick before Im even leaving the restaurant. . I Will take my business elsewhere.

I usually go to Sushi King to get my Sushi fix, but luckily found this Gem. For a Buffet the sushi is pretty decent and the other food is top notch belt buckling good. Honestly believe I found my new spot for a cheap Sushi Fix. A little far from Deep Creek to travel but its really good. And the price is even better. Much cheaper then Sushi King and just as good if not better. There roast duck was on point, Raw oysters, Crab, Sushi, Hibatchi, Oriental Soups really not much more you need. Worth a visit and 2 thumbs up. The wait staff was very nice and professional and the restaurant it self is very vert nice and clean. I really enjoyed my dining experience here.
