This pub was a mainstay in the Pike Creek Valley for about 27 years now and remains for Pike Creek what The Prancing Pony was for the village of Bree in Middle Earth or what Rosies Pub was in the Shire or on M*A*S*H. The interior is fabulous, replete with wood-paneling and huge TVs on every wall and brass railings and foot-rests in classic Irish pub fashion. The food is excellent pub fare indeed and this lively establishment features an outdoor seating area that is beyond compare: facing the almost entirely undeveloped expanse of the Middle Run section of White Clay Creek State Park facing West for the most gorgeous sunsets seen anywhere in the Diamond State. This pub is especially pleasant and infinitely agreeable in the summer days when all of New Castle County empties itself out like a filled bowel into the beach areas; then McGlynns rules. Its so quiet and peaceful then and pretty much is the first place on earth I would take a drink.

Came in and sat down, waited for a while, man came cleaned up glasses & washed them in front of me, hostess and a waitress chatting only a few feet away without acknowledgement. And still no contact? Decided to go get a six pack and call for a pizza, large 3 topping pizza & 6 pack of bottled Black & tan for $15 This is 2nd time in a row, poor (today was non existent) customer service, better do some training and management or youll be out of business. Too bad, Id rather support local place versus a corporate, but i sitting at home with 4 extra ice cold beers and spent less!

Good food, service could have been slightly better. We had a large group seated at a bar table. It would have been nice if they had provided a server for our table. In addition I was charged for many items I did not order, but that some people in the group, who had already left at that point, had ordered. As we had to go to the bar to order or own food, I had assumed this would not be a problem.

My family came to dine on sat the 30th of April. Sad to say the food was mediocre at best, prices way too high, service was average at best and we got to enjoy a vulgar customer at your bar and the bar tender did nothing to correct the customer. The burger was just a frozen patty and the raviolis were like rubber. Never again !!!!!!!!!!!! Better off going to ------ any other place !

This place is getting worst and worst. Service is way to slow all you can eat shrimp is cold and not cooked all they way. Its shame a place like this has gone down hill so fast. When it first open it was the place to be and been seen. I wouldnt want to be caught dead in there now. One in Glasgow isnt much better.

Wednesday wing night is a must. The staff is always pleasant and attentive and the beer list is among my favorites locally. Always a fun place to hang out, have a few beers and enjoy some good food.

Another nearby place my wife and i enjoy going to. The pub is a bit dated but the bar is a good size and the food is pretty good, they have nightly specials, i love half price burger night.
