Me and my fiance` went here and it was the worst restaurant experience of my life. The place was practically empty so you would think the service would be speedy, but snails going in slow motion could have served us faster. We waited for 15 minutes just to place a drink order and the waitress asks if we want bread. We take the bread and its still frozen in the middle. We asked for new bread and showed her it was frozen, she takes it back and comes back a few minutes later with more bread... still frozen. I show her again its still frozen, when she takes it back we hear the kitchen staff loudly and angrily ask "WHATS WRONG WITH IT NOW!?" and she loudly says "theyre just complaining about every little thing!" After another less frozen loaf of bread comes out we just gave up on it and waited for our food. Had we not already placed an order we would have walked at this point. 30 minutes go by and we finally get our food which is very undercooked pasta in a disgusting sauce that tasted like pure grease. When our food comes out a friend of the staff comes in with his pet golden retriever, unleashed, running around the place sniffing tables and trying to get our food. At this point we had enough and walked out. TL;DR: Terrible service, terrible food, terrible hygiene, just plain terrible. DO NOT DINE HERE!

The place itself was good with a nice outdoor setting. The problem is that it is owned by some one who likes to be extremely rude to his customers. We were at this place late and having a good time with friends. We stayed really close (2 min walk) and so ordered Pizza because the kitchen at Baja had closed. Our intention was to collect the Pizza outside the establishment and walk to where we lived and eat the Pizza at our trailer site. Right when I was collecting the Pizza the owner walked in with a loud intimidating tone and basically asking me to get out because outside food wasnt allowed inside. He didnt give me a chance to explain that we werent going to eat it in his establishment anyway. Its ok for a place to not allow outside food - but theres a way you talk to customers - he could have politely said "Sir - we dont allow outside food" and I would have been totally fine with the whole thing. I have no way to prove this but I couldnt help but think that color of skin had to do something with how he behaved with me/us - I certainly hope I am wrong. I will not visit this place again just out of principle. Pretty poor way to talk to your customers.

Unfortunately one star is the lowest rating available. Crab cakes tasted like cardboard, fries were cold, green beans were cold, coconut pecan shrimp were lacking in flavor and were obviously frozen. Calamari was chewy and had very little flavor. For a place that has "fresh seafood" on its sign, it was very far from fresh. I was raised on fresh seafood, the difference is obvious. Even the wine was cheap and unappealing. Very disappointed, especially for $75 for two people. Update.....Jimmy, the owner, has offered to refund my money for my meal. Although I had a bad experience, I have to commend an owner that reads the reviews and wants to make things right and make improvements where needed. Ive got to give him 5 stars for that. Thanks Jimmy, not interested in the refund it was my choice to go there and not looking for anything for free. Ill try it again when Im back that way and give you another chance.

We planned to take out from Baja as we had a brochure in our condo advertising "Dine in or Take Out" the menu looked appealing so we called to place our order and I was told "oh we dont do take out" I said well it says it on the brochure and on your website that you do and the girl said "oh our website isnt up to date". I then asked to speak to a manager. The owner named Jimmy took the call and explained that he cant do takeout during the "season" (why is their advertisement printed in our beach condo guide then?) Jimmy didnt seem to care that I explained his marketing material was innacurate. If he would have apologized or had anything to say I might have given them another chance but he clearly doesnt care and is not going to attempt to change this issue. This will continue to happen and they will continue to lose customers. Do not waste your time, plenty of other restaurants in town.

Best choice we made for our wedding! The Baja Restaurant not only catered our reception, but also was the perfect location for our ceremony. Food is amazing, view is amazing, and the value cannot be beat. Jimmy was beyond flexible and helpful with a possibly impending hurricane and constant rain. The most important thing that Jimmy provided was the confidence that no matter what wed have a great wedding! The location is picturesque with amazing views of the bay; not only were our guests impressed, but our photographer and videographer both commented with how easy it made their jobs. Our reception went great in a nearby beach house with Jimmy leading his team to provide delicious food and even packing the leftovers for our guests to continue to enjoy the following day! We could not have asked for more; Jimmy continually surpassed our expectations for service, quality, and value!

Not sure how this place got any lower than a 5 star review but my fiancé and I along with his parents came here for lunch and had a fantastic experience. Starting with 5 star service from Carson. She was a delight. We started with a round of $3 Classic bloddys which were phenomenal! Just the perfect amount of everything. I got the crab cake blt which was fantastic along with a side of sauté green beans 100% fresh (and Im from MD so a bit of a crab cake snob so that says a lot) my fiancé and his dad got the po boy shrimp sandwich and mom got the fish quesadilla.. Long story short its a must try and dont let the bad reviews full you. We have nothing but great things to say about this hidden gem :)

We wanted to like it. Surfer boy server was really nice. The drinks and food not so much. Margaritas didnt seem to have any alcohol in them. Big glasses of lemonade. She crab soup was tasty but full of shell pieces. Entrees a disaster. Seafood au gratin was some linguini with Bay scallops, crab (with shell pieces again) and Indonesian shrimp (we asked). The "chef" decided it was a good idea to smother it all in cheddar and Colby cheese. Who does that? What happened to a little clam juice, white wine and parmesan cheese. Final bill= $86.03. Seems to be a local favorite. Maybe its because there are no other restaurants anywhere in the area.

Exactly what you expect in a beach community focused on family fun. Baja is a low-key, laid-back restaurant/bar situated right on the back bay waterfront. They host different activities daily (e.g. Family Dodgeball, Karaoke) with corn hole, ladder ball and giant Jenga out in the lawn. Staff are extremely friendly, the menu items (albeit limited) are good and so are the drinks. On our two visits, we kept to the outside areas - we understand the inside restaurant has more options. We were looking for a place to hang out, get the kids a place theyd enjoy and share some food & drinks - this was exactly the place for us!
