Dont eat here! We have eaten at Athens Pizza a number of times in the past, and thought the food was ok. Its very close to our house, so its convenient. Tonight, we went in and ordered drinks, a salad, and a pizza. The drinks and salad arrived in a timely manner, and then we waited for our pizza. We watched as people who came in after us got served. The waitress assured us that our order was in, and told us she had no idea why it was taking so long. Finally, after about 40 minutes, we saw another table (who came in about 15 minutes after us) get served, so we gave up and went up to the counter to pay for the drinks and salad. The pizza had just come out of the oven. The man who had made the pizza (possibly the owner?) was unbelievably rude. He began yelling, "We are very busy! We have to fill the orders as they come in!" He didnt seem to comprehend that we had been there longer than anyone seated around us. We finally decided to take the pizza home. All the way home, I wondered, "why did we pay for this pizza?" I think we were so flustered (and hungry) that we just paid, took the pizza, and left. I still cant believe the unmitigated nerve and disrespect of the individual who yelled at us, and the fact that they didnt offer to comp the pizza. I will never set food in Athens Pizza again, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to avoid this place. There are far too many great pizza restaurants in this area... and they know how to treat their customers!

I think the pizza and salads are really good. Truly the only thing that I am really disappointed in is that they used to give military discounts and now they dont anymore...moreover they only used to give discounts on Wednesdays and now they dont even do that...We ordered from there about 2 weeks ago and they made us the wrong pizza. We called back and the person who answered the phone actually accused my husband about possibly lying in order to get another pizza. To prove a point my husband drove all the way back and brought the pizza with him in order to show these people that we werent trying to get a free pizza...That was quite rude and after that experience I do not think we will be going back...The prices really are not that great either...Ive definately had better service at Papa Johns which is pretty sad...

I was nervous coming in at 8:10pm, when the place closes at 9pm. Im usually not that person, because I feel bad. But my friend insistent. We sat down and quickly ordered, and the waitress was beyond friendly and told us not to rush. We ordered a pizza, and saw that they were doing there closing cleaning. So I just asked for our pizza to go, due to feeling guilty and not wanting to be that person. The waitress insured us that we are fine and should stay to eat. Once we got our food, the pizza was amazing and they loaded up on the toppings. I was skeptical getting pizza from a Greek restaurant, but Id recommend it 100%! Its was beyond delicious and the perfect crunch!

Have some awesome gyros!! You can get as a meal or just the gyro itself. Always warm, soft shell (pita role?) 1 will definitely get your belly full. They should include feta as a complimentary addition, but charge $1.00 for a cup of it. Regardless, food in general here is good, wait staff friendly and knowlegeable. Over-all, great place to stop!! I will add that the interior is a little dated, could use a facelift...but, I dont go here for the ambiance so no harm done ;)

Ive been going to Athens for about 14 years now. The service and good food is excellent. I really havent branched out much on the menu. Im one of those annoying predictable order the same thing nearly every time eaters. I love their chicken gyro sandwich with provolone, and the salad with feta is awesome. My kids loves the pizza, and I think its good too. Im just hard pressed to give up a chance for a gyro when we go there.

Food was alright, portions are very small for price, and staff is rude and dismissive. I tried to make conversation with the old woman at the counter as i paid for my meal about how my father used to take us to this restaurant after church when we were kids, but she couldnt care less and didnt even look at my face at all. Took my money and said goodbye. Thats the last time i come back here.

My girlfriend and I got pizza and lasagna. Both were delicious but not spectacular. Its what youd expect from an older restaurant like this one. However, it does give off a very homey vibe. Our waitress was warm and friendly and recommended a few good items on the menu. I will definitely be coming back.

We were expecting a hefty bill at the end - based on the service - and not knowing what the specialty dessert would cost. True to classy form, the meal was very reasonably priced for the value. And the dessert was on par with what it was for the cost.

bad service, steakems for meat, and a seven dollar salad using week old lettuce and a little cheese. grape leaves were soggy and greasy. just an all around bad meal that ran $40 before tip for two adults drinking water and a kid.

Between Connecticut, Florida and now here in Chesapeake, its the best pizza and salads that Ive had in years of trying, the only exception is a little mom and bob Greek restaurant in Vermont that is almost as good as Athens.

We have been eating here for years and the food is always good. We often dine in and the servers are friendly and quick. We also pick up several pizzas for card night and all of our friends enjoy the pizza.

Good pizza and great service. My only gripe ...pineapple on our ham & pineapple pizza was obviously from a can. We were there for a birthday celebration and despite our large group, service was quick.

When your sign says best gyros in town and you serve steak-ums on your stale pita, you know something is wrong. Very disappointing, also, the picture of the salad was not at all what I was served.

They have an AMAZING tasting greek dressing that is made in house! I cant get enough of the stuff. My husband and I probably drain the entire container when we eat there. Great Gyros too!

I paid $15 dollars for a grilled chicken Greek salad and I got a few little pieces of chicken. It looked like crumbs. I will not be going back.
