This place was AWESOME a year ago. They had two girls that were servers. One day they vanished and the food “slightly” changed. We decided after going 3 times a week and throwing down 40% tips, that it was time to leave. Recently we reviewed it on Google. Said there was a male server and he was listed as impatient. We checked it out anyway. This server was so bad I left without my food. First time I been there in years I seen service this bad. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN. My goal is always to support Suffolk, but there was already a review on this guy and it is no joke. He is impatient, and a horrible server. I will not ever try to explain this guy, as I walked out for the first time “dissatisfied” in years! Try it and make your own decision. But as for me, ill look in there at some point and if he is there, I will go next door. He has no business there at all. If you are the owner, you need to fix it before it’s to late for your rep. THE BEST in and around downtown Suffolk now. Always has people in the restaurant eating, and they do a fantastic job of take-out orders (and they are REALLY fast with them). Sometimes I think they prioritize take out over in-house patrons, but either way, its ALWAYS delicious. Staff is always incredibly nice, and the sushi is really, really good. You cant go wrong if youre looking for a local spot and arent sure if its good or not... it is! Go for it!

I started going to Iron Chef a few years ago, and it was an awesome experience. The waitress (she had eyeglasses on) was very nice and she made sure that your experience is pleasant. The food was very good, and it seemed like the food gave you energy. You didnt feel tired and bloated after you eat but energized. Last time I went, the waitress wasnt there, and the service was bad. Good food, but I wish there are more waiters and waitresses that are diligent.

If you love sushi, but never have time or money for sushi during the week, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. They have sushi specials (sometimes 2 rolls, your choice, for $7, 3 rols for $10) --"What a bargain!" And the food is quite good. Unfortunately the first reviewer had a bad experience or was not familiar with whatever they ordered...since some Japanese food is deep-fried and therefore a little greasy....A must try!

Exceptional Service and Sushi. Food came out and the presentation was spot on. Fish was fresh, the ginger dressing salad was plentiful and everything tasted amazing. Check came with a plate of succulent, juicy pineapple bites, what a great finish to a tasty dish. If you are staying at the hotel next door or looking for killer sushi and an experience to match this must be on your destination list.

I have just discovered this restaurant, and I am so happy I did! I have been here three times in two weeks because I am craving it so much. I absolutely love the sushi here! Awesome. :) My favorite is the Ichiban Roll, and I also love the Pink Lady Roll. They even have a mini tatami room - perfect for a romantic date night. I highly recommend Iron Chef.

This is my favorite sushi place in all of Hampton roads. They have a great lunch special, its never busy, the sushi is AMAZING, and the serve the food in a timely manner. They arent the cheapest but the food is well worth it. I have tried about 7 other sushi places and this is still my favorite.

My family and I love this place we have been going for 2 years. We will never go to another place today we had the love boat for 2, shes not big on plain raw fish but loved every piece she tried. Fish quality is excellent. I cant stop with how happy I am with Iron Chef! !!!!!

While I will agree that the price is good, I am a devout sushi eater, and the sushi i received from the Iron Chef was bland, lacking the flavor of fresh, raw, seafood. The sushi tasted as if it were previously frozen and thawed. I will not be going back.

The sushi and goyza at Iron Chef was delicious! Also, my friend ordered the chicken and vegetable tempera. She said it was amazing! Not sure why the other reviewer had such a bad experience; however, I LOVED it and plan on going back in the NEAR future!

We probably eat here once a week or once every other week. Theyre a great place and the food is amazing. We love the atmosphere because its so small and inviting. We spend about $30 and that includes two dinners and an appetizer.

I went here with a group of coworkers and the service was great. Everyone enjoyed their food. I went back for their 3 roll for $10 lunch special. My boyfriend really enjoyed the combination hibachi. Great atmosphere, too!

Food is great and price is awesome. Would give 5 stars but the new young man that servers there rushes you for your order only to forget part of it and then runs you out door. The female server is amazing though.

This place is delicious fresh Japanese food! The teriyaki chicken is always piping hot and served over a delicious bed of veggies. My husband and I have been here several times, and it never lets us down!

Eat your own risk as it says on the menu. My date and I were sick for 2-3 days and they explained that there is a disclosure actually on the menu which suggests that it has happened a couple of times.
