Firstly, their fish is not fresh most of the times. My boyfriend ordered sashimi, and there were bruises on the flesh (yes, fish flesh can get bruised) and they were so dry that the sashimi pieces were cracking. Heres even worse part. The restaurant put some oil on the fish to look fresh (and I call it a scam). He stopped eating only in half way, and afterwards he suffered from diarrhea at home. Secondly, I used to get their Dragon Eel Roll or Eel Lover Roll. As time goes, I can see the amount of eel in the roll is getting tinier and tinier. So one night, I opened up one of my rolls, and I saw the eel was about my thumb nail size (and I have a pretty small hand). Oh, its absolutely over-priced. I would NEVER go there again. Especially if you are asian grown up with lots of fish dishes, you will know what I mean once you visit there.

I stayed at the Ramada Inn kitty-corner from Sakura and was very excited when I saw it. After reading a few reviews and checking out the menu list on-line I was a little hesitant to try it. I ordered the Taku-Su(octupus) it was was nicely plated and very fresh tasting. I then ordered the Rainbow roll. It was good and worth the 11$ it cost. The wusabi is STRONG but very very delicious and the pickled ginger(homemade?) was even better. I then ordered the Spicy tuna crunchy hand roll. That was so-so but still good. The wait staff were very polite and attentative. The bill wasnt as bad as I had thought and I left full. The candy they give you with the bill was AWESOME(if anyone knows where to get them let me know!)

This place doesnt even deserve any form of a star. It is a disgrace to those who make and eat sushi. It is a disgrace to the fish they kill to make this sushi. They could have such a better death in other sushi places that are 100000000 times better than Sakura. They messed up my order, and came two and a half hours later with the correct order. Not only that, but they preceded to give me 10 percent off. I SHOULDVE RECEIVED A DAMN REFUND. Sakura has ruined sushi in State College. Thanks, and i hope no one ever eats from this place again.

Underwhelming. Expected a lot more for the price- we ordered take-out. The bill was about $50.00 for two orders of specialty sushi (8 pieces each) an order of chicken fried rice, spring rolls and fried tofu. The price is about what you would have expected if it had actually been GOOD. My main complaint was that I ordered what I always order at sushi restaurants, the "Spicy Girl Roll" and it wasnt spicy, in fact it was completely bland. Yeah, I dont care what anyone says. Fuji Jade is the best in State College in my book.

Food was good, maybe slightly overpriced. Service was absolutely horrendous. Two wrong orders out of four, waitress lied and said the order was right, took half an hour after clearing plates to get our check, we asked for it split, they came back ten minutes later with the un-split check again. Water was refilled once. Watched multiple groups come, eat, and leave as we waited for food and the check. Cozy Thai and Wegmans in-store sushi are much better options for curry/sushi, and not overpriced.

Food was OK - nothing special. Service sucked big time. Five of us for dinner and when the check came we gave $1 shy of 18% (and we thought that was a gift as it was). Waitress complained, stating that they expected a minimum of 18%. Not to mention how rude it was to question the customer, when we received our statement, they added the extra $1 w/o any consent. Talk about unscrupolous! I never write reviews, but this had to be told.

I do not understand what other people have been complaining about at this restaurant. I have gone numerous times and not only are the waiters friendly, patient and helpful but the food is phenomenal and comes at an exceptional level of speed with wonderful plating and aesthetics. The overall experience is wonderful and so far they the best Sushi restaurant I have found between Williamsport and State College.

If you get your food delivered dont expect the driver to be very nice. When we handed the driver the money he looked back rudely and acted like he deserved more money. It was very awkward (ive never had someone assert they need a bigger tip in my life), and i didnt know what to do so I gave him more. I feel very disrespected because of the entitled, rude driver.

Dont ever eat here. There service is just horrible, their servers cant even speak english at all. Their food isnt great and also I gave them a tip which is lower than 15% but they came out after me and gave me the amount of money that I gave them for a tip. Now I can understand why they dont have many people around that restaurants.

My gf and I got food poisoning from their vegetable sushi. (I would definitely not try the fish.) We were bedridden for a few days. After I was feeling halfway decent, I went down there to tell them and ask for my money back. They refused and showed absolutely no concern about their food possibly being unclean.

My wife and I go here ~every other week. I dont get what people are talking about saying their (not there people) food is bad. Its great! I ALWAYS get sashimi (Saba) when I go. If theres a better sushi place in State college, I have yet to find it.

By far the best sushi in State College. I am a HUGE fan of Sushi, and have had sushi everywhere from NYC, to Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Memphis - and I still say that Sakura tops them all.

I LOVE sushi. The waitress was kind but kind of as airhead though. The food was alright, I felt kind of sick after it and I normally do not after sushi. I am scared to eat there again.

Absolutely terrible service. Took over an hour after we ordered to get our food. And they include gratuity so you cant even penalize them for their horrendous service.

I experienced poorly cleaned plate, sub average English, and unwelcoming server. Food was average, prices higher, and tip forced. Can not recommend.

Have been there many times. It is a great Asian restaurant with a good sushi selection and hibachi that is cooked in the kitchen, not at your table.

They have the best sushi in State College. I usually order hibachi and they regularly change their sauce which I dont really like about this place.

Best quality sushi in State College. Service is also friendly though a bit slow at times. If you love sushi head to Sakura.

Pretty good sashimi, reasonably priced. Some of the other stuff is a little suspect. Do not get the "Sexy Jalapeño"!

I love this place. And unlike some other reviewers, I will tell you: do get the sexy jalapeño!
