My daughter and I used to go here once a week for lunch. I had family in town and we took them there for dinner, because I had raved to them how good it was. The owner himself waited on us. One of my family members ordered a dish that was spicy and wound up asking for 2 refills of his soda. He did not ask rudely or constantly, but in a normal and polite manner. The waiter/owner slammed the second refill down and spilled quite a bit of it on the table and stomped away. He then ignored us the entire rest of the time- he never removed our empty plates, topped off out beverages, or asked if our food was OK. He stood off to the side and scowled at us and pointedly ignored our attempts to get his attention because one of my family members never even got her meal (which was on the bill though, that he slapped onto the table as the ran by). The food that day was not good; it was cold and greasy. Maybe the meal we never received was good, well never know. I was very VERY embarrassed by the quality of the service and of the food. The owners wife did take the meal we never got off of the bill and she was very nice.

im not going to bother explaining the poor service to much. it was basically a old lady telling everyone to sit down and wait, then lectured me on calling ahead and i wouldnt have to wait so long. (i was told 20 minutes and i waited 40) i dont care about waiting, hey i wasnt bothered at all, untill she decided to give me a hard time as if to throw the blame on me that they were having trouble keeping up. the food. its same ol same ol chinese. nothing creative, inspired, or innovative. But hey, thats ok. its a cookie cutter chinese joint, whatever. I also ordered sushi though. It was by far the nastiest sushi ive ever gotten. the fish was obviously old. Whites were a pale eggshell color with a translucent hue, while reds were fading to pink along with discolorations along the edges of the cuts. It looked like it should have been slimy, i have no idea how it wasnt. Wont be going back. shoulda takin the trip down towson to sushi hana

My family and I have been frequenting Emerald Garden for almost a decade now. Never had a bad meal. In fact, none of us has ever left unsatisfied. It is a very Asian place--most waiters speak English with a hard accent but are very cordial. They have most everything you can imagine for Chinese or Sushi. Their vegetables are crisp and I have always gotten a hearty portion (I tend to side with meatier dishes myself and have always been satisfied). The best deal is going for lunch--you get your meal and soup that is all very tasteful and it usually only runs around 10 bucks for 2 people! For that price, there is no better choice in the area. Satisfying and relaxing.

I have been going to emerald gardens since it opened...originally Joe subs and pizza.... needless to say the good old days are gone..... This evening old stale chips, old grease could be tasted in egg rolls, no creme for tea...but crunchy coffee mate, very sad... service poor. First time ever we did not leave a tip.... Sad to see how a hard working g fame built a business to retire and sell. Dont waste your money or time

Fourth trip, so far each visit has been very pleasant and the food excellent. Won ton soup is consistently good, as was the golden walnut shrimp and beef fried rice. Crab meat cheese won tons are creamy and almost taste like they have a little Old Bay in them. Shrimp chow mein had a lot of shrimp. They have Mountain Dew here!

I ordered two carryout entrees during lunch. One was shrimp and cashew nuts for my husband. He gets this regularly from other local Chinese restaurants and loves it. But this was made from 98% cubed zucchini SQUASH, some shrimp, handful of cashews and a few scattered mushrooms...YUCK! No carrots no celery...just squash! Never again!

The Crab Rangoon is absolutely amazing!!! But the Orange Chicken didnt taste like Orange chicken. It tasted more like chicken covered in Soy Sauce. The service couldve been a little better. We had to request to get drinks even to just get water we had to ask about a drink. Also we didnt get checked on at all.

My wife has been up all night pooping and throwing up. Took less then 10 mins for us to get our food. I thought that was pretty strange. Service was awful and they were not interested in there customers. Never going back but my wife is probably going to the Drs

After waiting 30 minutes for food I asked what was going on. I was told 15 more minutes. After 15 more minutes or 45 minutes of total waiting I walked out. I could not tell you how the food is since they never made it. I can tell you the service was poor.....

Absolutely fantastic food. The orange chicken is a must. I love this place, and so does my boyfriend. I didnt like the sushi but maybe I just dont like sushi in general.
