This is my second time coming here for brunch on a Saturday morning. First experience last week was great. Amazing food and good service and we sat at the bar. This would be a 5 star review except right now we came back and sat at the bar in our same spots and the service is TERRIBLE. The wait staff are being completely rude and ignoring us and didnt even greet us for the first ten mins. Finally got menus after asking for them after 20 minutes. And after being here for almost 30 mins our order was finally taken. The food is really great and the atmosphere is good but really let down with this second experience at a place we loved the first time.

Last night was the first time weve dined at The Savory Grain and we have no idea why it took us this long to find this splendid dining option. The happy hour runs from 4 to 7pm and the beers and house wine are extremely good. The childrens drink menu is so cute. The ingredients used in all our entrees was unique, fresh and delicious. A restaurant experience is so much nicer when the moment you walk in it feels like you are truly welcome. The Savory Grain has this down pat. Our waitress could not have been more delightful and helpful. We wont wait long before returning!

Food is always interesting and well prepared. The kale salad is amazing. Ive eaten here many times and have always had a good meal and good service. Beer selection is also very good with a nice set of rotating taps. Staff is friendly and professional. Sunday jazz brunch can be packed, but its worth the wait and is always fun. Finally, they possibly have the best bloody mary in town. No zing zang, which can be found at most bars in RVA. Theirs is homemade. Ask for a pickled pepper to go with it. Fantastic.

GREAT cocktails without pretentious bar tenders. I was not a fan of the "in the bottle" President drinks, but the regular cocktails are primo! The spring pea falafel was good, but my dinner was a fried appetizer, fried falafel, and French fries. I thought the falafel was good, but a little overfried (borderline burnt- see my photos). I will absolutely be back to give them another try- warm and friendly service. French fries were clearly homemade and came with homemade ketchup- yum! Fry score: 6.8/10

My girlfriend and I chose The Savory Grain after searching for the best brunch in Richmond. They did NOT disappoint. Our food was more than delicious. She had the shrimp and grits and I ate a breakfast platter that included pancakes, bacon, hashbrowns and eggs. We did NOT want to disappoint our plates or bellies by leaving food unfinished, despite being full. The price was perfect and the flavors were, no lie, SAVORY. I plan to be a regular customer as Id like to experience the live music.

Relax have a cigarette and a drink in the smoking lounge. The dinning room doesnt have a hit of tobacco in it, not a hint. 5 stars from everyone one of the best restaurants in the city, one of the best bars as well. Serving lunch and dinner, great raw bar as well. Very clean and well run establishment great staff insuring perfection. Cross the Street from old Pleasants Hardware on Broad.

The atmosphere is so comfortable and charming here. Indoor and patio table seating, and a great bar as well. Interesting cocktails and craft beers on tap, upscale comfort food from locally sourced meats, cheeses and produce. Delicious and conscientious-- a lot to love!

Went for brunch, food was prepared well but felt the entree was sparse for the price. Small omelette with fruit and 1 piece of toast. Not spectacular. Had to ask for jam or butter for the toast. Will go again, just wish the meal was bigger and more exciting.

Savory Grain is one of my top choices to eat in Richmond, VA! They have one of the best veggie burgers that I have ever had. When I went, they had live music and the waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend for brunch!

Excellent food and great taps. Calamari appetizer was tender and flavorful. Squash entree was tasty as well as the really rich and filling shrimp and grits. Add bacon! Beer selection is reasonable and half price wine bottles on Sunday after 4.

Great cocktail menu, and the appetizers we had were fantastic. We didnt order dinner but i wished we would have it looked amazing. Collin was our bartender and he was fantastic. Highly recommend asking for him when you go.

The food was delicious with the exception of the hash browns which were undercooked though they appeared brown on the outside. Everything else was great. Really enjoyed the jazz artists playing on Sunday. Nice atmosphere.

Went here for RVA Brunch Weekend and although they were busy, we sat quickly. We had the brisket scramble and Krispy Kreme French toast - delicious! Good beer menu and non-beer selections on tap. Will return.

The service was great. Reservations are accepted via their website. Ordered the stuffed Chicken & Waffles and ate it all in one seating. The mimosas could have been a bit stronger, but were still good.

Happy hour everyday from 4pm-7pm with $4 drafts and other drink specials. The falafel sandwich was delicious and staff was friendly. They have 2 house made hot sauces which are worth tasting as well.

Im usually just stop in for drinks and music. And for those experiences it is unassuming but on point. Definitely keep an eye on their music calendar.

3.5! The bands on the nights are really good! The Food is good, servers and new hostess always talk to each other to much and not handle customers!

Grabbed a drink with friends after a choral concert around 10pm on a Saturday and The Savory Grain was a nice and quiet place to wind down.

The food and beer selection is excellent here! Seating is limited, staff is lovely and accommodating, even for a larger party like ours.

Maybe it was an off night... But we waited a while (almost an hour) and what we recieved wasnt worth the wait (or price). #dissapointed

Loved the Winter Gnocchi and the Gougeres (parmesan and bacon pastries) to start! Great cocktails too!
