Absolute hometown comfort. Im talking about the food and the service here. The menu is a wide range of pure deliciousness first of all. Whether you go for the filling travelers breakfast or the country fried steak, theres no way you can go wrong. Take a look, pick your poison and trust that you will receive a great meal. Deserts are baked daily and are advertised directly behind the bar style seating. When it comes to the service, you can expect your table to be cleaned and prepped for you in advance on a slow day or immediately after you sit on a busy Sunday morning. Within no time, your drink orders are taken (and trust me, theyll only get empty if you guzzle them) and your server is by your side asking if you know what you want. If you frequent this diner like my wife and I do, theyll know one person has their exact order and the kitchen staff knows how you want it prepared, and that you probably need 10 minutes to decide because you want to try something new like I do. Service is always given with a smile, a couple laughs, and when youre wrapped up nobody will mind if you sit around for a couple minutes to finish your coffee. We are in love with this diner and its staff, and will return as long as we are able to.

been in this place many time - NEVER before have i had such a bad experience. Went to lunch there today with my sister. I ordered a club sandwich no middle piece of bread - the server brings me back a BLT. I told one bite of the sandwich and looked. It was not a club. So I talked with the server she said she would bring me another one. i said fine. so i ate my fries and 1 piece of the bacon off the bitten half. She tried to charge me for 2 sandwiches. I told her I was not paying for 2 sandwiches. This was taking quiet a while. So we went to pay and the owner, says give her her sandwich and then turned to us and said and "Dont ever come back" Not a problem. This woman was so rude - doesnt matter if you are the owner. I was not nasty nor was my sister. RUDE!! RUDE!! RUDE! The only reason they are getting one star is because I cant post this with no stars.

Ive seen this diner driving by, and I was curious so I decided for my husband, grandson, and me to have dinner tonight. The food was good, I had th Delmonico steak sandwich. My husband had the Surf & Turf dinner, and grandson had the shrimp dinner. We really like the food, my grandson raved about the shrimp, and hubby loved his steak. It was colossal for its price, and I might as well have had steak dinner as well because the steak sandwich was just like steak dinner. my only comment is I wish the fries could have been hotter. Overall, the dinner experience was great, and the staff was friendy. I will definitely come back, and recommend it to other people.

This was the second visit Ive made to this restaurant in the last year and todays experience was FAR WORSE than the previous. The openly, blatant disrespect shown to 2 young (15 or 16 yrs old) black boys by the staff and customers was too much for my family to witness. We left prior to ordering from this establishment. I was appauld . I would have rathered having a chunk of hair in my eggs, like my first visit, than to see these kids being borderline harassed and looked at with such disdain and disgust by the 85% older white patrons, for nothing more than SERVING THEIR DRINKS!! I will ensure every person I know and encounter will never eat here .

Best kept secret in my moms hometown--she didnt even know about it! In honor of my dads would-be 70th birthday my mom and I decided to have one of his favorite meals--country fried steak. My mom--thinking Cracker Barrell was the only place to put some south in your mouth--was shocked to learn otherwise when my yelp search returned several other suggestions nearby. Yelp reviews dont lie. This place is dabomb people! Dont let the outside fool you either; what used to be a garage is now the Hometown Diner. Our server, Cassie, was super-friendly and top-notch. My mom was so impressed she cant wait to go back. Will definitely return in the future!

After a few failed attempts to eat here due to unexpected closings, we called ahead to make sure they were going to be open. An hour before closing time, while finishing a conversation outside before entering, a staff member stepped outside and told us to hurry up and come in if we wanted to eat. We thought it strange but complied. After sitting down and removing jackets, we were looking over the menu when a female employee approached us and told us that they had decided to close because it was a slow night, and asked us to get up and leave. I have never experienced such a rude service staff in all my life...will not return.

I know as a truck driver, that the best places to eat are usually just this type of establishment. Im just going to say that this place does NOT disappoint! My mother has been in the hospital across the street for a week now and Ive eaten here 4 times. Portions are big and the food is off the charts! The people are so friendly and helpful. I can see making the trip from Windsor just to eat here. Keep things just the way the are!

Fabulous!!! Found it a week and a half ago. Im headed there for my seventh time right now. Im floor to ceiling boxes in my house so cooking isnt an option until Im settled. The prices are under or right at 10.00/meal they have a couple of entrees over but not many. Huge yummy portions, daily specials, great satellite radio in background. Staff very friendly and good at their job. Good home style dinners.

My server totally forgot about me. I almost had to walk to the cashier to order my food because my server almost never came back to me. When the check was due, I did walk to the cashier to pay instead of the server coming for the payment. I am really disappointed with you guy. Some of the servers do provide top-notch service though.

We have eaten here many times and every time the food is great and filling at reasonable prices. The deserts are delicious. The service is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is like visiting a friends house. What more could you ask for?

Came after checking in to my Navy Hotel, it was a very homely place topped off with great food and service. Sausage was so good, we all ordered an extra plate! Highly recommend, for military especially.
